This was our first visit to Grand Haven, and the penthouse made our stay very enjoyable. Blake responded to my questions before, during, and after our stay. The location of this penthouse is fantastic for anything you would want to do in downtown GH. We had seven people, and the multiple bedrooms and the three-floor layout were perfect for the entire family. We used the 3rd-floor dining room to play games and enjoy the beautiful view. Here are some issues I have read about in these reviews and my personal experience(September 2023) The stairs: Yes, there are a lot of stairs. My husband and I used the main level, which has a queen bedroom that is private and also a full bathroom along with a kitchenette. Our kids used the 2nd and 3rd floors. If you don't want to use the stairs, you will not miss anything on the main level except the view off the 3rd-floor balcony. Carpets: I did not think the carpets looked dirty. I saw a stain on the 3rd floor, but that was it. Cleanliness: The bathrooms and kitchens were very clean. The cleaning service should pay closer attention to dusting, as I saw a few places that were not well dusted. We had an issue with the overhead lights on the main floor. I addressed it with the owner, who was aware of the issue and sent over lamps. That would be my only complaint about the whole unit.. the main floor was dark without those overhead lights working. The other floors were very bright. Would book this VRBO again!

There is a reason we have stayed here many times. The location is perfect. We did have a minor problem with parking passes, but Blake is always easy to get in touch with. And it was taken care of quickly. We never used the cars, because everything you need is very walkable. We hope to be back soon

We travel to Michigan every fall for a long weekend getaway with our son and daughter-in-law, and now grandson (7 months). We choose a different destination within the state each year. We have always enjoyed our stay wherever we've been, but this year was particularly exceptional. Grand Haven is a beautiful town in a gorgeous setting. Our rental was positioned to take advantage of every aspect of both. We were very impressed with the unit. While there are a few things that need to be repaired or replaced, overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to others looking for a wonderful stay in Grand Haven!

Good view (including the lighted fountain show) and easy walking access to many places. Short drive to others. The condo building was well maintained. Inside needed dusting, and there was sand on one of the couches. Carpet shows spills all over. Bring your own K-cups or ground coffee. The condo has 3 levels, and getting to the second level involves an extra long staircase. Third level is a very nice place to gather for eating, socializing, and relaxing.

August on Lake Michigan was beautiful. The property is a great location within walking distance of all Grand Haven has to offer. As mentioned in other reviews, the property needs a deep cleaning...carpets, kitchen floors, cabinets. It was "clean enough", but sticking to the kitchen floor isn't a good thing. The furnishings could use some updating. The counter stools were shaky, the couches were worn. The Kuerig did not work. The bedding was adequate, although some of the group felt the matteresses had seen better days. Many of the towels were "tired". Lights (overhead) were burned out. Thank you for sharing this property as a rental. Hopefully you will be able to address some of the maintenance issues during the "off season".

Our family had a great time on our recent stay as its a great location! Only downfall is lots of stairs but totally worth it for the beautiful view from top floor. Would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a great location with incredible view of the musical fountain!

Our family of 10 enjoyed our stay in July. Having 3 levels gave everyone their space to relax after a busy day exploring. Location is perfect! We watched musical fountain from balcony every night. One block over is downtown. Walk 1.5 miles down the boardwalk and your are at the beach. There are shops, ice cream, and restaurants along the way. We will definitely be back! Thank you Blake for a wonderful experience.

The condo’s location was awesome and the view of the canal and light show couldn’t have been more enjoyable The condo itself was well appointed but a little Mr Erase would have done wonders on the walls. Lots of scuff marks. We were very happy with our stay over all Other than bath soap everything was provided

Property was in an excellent location with a great view. Beds were comfortable and condo was clean but showing cosmetic wear and tear (carpet stains, in need of touch up paint). Some light switches could use to be replaced and quite a few lights were out. I messaged the owner who stated he would stop out and take a look, but never did as far as we know. Also the gas grill was out of propane. Still it did not hinder the enjoyment of our vacation.There are also quite a few steps (42 total) so anyone with knee, ankle or leg issues would be hindered. Plenty of space for our family. We loved the view and the musical fountain is much more enjoyable from the balcony with a drink in your hand. All in all we enjoyed the week and would stay again.

We were pleased with the cleanliness of the condo. Blake Born, owner, was very prompt and professional with any questions we had. We were extremely impressed by his consideration and thoughtfulness to place items we would need on EACH LEVEL for our enjoyment and convenience. These items included, coffee makers, dish ware, stemware, cookware, linens & towels, patio chairs, and more!! He even provided bonuses of wine toppers, and a popcorn stand on the 3rd level!! Nothing we needed was forgotten!! Only advice, if you’re bringing groceries, or lots of luggage, know you’ll have to use the elevator The views are amazing. The night time water show was breathtaking and can be viewed from the 3rd floor’s balcony.It truly is in the heart of downtown Grand Haven, and an ideal spot to visit the beach and local eateries We loved it so much that we are eager to return next year and the years to come!

Cannot beat this location and comfy balcony to sit & watch nightly fountain-music show; but there were a few things we noticed: carpet needs a serious cleaning (mainly top floor, but middle floor too); bathroom on middle floor does not lock so several uncomfortable interruptions while on toilet; washer/dryer on middle floor does not work well; overall top floor could use upgrades (rickety bar stools are scarey), pots & pans in top floor kitchen need replacing, top floor bathroom toilet takes long time to refill after flush;

Great property for our group of 9. We were a group of 3 families coming to Grand Haven for Soccer in The Sand. It was our 6th year in Grand Haven and this was our favorite VRBO so far. Can’t beat the location! Lots of space to stretch out and relax. Good communication with owner. Adequate parking. The only surprise was that the VRBO website indicated that one of the bedrooms had 2 queen beds, but it actually only had 1. The other queen bed was a pull out sofa on a different floor. It didn’t affect our trip, but just something to be aware of. Will definitely return!

Great condo for multiple guests, with three floors. Views of downtown Grand Haven and the Grand River out to the lake are really lovely. Just make sure you don't mind climbing stairs.

We had a bad experience with renting this property (through another site) last year. They double booked it and told us as our guests were arriving that they were out of luck. We did get our money back. This time we gave them the benefit of the doubt and rented it again December 21st to 28, 2022. Bad decision. Our guests drove all the way from the East coast and couldn't get into the condo by fault of the owner. I had to pay almost $500. to put them up in hotel rooms that night. When they did get into the condo~~one shower head broken, toilet paper dispenser ripped out of wall, bed broken, sliding glass doors letting snow in and freezing upper floor, no heat in the lower floor (where a bedroom is). To add insult to injury I have tried several times to reach the owner for partial refund to no avail. Will not rent from them again.

This was our 2nd year at the penthouse for New Years. Perfect location. We really didn't need to leave the condo but had to venture out to the local bars. Great spot to watch football and fireworks.

We had two couples and our son in the penthouse unit. It was perfect for our group, as everyone had their own space. We loved the top living area because it was so bright and we could see the lake, beautiful sunsets and the musical fountain from the deck. The location was great for strolling downtown and walking to the beach. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the great space!

Fantastic location and beautiful penthouse made our second stay at this property all we knew it would be. Plenty of room gave privacy for our teens and us! Only issue is the addition of an administration fee after booking our stay at the advertised rate.

Sleeping is for only six in beds. Air mattress did not hold air. Sleeper sofa did not work. Cannot beat the location. Excellent restaurants and easy walk to the lake. The three levels were perfect for us. The stairs were a challenge but were worth it for the location and the views of the sunrise and sunset over the Lake. Would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. As far as proximity to the Grand Haven restaurants and bars go, this condo is just perfect. We were within walking distance to so many great places (never had to actually leave the building to get to the local microbrewery/pub) and had quick access to the boardwalk and lighthouse pier for a great early morning run. The view of the lighted pier and holiday trees on Washington Ave at night from the third floor kitchen is breathtaking. I've been coming to this town for 50+ years and I’ve never had a better time!

This was perfect for our New Years stay in Grand Haven. Wonderful view of the ball drop and fireworks while warm and cozy with our friends. The penthouse was everything that was advertised when we booked. We laughed and ate alot but the flight of stairs helped justify the intake. Highly recommend.

Seven of us were looking for a fun place to stay downtown GH and we were overall happy with our choice. Close to everything, no need to drive or get an Uber. A couple of things to note were that there is only one queen bed (tho listing makes it look like 2 queen beds in one room)…not a deal breaker as 2 of our friends ended up not being able to make it. Also, you will get your steps in for sure! Main kitchen and living area is on 3rd floor. View is worth it tho! We all had a fabulous time and would definitely come back. Blake was great to work with and answered all our questions quickly.
