We had a lovely room, service was perfect—it was a romantic date night!

Immaculate room. Friendly staff. Great services and perks. Perfect location.

Stay was great. We originally received a very small room that had no view and faced the interior of the building, which was extremely claustrophobic. We went downstairs and they were able to accommodate and get us a room with a view. For the amount we spent every night (we don't do this often with our family) I was a little surprised how small the room was and how there was zero view for the first room, but we greatly appreciate the team helping us out and putting us in a new room.

I'm a long-time Marriott fan. Given that this is a JW Marriott, I expected everything to be top-notch. The location, entrance, lobby, front-desk staff, food delivery staff, and firm bed with lovely linens were all great.
The surprises were in the things that didn't work. The finishing touches were missing at this beautiful hotel in a beautiful neighborhood steps from the White House.
I'm a silver elite Marriott member and my travel partner is gold elite. We were placed in a room on the first floor that was quite small. The window looked out on the interior courtyard and the massive hvac structures. There was no natural light. As other reviewers said, we had plans every day we were there so didn't request a different room. The noise from the next room was loud and sounded like the people were in our room even though they were speaking in normal voices. The closet door didn't close because the latch was broken. There was a very old worn-out ironing board. The "room service" food was delivered early or on time by stellar delivery folks but it was clearly microwaved commissary food. When I checked in, I asked to use my Marriott credit card with Apple Pay. My new card was on the way, and the Marriott in San Francisco let me use it with Apple Pay. I've had a Marriott credit card and been a loyalty program member for 20+ years, but the front desk manager refused to let me use it without showing the actual card.
Stay at this beautiful hotel but avoid the issues above if possible.

Felt welcomed the moment I arrived. Check in people went above and beyond to give me room that was safe and functional for my disability. Friendly staff, asap delivery of room service with smiles and kindness. View was the best!! Such a relaxing time! Can’t wait to return!

Tried to get a credit for another day, since we had travel issues because of the snow and was told there was nothing they could do for me. Very disappointing.

They had a great bar. Perfect for our family

Original booking was made specifically for indoor pool for the kids. On arrival, the desk clerk actually laughed and said “they’re still using that trick?!” Very noisy room, no sound barriers for hallway noise or bathrooms. Cafeteria-like “restaurant,” slow, poor quality, expensive. Lots of hidden charges. Very disappointed.

So close to everything. Museums. Stores. Restaurants. Shopping. My kids loved the room and the lobby area.

The hotel staff was excellent! Friendly and always there to help. The hotel was clean and had everything you needed right there. The hotel needs to improve its hot water for the showers. After two minutes the water turns cold.

I was overall pleased with this property. The unit was nice and clean and the lobby was fabulous. However, the beds were a bit small and at the time we checked in there was no hot water. Thankfully the hot water was back on fairly quickly and did not cause an inconvenience. I would recommend.

Was not told when I checked in--or when I made the reservation--that I would be paying a $25 resort fee per room, per night. This was a surprise charge on my bill when I checked out. Not happy about the hidden fees.
Glad I paid extra for rooms with view. But windows in upper level rooms very small--and room itself is quite small. Noisy refrigerator in room, so we unplugged it.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. My only critique is how small the rooms are

Very awesome property and amenities. Great location and close to everything. Staff was highly attentive to our needs and was very punctual. The hotel and room was very clean, but I did deduct points due to my sheet having a slight stain and sink being clogged. The positive is that the staff came and corrected any complaints or concerns my family had.

Would have liked a heated pool .

$400+ a night plus $63 a day for parking does not get a free breakfast or free internet. Then I was charged $57.98 for a destination charge after we had been told everything was paid. This was for a breakfast that we never heard about. We are challenging this now.

The finishing of the hotel rooms are dated (old) small rooms. We chose it for the location and a special occasion but certainly not again.
The valet was overpriced.
Quite frankly it was disappointing and not what we expected at the nation’s capital.

We stayed for one night. It was a very nice hotel. centrally located and very convenient if you are visiting DC for the first time.

My only issue is that because the water is soft, it is hard to stay balanced taking a shower when the tub floor is not flat. It always felt slippery. Other than that, it was a great stay, close to every museum and restaurant in town.

It is a great hotel. The parking is a bit pricy, $63 a day.

we stayed for one night - great location, nice hotel, but very disappointing check-in process - our room was not ready until almost 2 hours after check-in time - we had a dinner reservation and asked the front desk to move our stuff to the room once it is ready and they assured us they will take care of it - we came back from dinner 2 hours later and we had to chase our luggage because front desk did not let the bellman know! - very disappointing communication and check - in process specially for this type of hotels -

Parking is always expensive around this area, then I can’t penalize the hotel, they are trying the best to face it
