Rooms were well decorated and clean. Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful and attentive but not intrusive. Dinner and breakfast were great! A very popular pub.
A bit more space to move around the bed without knocking the tv would be great and a couple more plug sockets in the room. Limited car parking on site if you arrive later in the day.

The rooms are a great size and nicely finished.
I didn't like that we had to pay extra for a travel cot for a baby. The coffee at breakfast also wasn't great but the food was very tasty. I think the lighting could be improved in the lamps by changing the bulbs to a warmer white light.

Location, cleanliness and homely atmosphere. We experienced both dining rooms - very clean and well set out. Attention by staff, very good.

We were in Room 24 on the ground floor, which was big & comfortable. Bonus of parking right out the front of the room. We had a lovely evening meal & great breakfast. The staff were lovely.
The room was a little dark & could do with a light over the bathroom mirror.

This is a very lively and yet elegant pub/hotel in the very centre of Alresford, and I highly recommend it.
My room, like all other guest rooms, was in a separate block, and so I had a great night's sleep. Additionally, upon waking, I realised one of my two views was of the historic and beautiful parish church! The room truly exceeded expectations, and also had a marvellous, full-length, and deep bath.
Free parking was also available on site, and much appreciated. After arrival, I enjoyed a pint of ale from a local brewery in one of the many indoor snugs. Plus, there were a number of other heated and covered outdoor areas for relaxing.
The Eggs Benedict for breakfast were excellent, and set me up for the day.

Was very clean and conveniently located. Breakfast choice was good. WIFI free and excellent.
I thought it was a bit overpriced. 4 star prices for a⁸ three star hotel.

I was really impressed with my stay. The bedroom was so lovely! Loved the access from the balcony, view of the church, lovely big bed and super comfy. Lovely bathroom, toiletries provided, room was warm and snug and spacious! Loved the wooden furniture and decor. Breakfast was great - eggs on offer, not just full English. Great location for the high street and Watercress line too. I ate dinner in the pub too which was efficient, friendly, great decor, lots of choice and yummy food. Would very happily stay again!

Great location, car park, spacious room, comfy beds, nice to have a bath. Incredible service when returning something I’d left in the room.
The noise transfer between rooms and the aggressive reaction of a staff member when returning at night.
The hotel warns about being an event venue but the noise wasn’t from that or other guests doing anything unusual. In the newer rooms at the back the sound proofing is woefully insufficient. You can hear the TV in adjacent rooms and a bathroom fan was so loud it sounded like building works. Being woken at the crack of dawn by noise of an neighbouring room using their bathroom isn’t great on a Sunday. It sounded like a pneumatic drill but was only a fan not having been switched off.
We also had an unpleasant experience returning to the hotel at night. We entered through the front door as others in our party were given a key as their room was at the front. When we crossed the bar to access our room at the back (instead of walk-ing round the outside and via the car park) a male member of staff appeared and flipped out. We explained but he didn’t calm down. We asked to pass and his behaviour was intimidating. I’d hate to have been there as a woman on my own.

Clean, neutral room. parking available even on a Friday night. convenient for Alresford. Breakfast was good.
The corridor had quite squeaky floorboards so could hear if someone walked past my room. My view was across a flat roof with another bedroom opposite so couldn’t open blind as someone would be able to see in. Breakfast wasn’t really served with a smile…

Good location right in the middle of the town
Car park is small

Very pleasant & characterful old coaching inn, nicely upgraded & converted to current standards. Agreeably quiet despite town centre location. Food was good & well-prepared.
It felt understaffed & restaurant service was somewhat hit & miss, a trifle offhand.
