All in all, a beautiful, peaceful stay. Thank you

It is very beautiful , very nice host.very relaxing

A little far from everything if you don’t have a car rental. A bus does go by down the road though. We just didn’t try to navigate it. Also You will need mosquito repellent. But that is just Tuscany. I wish I had known ahead of time so I could have prepared. This property will give me great memories for a long time.

Very peaceful

Staff were lovely and room were clean and spacious. A bit old fashioned but very peaceful! Not a whole lot going on in Grassina. You would definitely need a car, but we did get the bus into Florence from the town (only €1.50 each way) one of the days, you just need to plan your return trip. Pool area nice to relax by.

I would say slightly too expensive for what you get.

great time!

The location is beautiful very private. the views are gorgeous The house we got was big the beds we comfortable . full kitchen with everything necessary full Bathrooms on each room

We drove there and the roads a extremely windy and narrow ( two way) but we got used to. One of the rooms didn’t have a fan on the roof and the a/c was not working Bring your towels for the pool. The provided towels enough for the bathroom

Don’t stay here unless you have a car

The location was beautiful.

The nearest bus and supermarket/shop is a 20 minute walk away. Very steep hill to get there and of course back up again. I wouldn’t recommend staying there without a car as it’s incredibly difficult. Taxi to Florence for reference between 20-45 Euro. The included “breakfast” was a packet of stale bread type biscuits left in the apartment. Every single night we were woken up by the other guests staying in the apartments. It’s incredibly noisy. We were told we were able to get lunch and dinner delivered to the accommodation but this turned out not to be true either. It was disappointing.

Lovely slice of Tuscany

Beautiful restored buildings, clean, good facilities. Short hilly walk into grassina with restaurants etc. Perfect for those who want a self catered stay in this fantastic location. Close 30 drive to Florence airport, many excellent surrounding hills , towns.

Exceptional

Borgo Bottaia is absolutely incredible!! Such a charming villa created of beautiful old stone located in the rolling hills of Tuscany! It was EXACTLY what we were looking for for our stay in Tuscany! The views were INCREDIBLE... better than views that we had at most wineries and dinners! The pool, staff, everything was top notch and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

A great place for vacation!

The location was great! Near the city but in the nature. We saw roe deer in the field. The place is very nice and quiet, very well restored and organised, very nice to relax and at the same time close to the old town and all the sights of Florence. Our family was very happy with the stay at Borgo Battaia and we will definitely come back again.

The road to the complex is narrow and twisty, but being in the Tuscan highlands, this is to be expected.

Beautiful, relaxing apartments and great pool

The apartments were very traditional and spacious. The views were beautiful and the pool was lovely, again with amazing views.

To walk into Grassina was quite a walk, and upon arrival we found very little there. We then realised that we'd need a car to get around (we thought we could get around by public transport easily). The accommodation and grounds were lovely, but we found the town disappointing with lack of places to eat and shop.

Perfect simple Tuscan escape close to city but quiet and peaceful

Second time of visiting. Beautiful pool in a beautiful setting just outside Florence. Simple and very clean apartments, cool in summer with mosquito net at windows, and lovely views. Friendly and quiet.

Week in tuscany

The location and facilities were great very peaceful and relaxing

Well a few obversations we didn't have a car so the taxi situation was very poor and it was a good 1.5 k walk to the village we thought if luigi had someone we could hire locally it would be a great help or even an electric bike for hire

I was at the wonderful haven of Borgo Battaia for 2 weeks in October this year to do some writing and to explore. It has the most enchanting views and in person the whole property and surrounding area is just breathtaking. Luigi and the staff were just wonderful and helpful and engaging and I look forward to brining my family here next time! Grazie Mille Luigi!

summer vacation

We had a wonderful time at borgo bottaia. It is beautiful located in a quiet area in the nature of tuscany, but also close to Florence, which is very fast to reach by car. The appartement is perfectly equipped, and especially the pool is very very nice with an amazing view. We felt very relaxed and enjoyed our stay so much. Thanks a lot to the very kind host, absolutely recommendable.

Florence vacation

The view was beautiful! It was at the top of a hill. The villa was very nice and the pool was great! The pool was close to all villas. The villa had all the kitchenware needed to cook all our meals. Plenty of living space for four people in a two bedroom villa. The atmosphere on the grounds was very inviting and relaxing. Tables and chairs outside so you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink outside. Luigi was a great host. He was very friendly and extremely attentive to our needs.

It was a little hard to get around without having a car. It was a bit of a walk to get down to the main streets.

Stunning place to relax and take in the culture, food and wine.

Scenery was stunning and the pool was excellent, making a perfect destination to relax. Florence was superb, and the surroundings were outstanding.

The local town didn't offer a great deal, both other than that I couldn't fault the place

Excellent experience in Toscana Valley

The Borgio Bottaia hotel is located 10km from Florence downtown in the middle of great Grassina valley (2km from Grassina City) is a group of many chalets, boungalows etc with excellent view of the valley, there is a laundry room open 24 hrs. Rooms very comfortable with Kitchenette. Luigi, our hosts, is pending of you every moment to help you.

Old world hamlet in the hill

Loved the tranquility, the views, the fresh air and private grounds. The hamlet is a beautiful and the country is picturesque. Staff is welcoming and accommodating. Rooms where very simple and clean but we had all we needed to cook and enjoy our peaceful stay. If you would like a few nights away from the city, this is the place to appreciate nature, some wine and just relax. Gratzi :)
