This house has seen some hard living. The carpet was filthy, with numerous mysterious stains. We made sure we wore slippers at all times in the interests of hygiene. Sofas had been repaired with duct tape, and one dining chair was on the verge of collapse, TV remote was missing bits and looked like it had not worked since the VHS era. Pots and pans were in poor condition.
We booked this place because of the shared hot tub, but there were no amenity passes in the place (and in fact no information package at all). The front desk of the Tahoe Donner recreation center had told us that we would absolutely not be allowed access to the hot tub without the passes. After numerous phone calls trying to arrange access to the hot tub, escalating our calls through managers, regional managers, VRBO and others, we eventually got permission to enjoy what we had paid for.
Over the years, we have stayed in numerous Tahoe houses and have always had great experiences with VRBO until now. This place stands alone for all the wrong reasons. VRBO needs to pay more attention to quality control.

The photos don't match the reality!

The house was nice and spacious with the perfect amount of beds. The downstairs area was perfect for kids. When we entered the house we were a bit shocked over how dirty the carpet was. Then when you head downstairs the walls are covered in something that had been spilled and once again nasty carpets. We didn’t want to take our shoes off that’s for sure. The pots and pans were very sketchy. We lost a dozen eggs to a non stick pan that left black flakes in the food.
Now as far as towels and soaps and dish soaps and garbage sacks we had plenty.
The downstairs tile bathroom is nice and big but when you use the shower it doesn’t drain making you stand in gunk.
We’ve always purposely used vacasa in every vacation at the coast and been very happy. Unfortunately this house was a great space but had some cleanliness issues for us.

My family has been staying in vacation rentals for 10 years. We love vacationing this way. We have never had a bad experience until this one. From day one we had issues. I “booked now” and was charged a different price than was advertised with out my approval. And was told the listed price is an average when I asked why I was charged so much more. That was just the beginning. When we got there the place was filthy. Carpets were disgusting ( they are really stained and I was so glad I didn’t have any babies crawling on them), but there literally was trash, food and paper on the carpets. There was clothing under beds, toys out downstairs, kitchen counters and table were sticky and gross. Dishes were dirty in the cupboard. We spent most of our first day cleaning. Vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen, washing sheets (we had to wash all of them bedding. We could literally see hairs and all sorts of stuff on the sheets). Pillows were yellow when we took off pillow cases. We had to shovel a pathway to the front door because the only way to it was walking on about 18 inches of slippery icy snow. We could not find bath towels any where. I called and we got a phone call back about 5 hours later. We finally found a load of towels in the dryer, but they were dirty and we had to rewash them. The dishwasher racks were broken. 2 kitchen drawers were totally broken and no tracks. The knife drawer literally came out and fell to the floor. The beds were really hard and bunk beds were super squeaky. It also says no pets and we found a closet with a bunch of cat stuff. (Maybe the owners stuff??). We had several people who were allergic to cats. There were 2 DVD players and neither worked. We left messages and never heard back. In the end we made it and adventure after we cleaned. The only positive was there was plenty of room for the 12 of us and the kids loved playing pool.

Decent place to hang out at. Not top quality stuff but the price is good so you get what you pay for and it was just fine.

Family Winter Getaway
We had such a warm and enjoyable stay here with our family. It had everything we needed such as extra blankets for the kids, a pool table with other extra fun activities and a comfortable and spacious living room area. Thank You!

Comfortable but dirty house
The house was comfortable place to stay, but the pictures of the house are outdated. They show a clean house but in reality the carpets are very stained, the couches are duct taped together, the air hockey table was damaged, and to top it all off, a few crucial lights were burnt out. Will not be returning to this house unfortunately.

Great Place
It was very clean and accommodating. It had everything we need. We especially loved the big bath tub with dual showers and the game room. Our stay was very private with no one around to bother us.

Big home for 12
We enjoyed our stay. There were a few items that need updating in this home. But great location and nice area close to Squaw Valley! We were here to attend an event and this place accommodated our group of 12 guests. The manager Ernest was absolutely amazing to work with! He provided us the necessity that was missing in the cabin! Thank you so much! We would love to see this house with updated furnishings and we will definitely come back!!!

Truckee Home Pass It
This home is in a nice location but very dirty, many things broken or not working and require to be fixed. If you use the local facility they advertise through the filter to have a pool/hot tub, it is a shared facility 7 minutes from the house. You must have passes with the owners name and it is still $8.00 per person. No information about this when we arrive and one of the reasons we rented the house. We were very disappointed. Game room is the nicest part of the house. I would not stay here until many of the broken items are fixed. I would also recommend an update to the deck, BBQ (to a gas grill) and cleaner furniture. The deck needs painting.

Uncomfortable Living and Unprofessional Service
When we first arrived, the trash outside in front of the house was scattered everywhere in front of the garage and driveway. It was not a pleasant arrival, and it smelled! We called residential services three times so we would get ahold of someone to take care of it, but no one picked up. A neighbor noticed our inconvenience, and put in extra effort to help us get rid of the trash. Next, the carpet in the house was dirty; there were stains spotted everywhere. No one felt comfortable walking barefoot or around the house with that kind of unsanitary condition. The dining table was unstable and shook a bit-- it could have been a hazard for us to eat there. The A/C in the house was broken, as to many other parts of the house, such as the garage and the railing of the walkway outside. There was trash when we would open some of the cupboards. We did not feel 100% comfortable with our stay there.
