The water of the shower is minimum if someone else is also showering. The showers are tiny. And you are basically sleeping on top of a club where the beds are trembling because of the bass.

Overall this was a great hostel. The staff was very nice! I found everything to be clean and pretty comfortable! Here are a few things I think everyone should know:
- CHARGERS: charging your devices may be a challenge. this is an older building, so there are not many outlets in the rooms. the ones that they provide have been so used that it’s difficult to get chargers to actually stay in the port. plan to charge elsewhere or have some sort of backup.
- NOISE: this is a party hostel, so there will be noise. however, i want to be clear: on the weekends the noise is unavoidable (especially on the first floor). during the week, i had no problem sleeping as i would just pop in my earphones. the hostel also provides ear plugs on request. however, on the weekend, the music was EXTREMELY loud until ~ 3am to the point that my bed was vibrating. not a huge deal for me, but i do think people should know!! if noise is a big deal for you, you might consider booking elsewhere.
- CLEAN and COMFORTABLE: everything was great otherwise! the kitchen and bathrooms areas were very clean and i saw no issues.

The kitchen was well-equipped, and the site required many keys to access the rooms, which made me feel very safe. The common room was a bit dark, and I had to wait a couple of minutes to get in, as there was no one at the service desk, which made it a little bit of a minus. But overall, it was a very pleasant stay!

Great stay, right in the heart of the city, excellent staff (so helpful and kind) and Oreo, the cat, is the sweetest! Loved my stay, would definitely come stay again.

Very secure place. There are lockers under the bed. Does the job of providing a warm place to sleep at low cost.

Bed was incredibly uncomfortable with no accessible outlets. They advertise that it’s loud all night and it really is.
I was only staying one night and was out early in the morning so it was good for the price but I wouldn’t stay here if I was staying any longer.

The employees were really friendly and nice.
My bank need was considerably comfortable.
The building is quite old, the floors are old and crooked, quite noisy.
The showers, toilets and sinks were clean, but they abuse the use of bleach, it smells really strong.
I hadn’t stayed in a hostel in many years, it was nice but I’m old for this type of accommodation.
I would recommend the place, but for anyone between 18 and 30 years old.
Price is reasonable, much is than a hotel price.

Not the best hostel, but not the worst. It’s a pretty old building and isn’t in great condition. It’s not super clean, but also not gross. It is pretty noisy at night as it’s over a bar. We were on the second floor and could still hear music all night. The kitchen is probably the worst part; it’s very small and poorly stocked. The location is good and for the price it’s not bad, but I was glad when it was time to check out and probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The Cambie is conveniently located and always affordable. I always enjoy staying there.

The cat is a good addition. The staff and the roommates are okay. But if you need to sleep quiet this is horrible, since the lower floor is a night club. Also if you have large baggage, be careful and strong enough to carry it up to the third floor. Overall good amenity and facility for short stay but you can never sleep well

Got what was paid for. It is not as good as other hostels but it is the oldest (I think) so it’s a little cheaper I think. Could do a little better at cleaning the sheets.

The location was close to everything downtown like BC Place and Roger’s arena. It’s close to most bust stops and is about 10 mins from the subway that takes you to the airport. It’s a pretty old building and sits above a bar so it can be loud. It’s run down however the staff do work hard to keep it clean and are friendly. The homeless run that area though which is really unfortunate.

Great location, but that's all.
The music is so loud from the bar downstairs, until 2am, that the bed frame rattles.
Of course the standard hostel things apply. Snorers, drunken people coming in at 5am, creaky floorboards.
Ok for one night I suppose.

It is OK. It is old, but is kept very clean. Quiet. Near Gastown and not far from the cruise ship docks. OK for a night to catch your ship the next day.
