It was relaxing

The place is nice and clean. The stuff was welcoming and friendly, always willing to assist.

Breakfast was bad. Two food items tasted like they were expired. Dinner was also not so good. The food was not hotel / restaurant standard. It was more of home cooked meals

we couldnt eat breakfast bcz there was a wedding setup

they didnt make up the room, same dirt sheets, horrible comforter, no big towels, didnt add soap,shower cap , coffee...was so bad

I've stayed at the lodge several times before, hospitality and service standards are pathetic.

The lodge is situated in a fairly good and safe area of richards Bay.

- Upon arrival, No porters were available to assist with luggage to rooms. - Readiness and cleanliness of the room was very poor. We checked in at 4pm ( 2 hours after the standard check in time- thus giving the lodge plenty of time to ensure the room was ready for guests). - Dirty linen noted. 1 large bath towel was provided for 2 guests. 1 small hand soap provided for the use of washing hands at the basin and for bathing between 2 guests. No Shampoo, shower gel or body Lotion provided. - Unable to call reception as the number stated on the telephone was incorrect. It was stated as dial 9 whereas the number is actually 100. We as guests had to walk down ourselves to inform the staff of the condition of the room and the reason for difficulty in contacting them. - When the receptionist was informed of the above, he told me he will inform housekeeping and was unable to give me an ETA as to when issues will be resolved. After an argument, he came up to the room to inspect for himself. He then took pictures of the problems we had and assigned us to the new room. - We had to carry our own luggage and the remainder of towels and soaps to the new room. - we were contacted by reception to ask whether we had taken the remainder of the towels. - there was no shower mat or hand towels provided leaving bathroom very slippery after use. - New room had a balcony which was dirty and full of algae & mold. - No hair dryer was available and I had to go down once again to reception to ask for one afterwhich I was told that there is only 1 available for all the guests. This arrived after an hour. A small Hairdryer that had insulation tape and cord joining to it. - Only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper was given to us. - very unprofessional and we are highly dissatisfied with our stay. Will not recommend this accommodation after this experience.

It was one hell experiance

little getaway

we enjoyed the pool area as the sea too rough to swim in

my partner wanted to go to Richard’s bay although there is not a lot there - but we drove to Cape Vidal

Nothing at all, we booked for a Queen deluxe and when we got there they said it was booked out, but the staff did manage to arrange something better later.

The cold water in the morning and the water stops running, they offer to take you to another room where there is also cold water. There is a certain smell in the rooms and the lobby, it was my wife's birthday and the stay was horrible to be honest.

The place wasn't organized, they changed us twice because the room wasn't ready. The place was dirty, I wouldn't recommend it for the next visit. We only got 1 towel but we were a couple, they didn't bother to change the bed next morning. The cleaning staff aren't good at what they do, they just cleaning for the sake of "doing it". Lot of "Don't" than "Do" which ain't there when you do the booking. Ohh not to forget how rude the manager was😕🚮

All in all it was good

The staff was friendly and they were too quick to respond to complaints. The place is close to the beach about 5 minutes walking distance.

The curtains were not clean and also the bedding had blood stains

Friendly staff and the meals were great both breakfast and dinner

Place is a bit run-down. Needs a lot of maintenance. Toilet roll holder was broken. Balcony was not swept. Fridge in room was dirty on the outside and was missing a wheel on one side so it was scraping on the floor. Corridor carpet was not vacuumed for 2 days - noticed the dirt on the stairs.
