Everything! This was such a magical stay and I recommend everyone stays here if they can on their Costa Rica holiday. The rooms were beautiful, really comfy big beds and pillows. Food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. Especially the cacao sorbet! Delicious!! We did the chocolate making session which was such a highlight with the delightful Julian - very knowledgeable and charming. He also did the farm tour for us which we did before the chocolate making session- it was good to do in this order to appreciate the whole process. The cat and dog were also rather lovely companions! Do make sure you stay for two nights at least as then can fully appreciate everything. Oh, and the spa was a delight too!! And toucans and hummingbirds outside our cabin.
Nothing to dislike - absolutely perfect - and this was all on two heavy rainy days!

The location, the lodge is a hidden hem in the middle of the rainforest. The cabins are well equipped with amenities, have very comfortable beds, white towels, mosquito nets.
Better communication with staff. We were big group, some instructions at check in were confusing.
First we were told that there is only one dinner option, fixed menu with fish.
Later it turned out that several more options were available.

Finca Amistad has a wonderful, accommodating staff. We had a very special time planting a cacao tree for our daughter with Jordy, after which we had one of the best home cooked meals during our trip. Breakfast was also great, very generous (cheese empanadas, scrambled eggs, breads, fruits, Nutella spread, cheeses…). The area is filled with wildlife. We saw toucans and many other birds outside our room.
We also really enjoyed ending the nights at the wellness area jacuzzi with a glass of wine.
We highly recommend booking a night tour at Tapir Valley Reserve during your stay.
Overall, the place felt very special and we quickly fell in love with it, far exceeded our expectations and we will gladly return to see the progress of our tree.
Getting to the farm is a little challenging with unpaved road, but the feeling of going into a remote area away from city life was also welcomed.

Location and atmosphere were nice and very cool. Outside terrace also great and we liked the morning Cacao tour. The food was also really good. Overall a nice experience.
We found 10 cockroaches in our room and in our bed. Understandable to be surrounded by animals and insects in the middle of nature. However, we think that based on the price, the room should have been at least cockroach free. It was poorly isolated too, making the cabin very warm during the day and too cold during the night. Add to it the noise specially when raining.
