Welcome to Frances Cottage Frances Cottage is in the ideal location in Saugatuck; right on the hill, and within walking distance to downtown. This cottage comfortably accommodates 12. This home features a large kitchen, dining room, & two living areas. Offering plenty of living space to accommodate your family's needs while being very close to the attractions, restaurants, and galleries of Saugatuck and Douglas. The indoor space is not the only thing to brag about, the backyard offers a large patio with a seating area, firepit, and grill. This vacation home is perfect for families or friends getaway. INSIDE THE HOME Located on the main floor are both living areas, a dining room, a large open kitchen, two bedrooms with queen size beds in each, and two full bathrooms. Additionally, there is a sleeper sofa and futon in the living areas if needed. The other two bedrooms are located upstairs, one being a queen size and the second contains a twin and double size bed. The kitchen is well equipped with the basics including a coffee bar, if there is anything specific you may need please ask. SLEEPING ARRANGMENTS This vacation rental sleeps 10 guests. Main Floor Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed Main Floor Bedroom 2 - Full Bed Upstairs Bedroom 3 - Queen Bed Upstairs Bedroom 4 - Queen Bed and Twin Bed THE LOCATION Want to be in the hustle bustle, but still have your piece and quiet? Frances Cottage is the place for you. Located just on top of "the hill" downtown Saugatuck is a 5 minute walk away. Oval beach is a 10 minute drive, unless you are a true walker and want to take the chain ferry across the river. Have an even larger group? Frances Cottage is almost directly across from Call Me Frances who sleeps 14. These two homes are intended to be rented separately. **Please note: Before booking, it is your responsibility to ensure that this property will accommodate the number of guests booked. We are group of 10 friends that worked together and are, let’s just say over 50. We get together monthly and sometimes let the hubbies join. Not this time. The kitchen/dining area was PERFECT for this eat, drink and be merry, (and loud) friend group.
Just enough sleeping spaces and clean well appointed home. Great neighborhood! 9 min walk to town. We even had the local high school Homecoming parade pass us and throw candy.
Kitchen has large fridge and several coffee pots, (thank you).

Enjoyed the house. It’s a good size for 8 people. The fire pit in the back was a hit with our group. Awesome central location to Saugatuck.
The management company was very commutative from start to finish. We had a small plumbing issue and I was kept in the loop about it being revolved. I very much enjoyed the texting communication channel and also the email details of happenings in the area.
Would stay here again when traveling with a group of friends.

Great location within walking distance of downtown Saugatuck. House is a well-maintained century home. Very well-equipped with a nice back yard featuring a deck and patio with a nice fire pit. Kitchen had everything a family needed to prepare meals. Bathrooms were clean and very functional for an active family. Bedrooms were comfortable. Driveway easily accommodated three cars. Was on the Fourth of July parade route! Lots of fun for the kids. Plan to rent again.

The property was very clean, no smelly air freshener! and so very close to town. The home was very comfortable and more than enough space for 8 adults. The kitchen is spacious and the backyard is beautiful. There are two bathrooms on the main floor that have been remodeled and are very nice. No bathrooms on the second floor. The website should be updated to state that not all beds are queen size but rather full size. There is a bit of a trip hazard between kitchen and dining room. I would recommend this house.

Overall positive. Great location and backyard for outdoor dining and firepit. Big kitchen and plenty of indoor seating. Lack of bathroom on second floor is negative. Main floor has rooms with different floor heights which is a tripping hazard.

We had a great time staying here! It is an excellent location and walkable to everything. Everything was sparkling clean and had all amenities we needed for the weekend! They also have a great back deck with bonfire area that we utilized as well. This was perfect for what we booked it for and would stay here again!

Girls Weekend
We stayed at the house for a girls weekend. The house is a GREAT location. We were able to walk everywhere. Randy lives on the property and was very nice and helpful! The people that stayed in the upstairs bedrooms said they got hot at night, but other than that no complaints. Can’t wait to stay again!

I enjoyed The stay but it has been two weeks and I still Do not have my deposit back. That’s complete crap!! Nobody should have to wait this long. I am Still waiting!! Am I even going To get it back or did you scam me??

Great girls weekend getaway
We had a wonderful time! We had 12 ladies stay in the house and there was everything we needed including tons of towels and extra blankets and pillows. The location was a perfect walk to town.

Family Fun Time In Saugatuck
I reserved this property back on January 12 for my family as we like to get together on the Labor Day weekend for family fun time.
I was so excited and couldn’t wait to get there
Everybody loved it so much it was sad to leave on Monday, great memories and what a blast we had in town and at the property.
The backyard and fire pit was awesome
Needless to say I was the hero for finding such a wonderful place to stay
We all want to go back again next year
Thank You For giving us the opportunity to enjoy such a Beautiful property

The house was very clean home with lovely back yard
We had a wonderful week, loved how close the house was to town. We enjoyed the big fire pit and large back yard for playing yard games. The kitchen was well equipped. The only recommendation we would make is a room air conditioner for the upstairs bedrooms.

Nice location; nice common areas
Walkable to town, big open kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating for the whole group. Cons: no second floor bathroom, no AC/not working if you are there in a heat wave. Fortunately weather was mild.

Great big place in a town know for little bitty places
Close to shops, restaurants and the water, Francis Cottage fit the bill nicely for our group.
With a 12-member, multi-generational group, no one could complain about the accommodations at the Francis Cottage. The large kitchen was excellent for meal prep and the fire pit in the backyard and access to the gas grill were wonderful additions to the inside comforts. The updated bathrooms were a welcome surprise as was access to a washer and dryer. The beds were comfortable and the linens were well stocked.
Although there were issues with the thermostat, the caretaker was on top of making sure we knew the problem was being looked into.
In a town not known for easy parking, it was nice to have a driveway and the ability to walk a few blocks to the action.
We will definitely be staying again!
The only minor suggestions are as follows:
-Having a lock box at the house with a key accessible via code, would be more convenient than having to go to the rental office.
-Drilling a few holes in the recycle bin would be helpful to avoid having it fill with water during rainy periods.

Place was in good location and very clean. Need to make sure there are plenty of towels in bathrooms and would be nice to have Kleenex also in baths and bedrooms.
