A lovely old coaching in with garden.
Good food and pleasant staff.
The hotel was badly let down by the quality of the room.
The very small double had no chairs or table, only a small stool, the curtains were torn and the toilet seat was split down the middle.

The size of our bedroom was rather small. I appreciate we were a couple but the room was incredibly small

Plenty of parking. Generous breakfasts. Friendly staff.
The fact that ended up paying a lot more for our 3 night stay by using Booking.com than I would have done if I had just gone straight to the hotel's own site. Very disappointing!!
The room was showing its age in many ways eg extractor did not work in internal bathroom, television very old with the wrong remote, blind in the velux window (the only window) was very worn and difficult to get to function, corridor floors and fire doors very noisy.

We were part of a group all staying to attend a local event. Great that we all managed to get in, and then enjoy the excellent breakfast together in the morning. A clean, comfortable and convenient stay.
Our room was directly above the bar, where there were still a number of people after a Christmas party. The noise only stopped at 2am. We only got back from our do at 1am, so not a huge issue, but it could have been for others.

Breakfast was overloaded and food was average

the breakfast was impressive , and I appreciated the welcome for guests with dogs .
I was very , very disappointed with the Saturday lunch Menu There was one vegetarian dish only -boring pumpkin -when the possibilities for a creative chef are amazing. There is an attractive lunch menu listed in the porch so I thought we would be well catered for, but they were not available nor any other interesting dishes on Saturday mid day .Pity we went elsewhere .

Great location, enjoyed our stay.
Tiny tiny quibble - the draught beer in the bar was Belhaven. Maybe I have become accustomed to a different style of beer, but this took me back to the 70's - frigidly cold, zero taste, like that terrible Manchester tinned beer with the widget. There must be better beers available. But I stress, this is a tiny tiny quibble.

Great breakfast and service by young member of staff
Room clean , comfy bed
Room was huge disappointment.allocated room 16 ,
No window to look out of, just a skylight.
Tired Old furniture. No socket for guests electrical appliances . Couldn’t even use my hairdryer or charge my phone in the room
Bathroom clean but door handle ill fitting had a hole around door handle, bathroom fan had same problem with gap between fan and ceiling
Booked dinner and requested a change of time which was declined.
As result cancelled meal reservation and went elsewhere
Drinks expensive - glass red wine over £10. Not good quality for price charged

From the moment we arrived we felt extremely welcomed by Billy, Cat, Amy and Rory. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our trip. The breakfast was nice (we loved the eggs benedict) and the hotel lobby and bar are lovely. We have never felt such incredible hospitality and would return in a heartbeat if we were to visit Scotland again. Thanks everyone for a fantastic stay!
