Exquisite 2 Bedrooms Apt In The Center Of Latin Quarter : Best Deal For 6
About this condo rental
Located in the very center of the Latin Quarter, close to the famous Panthéon, charming Place de la Contrescarpe, Sorbonne University, Saint Germain and the gorgeous Luxembourg gardens, this apartment offers a unique opportunity: • It is an exceptional deal: the apartment was designed with extra care to comfortably sleep up to 6 guests (2 queen beds and a comfortable sofa bed). • The apt is located in a stone building constructed in the 1800s. It is on the 2nd floor and offers a nice view above the square. The building was fully refurbished and redesigned by an architect in 2016. Two other similar apartments are available in the building in addition to the two extra ones of same area designed for 4 guests (including a sofa bed). The owners have preserved the traditional French apartment style with the beautifully exposed wooden beams. The apartment is super functional. They have also preserved the elegant French terra cotta tiled floor with a variation of colour and thickness in certain parts of the apartment. This floor style dates back to around 150 years, if not more, and is of great historical significance. The apt location is a perfect base to visit Paris: based in the heart of the old Paris, in the Latin Quarter, facing Notre Dame, it is a very lively area. Walk to “Rue Mouffetard” & “place de la Contrescarpe” to have an outside dinner, stroll in the nearby and beautiful “Jardin du Luxembourg”, “Jardin des Plantes” or “Arenes de Lutece”, visit the trendy Ile Saint Louis, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Cluny Museum of Medieval Arts, the Pantheon, the Sorbonne university, le “Paradis Latin” Cabaret and the Saint Germain area. They are all steps away. Stroll along the banks of the Seine, enjoy a drink on one of the many barges or dance Tango in the “Tino Rossi” square in summer before going to the Marais where are the best clothes shops of Paris. All at walking distance. It stands 10 minutes by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums. One finds plenty of restaurants, shops, cinemas and many nearby cultural sites to visit. Right down the building are located many shops, restaurants, bakeries, delies and more. We advise to try “Les Pipos” restaurant, typical traditional French food. More about the apartment… On entering the apartment, one is greeted by a small corridor that serves the bathroom to the right, and leads to the living room area. To take advantage of the light and volume, the architect has designed a great concept: • During the day, opening the 2 sliding doors create a unique large living space with two windows above the square. The light coming from both windows make the whole area most welcoming and spacious • During the night, guests can profit from 3 separate, private sleeping areas. The Living room offers a large double glazed window that bathes it in natural light. It opens on the charming Place de L’Ecole Polytechnique which offers various terraces. No building blocks the view: it is open on the Rue de la Montagne Sainte Genevieve, and the famous and beautiful courtyard of the Ecole Polytechnique (host to many international conferences of researchers). The living room offers a comfortable sofa bed and a center table, chair and lights. Wall is decorated with frames. The TV is fixed above the kitchen bar a convenient location to watch it from the sofa bed. On the right of the sofa is located an open kitchen bar with stools. It is integrated into the living area and gives an impression of openness. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing simple meals. The bedroom with sliding doors offers a high quality queen size bed, a large closet and a large window on the square. Obviously complete privacy may be obtained by sliding the doors. Through the kitchen, one can access the second bedroom. This bedroom also offers a very good quality queen size bed with closet, a mini office table and a window that overlooks the building courtyard. Once again it is furnished with quality equipment and decorated with frame. The bathroom located at the entrance, is fully tiled and modernly decorated. It offers a large semi-enclosed shower, a vanity area and a toilette. For information : As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and Australia are generally free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. Moreover, calls to cell phones to specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators. WIFI is free and available in the entire apartment.

We and our two older teenage children stayed here for a few days for Thanksgiving. The apartment is located steps from the Pantheon, on a tiny square in the lively Latin Quarter. It has two sleeping areas, one divided from the living area by a sliding door, as well as a back bedroom, both with very comfortable beds that seemed larger than a queen bed. A living area, small kitchen, and bathroom with shower are well appointed. We ate out for most meals, but a simple meal could be prepared in the kitchen without too much effort. Self check-in was very convenient, and the host was very friendly when I touched base after we arrived. Negotiating the entry-way security is a little complicated, though it appears to be the norm for Paris. However, the hosts' check-in information was extremely detailed and helpful. In fact, documentation in the apartment was very thorough and would provide answers for any questions that might come up during a stay.
But, most of all, the location! A handful of charming cafes are downstairs, and many more are steps away in this terrific area. Metro stops are within a 5-10 minute walk in any direction, and we used Uber as well without trouble. The area felt lively, but safe.
Others have noted the cafe downstairs is noisy at night. We had windows closed with the winter cold, and were not disturbed by noise. This is a charming apartment in an older Parisian building, so be prepared for steep stairs, as would be expected. Would stay here again!

The location was absolutely perfect for us and allowed us to walk to nearly everything. It was also a great location for pickup and drop off for Uber/Taxi. We LOVED having little cafes and pubs and stores right near us. We felt very safe and overall loved our stay here!

Thanks for a great stay! Our family of 6 enjoyed our time. There are metro stations nearby and a grocery store down the street. The cafes below are loud at night especially with the windows open but ear plugs and the sound of the fans helped. The utility room with the washer and dryer was easy to use. We enjoyed our stay!

Lovely place, nice location and a short walk to the Metro. Cafe's on the main floor below the room if you're looking for food or drink. They do get a bit noisy and people stay out late so keep it in mind if you keep your windows open on warm days. This was our place to rest as we were out running around the city trying to see everything in 2 full days. I would recommend this location to others!

We just spent 5 days in Paris with our two teenage boys. The property is as advertised. Great location for a local vibe. Close to the pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. Also just down the street from the metro. We walked most places and Uber was also very easy. The beds were comfortable as was the pull out couch. It is a true efficiency, laundry is in the building, but not the unit (just to note, but it wasn’t an issue for us). The giant windows were great for morning breeze, however as others have noted, there are several cafes below the unit in the square which creates a vibrant buzz well into the night. The windows when closed are very sound resistant. So we found it fine to sleep with the closed windows. But there is no AC, and we were extremely lucky to have cool evenings, so it was not necessary. The square makes this an authentic location with locals and fewer tourists and we had several breakfast at cafe right outside the door, le petit cafe. Really enjoyable and we would definitely stay again.

While the neighborhood is fun, friendly, and convenient, the late night crowds drinking at the multiple bars directly below our windows kept us up past 4am every night. If there had been a better cooling/ventilation system we could have closed our windows which would have helped. The fans provided were either broken or very inefficient.
I do not recommend this flat to anyone who wants a good night’s sleep.

The location was perfect, near metro lines, restaurants, and cafés. Upon arrival we called the number indicates in the book using the apartment landline, and the owner welcomed us, letting us know he was available should we need anything at all. It was clean, with the essential needed during a stay in Paris. I will book again on my next visit and recommend the place to my friends and family. Full disclosure, I have been an American for 25 years but am a French Native, and this is truly a must book. No tricks at all.

The unit did not have any charming features which the pictures implied. The biggest drawback is that our second story unit was directly above two very busy cafe / bars which had a lot of outdoor seating and people standing around in groups. Although the conversations were lively and respectful during the early evening hours, we needed to tightly close all the windows in order to go to bed. Since the unit did not have AC it got hot inside. I would not recommend for anyone looking to go to bed before 10pm

Cosy 2 has a very Parisian view, large bedrooms and a modern bathroom with great and fast hot water. The stairs can be a challenge and the bars below are quite popular. It is a short walk from The Pantheon and the Odeon neighborhood.
4.0
This property is directly over two cafes/bars so without air-conditioning and the need to keep the windows open in the summertime, it was quite noisy until the early morning (3 am) hours.

The apt was clean and comfy with a view of the little
Place. Friendly restaurants and just up the hill from my
favorite farmers market and other specialty shops. The
stairs helped work off the baked goods. While they were
steep, I'm a fit 72 and did just fine.
The down sides were few and only minor. the coffee
maker was broken, but there were filters and we bought
a Melita cone at the store down the hill. The clothes dryer
was inefficient but I've yet to encounter a good one in
Europe, even in a private home.
The overall stay was fun, and my travel pal would like to
come back and bring here 2 adult children.
A truly memorable trip. Thanks so much for the use of
this lovely 'home' in Paris.

We had a great stay in this location. Two bedrooms plus the pullout couch were perfect for us. Place was clean and instructions for check in perfect. Stairwell is narrow so just need to be careful going up with luggage. Location wise it was nice to be in a non touristy area though still close to public transport. We walked a lot but also utilized the metro, stop was 2-3 blocks away. There are other locations that are closer to the main stops but this worked great for us. Though it isn’t touristy the area is bumping - we had windows closed but you could hear the cafe noise till about 3am. Didn’t bother us or prevent us from sleeping but I imagine in the summer when you want windows open it would have.

Great stay!! Awesome location. Several metro stations close by, great bakeries to get fresh baguettes and croissants every morning (La maison d’Isabelle 👍👍). Do remember, it is a busy corner, and you will have some noise level, even with windows close until midnight or a little after, sometimes with music. If you’re someone who needs absolute quiet, that may bother you. For my wife and myself, with our 2 teenage daughters 15 and 16, it was close to perfect.

We loved this charming apartment. Jean-Nicolas was so very helpful and his response time was quick. The apartment is in a lovely central area of Paris, next to the Pantheon and the Sorbonne. It is also steps away from Saint Germain des Près, Notre Dame, etc Enjoyed the historic architecture of the apartment and the windows overlooking the square below. There are also great options for restaurants, shopping and cafes close by. A great stay.

I stayed with my family - - this was in an excellent location- restaurants below - walkable to many sites. Large high ceilings-
Nice to have laundry available. Management company responsive- would recommend

This apartment was in the center of the Latin quarter and was a perfect location! It was very safe, clean, and a great size for four people. That’s very comfortable and everything that was needed this provided. The owners were easy to reach and responsive to all of our questions. We will be back!

We stayed her for a week with our teenage daughter and the second bedroom was great for her privacy and comfort. The hosts were east to connect with and the view of the square from the living room window was the essence of a quaint Paris neighborhood. Just blocks from the Seine and Notre Dame, we were able to walk most places. Just a few blocks in the opposite direction and you will find yourself in a beautiful neighborhood in the Latin Quarter with Cafes and shops all around. Veryl lively at night we had no problem with the noise with the windows closed. If you want to have a great local Paris experience with great access to the center of Paris but without hearing the traffic, this is a great spot. We would all go back in a heartbeat and stay at the same place!

The apartment was exactly as portrayed in the photos. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood was perfect -- few tourists, many students and cafes where one could while away the hours people watching and eating delicious food. We particularly enjoyed the frequent classical concerts at the nearby Eglise St. Ephrem.

My mom and I finally made it to Paris after several attempts before and during Covid! The Cosy 2 was a lovely little apartment close to St. Germain. It was clean, bedrooms were spacious and the beds and linens were very comfy. The kitchen was perfect for having a morning coffee, light breakfast and snacks in between our day and nighttime outings. The bathroom was small but did the trick. We loved having the laundry in the building as well and the 2 times we wanted to wash clothes it was available. Per the other reviews, the staircase is very small and windy- but it just takes some patience and getting used to. The street cafes below are VERY lively- this is a University area and the students are having a blast- sometimes until 3am. With the windows closed, drapes shut and fans on it is not a problem. However, in warmer months, you may want to consider earplugs if you have to have the windows open. The manager, Jean Noel, was readily available and kind enough to let us check in early and check out late. Overall, we had a great experience at the VRBO!

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids ages 10-19) just returned from our stay in Paris. The apartment was in a great location, a short walk from several different metro stations, surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants. There is a convenience store only steps from the apartment where you can grab some essentials for your stay (one of which is wine for me!).
The apartment is located directly above several popular restaurants/cafes that had patrons there until the wee hours of the morning. There were still people hanging out at 6am one morning! Of the two bedroom in the apartment, one is located at the front of the apartment with windows that open directly over the restaurants/cafes and as a result is very loud. We had the windows open as it was hot during our time in Paris and the cool evening air was needed so we kept them open. It was definitely quieter with the windows closed. Our two teenagers shared the front room and were unfazed by the noise levels, however, a light sleeper will definitely struggle with it. The living room with the sofa bed is also located at the front of the apartment with windows opening directly over the restaurants/cafes so has the same loud noise issue for anyone who is not a sound sleeper.
The second bedroom is much quieter and there was no issue with noise at all in that room.
The apartment itself was well appointed and modern and had all the essentials we needed. The living is room area would benefit from the addition of a side chair or two as seating is quite limited in the space.
As some other reviewers have mentioned the stairwell to the apartment is on the narrow side but this very common in the old apartment buildings in Paris.
Communication with the rental agency was excellent and they were very professional in their correspondence with us. I do wish we had been given an additional key for our stay as we sometimes “divided and conquered” with our plans and ended up going off in different directions. We did not think to request an extra key when we booked, so this is definitely something to think about requesting when you book.
We enjoyed our stay in the apartment and the convenience and vibrancy of the location. The Latin Quarter is one of my favorite locations in all of Paris so it was lovely to be staying in this area.
3.0
We had an easy time with check in and the managers were very communicable. The apartment was a good size for Paris standards and had two large beds. However, the apartment was not very clean- we re-cleaned the bathroom upon arrival- dust under the bed, a big coffee stain on the sofa couch. It was very minimally equipped-no basics like soap/shampoo/coffee as you would get in a hotel. The main reason we would not go back was the location above a busy bar. The rental papers had a lot of instructions on being quiet to respect the neighbors, which was absurd as there was a bar downstairs that was open until 1 or 2am. Then taxis were still dropping people off all night and they'd party on the street until 4-5am. Then at 6 the garbage trucks came through. Closing the windows blocked out a lot of the noise but then there was no airflow in the apartment and it was 95 degrees. So needless to say, we got very little rest while we stayed there and definitely can't recommend it.

Perfectly located but read description. In a student area above several lively cafés, noise not bad with windows closed. Stairs are very narrow so if you have any kind of impairment may not be the place for you. Multiple sites and tasty food within just a couple of blocks. Good communication with the host. Would definitely book again.

My husband, daughter and I stayed in this lovely flat during our one week stay in Paris this month. The flat is as described. The location is convenient for everything. While we walked everywhere, the Metro is very close by. The view from the flat was wonderful, as you can even see the top of Notre Dame in the distance. The boulangerie that was just a five minute walk away was fabulous.
As other reviews have noted, the noise at night is a lot. It is a lively area, which we enjoyed, and the windows do block out most of the outside noise. However, the flat gets very stuffy when the windows are closed. We did use the fans to help at night, but it did make it hard to sleep.
While this falls under personal preference, the beds are VERY firm, and the pillows very flat. Between that, and the stuffiness, it did not make for a good night's sleep.
Our other concern was the bathroom. While the flat was clean, the bathroom smelled musty. The exhaust fan is frankly disgusting and needs to be cleaned, as this may help with the mustiness.
Overall, this rental is wonderful, but be prepared for the noise, lack of air circulation with the windows closed, the beds and the bathroom.

The apartment was very comfortable even the beds! Everything necessary for our stay was provided in the apartment! No complaints & I will stay in the apartment again!!!!

Positives: Exactly as advertised; nice sunny apartment with good quality bed linens, towels, newer bathroom and room for our family of 5. The apartment looks out into a charming square with many restaurants and shops nearby. You can even see a part of the Notre Dame from the front windows. Terrific location - a short walk to Notre Dame, and in the other direction, a short walk the Luxembourg Garden. Easy walk to multiple Metro/RER lines.
Negatives: The evening noise is significant - lots of students partying in the late evenings, and a few were carousing as late as 7am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. But this was obvious from other reviews, so we expected it. In a way, it made us feel young again! The stairs would be very challenging for anyone with even slightly limited mobility. Overall, A nice apartment for our family of 5. Would stay here again.
4.0
Pros: Good location, short walk to metro, cafes, markets, and pharmacies. In a neighborhood brimming with history. Apartment was clean and comfortably slept my family of 5 for a week. Owners left clear instructions for check-in and check-out procedures.
Cons: Noise from downstairs cafes may bother people not used to city living as it can last until about midnight, but we never found this to be overly oppressive. Our stay also included a Saturday night, and there was a nightclub in the neighborhood playing loud music until 2AM accompanied by noisy patrons lined up in the street.
3.0
Overall we had a fun trip. The apartment was well located for our requirements. Definitely some cleanliness issues with the bathroom. It would appear the property managers rarely inspect the property in person and rely on the guests to inform them of issues.
4.0
Apartment itself was as advertised: clean, functional and cozy. Phone number provided in the messaging was a wrong number. Location in heart of Latin-quarter party-central.
5.0
Great flat. Has all you need. Has the charm of a 12th century building with modern amenities. The location is central and convenient. The flat is above a few cafes. We were there over the Xmas holidays and there was noise until 1-2am. The back bedroom remained quiet but anyone sleeping up front who is a light sleeper might be affected.
5.0
The location is excellent for walking to sites or catching the metro. The stairs are treacherous in a few spots so be careful. Really nice flat, I would stay again.
