About this house rental

Built at the turn of the 20th century, the Old Magnolia Place was renovated in 2005, but the 1900s charm remains intact. It's as welcoming and comforting as Grandma's house, just at the beach. Located at the popular south end of Tybee, this spacious and beautifully restored boarding house is two blocks from the beach and three blocks from Back River. It's an easy walk to shops and the pier, and other popular island destinations, from the lighthouse to the old coastal battery, are a quick bike ride away. The house sits on the bike route for the south end of the island. Original flooring, bead board walls, wrap around porches, and a claw foot bathtub remind guests of a simpler time, while central AC, a modern kitchen, wifi, and DirectTV provide all the comforts of home. The house is perfect for family reunions and large get-togethers. The back porch table easily seats 12, and additional dining space inside seats eight more. With six bedrooms and five baths, the house sleeps 14, comfortably accommodating multiple families. Each room has it's own entrance to the porch, for easy access to the beach, Back River, lighthouse, or pier. And if you don't like what's being served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at home, many dining options are available within walking, biking, or golf-carting distance. And for that big evening out, nearby Savannah is home to Paula Deen's famous Southern cuisine, and a host of other excellent restaurants, from dressy to casual, abound in the area. The house's location and blend of old-fashioned charm and modern amenities will have you coming back year after year and making more memories. Just like Grandma's place. We enjoyed our stay. It's an older home, probably from the 40s, but it was clean. We thought the main living space would be bigger with more seating than it was. We had 14 from our family and we really couldn't congregate very comfortably there to be together at one time, and ended up spread out throughout the house. We had to call for some maintenance help and they were prompt and fixed it. We had an enjoyable visit to Tybee island. It's a beautiful area.

Loved this home. Has outside screened in porch and a balcony upstairs. Plenty if room and a great location. We had a great time. Walkable to beach. The only issue we had was that the address we were given does not work with GPS. It took us all the way into island and we spent too much time looking for it. I finally called and was told GPS doesn't work and they were right after you get off of the bridge. This wasted 30 min of our day. Not a big deal but wish they would add this in bold letters to the info they sent. Highly recommend
