It was peaceful and everything was just a walk away, we really didn't have to use our truck at all, it is pet friendly and amazing customer service

The hotel was not what it showed on the website. As far as Galveston goes it was awesome.

The front desk Staff was friendly/accomodating.
Major Problem area: Cleanliness!
I recommend if you come to Galveston that you look at the room where you want to stay before you book it, because once you book you probably won't get a refund if you change your mind. I got there but failed to look at the room prior to booking.
First, the room was dirty and had a terrible odor. The bedspreads looked like they hadn't been washed in weeks. I lifted the bedspread to check the sheets and ...whoa!! The top sheet had a huge spot resembling bodily fluid. "Check please." I can't believe housekeeping would put that sheet
on the bed. That should have been caught upon collection and disposed of, not washed. That begs the question about the quality of the Staff. I took the sheet to the office. All I could think about was "COVID." I didn't feel comfortable with touching any surface in the room, let alone sleeping there, so I checked into another hotel.
I admit I stayed there when it was "Beachcomber Inn" and it was much better but now it was like night and day. Maybe it was that particular room (138) but it left a negative impression for the hotel overall. For your health and safety, Do not stay in room 138! My suggestion: clean the carpet, walls and doors, and replace the broken lamp. Remember, look before you book. If you're military related check out afvclub.com. And now, the automated hotel response...

Everything was ok until it was time to get into the bed, the blanket had someone’s hair tangled on it. Slow water drain in tub.

Perfect stay for work travels

Stayed during spring break. The room was run down and in disrepair. Appeared to be mold on the ceiling. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. Phone did not work. Room was refreshed if requested.

It’s a motel and cheap so not much to be said but had a good time and would book again .

By far the best budget hotel in Galveston. The front desk always provides very good customer service and is very courteous.

The room had a smell which was terrible and there was blood stains on the wall. Only stayed in the room 2 minutes and went to front desk and canceled the room.

Overall good for needs. Would like to see updates but price covers basics.

Enjoy our stay, very reasonable for 1 night prior to a cruise. Older hotel, staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, clean. Just an older bldg and older carpet.

Terrible experience with this hotel. Booked through Expedia/Orbitz when the hotel was The Beachcomber and had free cruise parking. It was changed to a Motel 6, so I called when I discovered this to verify the cruise parking would still be free. They confirmed over the phone it would, even with a 3rd party booking. Arrived at the hotel and was informed that all Expedia bookings had been canceled (folks checking in in front of me had the same issue). Odd, because nobody called me or refunded me. I had to contact Expedia to get them to refund my money after they then had to call the hotel and verify the hotel in fact canceled my booking. Of course they would let me book at the new rate and pay $10/day to park, how very nice. I got my refund and left this horrible, mismanaged hotel. Whoever manages this hotel should be absolutely ashamed of this excuse for customer service.

It’s what you expect from a galvaston hotel. Somewhere to crash and not get bed bugs, the room was wonderful and very clean but needed some touch ups in the walls and a few updated (non broken) pieces of furniture.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Beachcomber and both times I have been pleased. It is an older motel but it is clean, close to the beach and 61st St pier and the service is good as well. This time we just needed a place to stay the night before we left for our cruise and the free parking was a great extra.

I was looking for the Beachcomber and it has changed hands and is now a Motel 6. Overall the experience was good. My son and I went to tour the Battleship Texas and were tired from the 14 hour drive. I stopped at a Motel 6 to ask directions to the Beachcomber Hotel and was pleased to find out I was there. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a good trip.

I booked the Beachcomber and when I arrived the hotel had changed to Motel 6. I was never informed about this and only found out when we arrived. They said my reservation should have transferred over to Motel 6 but they couldn't find it for a long time. They finally found it but they weren't sure about the payment that I made through Expedia if it would transfer over. It was a huge mess!

We stayed at the Beachcomber once or twice before without issues and chose to stay again Thanksgiving night and the day after for our yearly holiday festivities. The grounds are clean, the pool is maintained, all rooms are non-smoking, the staff is friendly and it is a good location within walking distance to the seawall. The facility is older and it appears the bathroom has been updated since our last visit. The first night the people in the room next to us were very loud and smoking in their room. The room had a shared inside door, so the smell was coming into our room. Around 10:30 at night it was quiet and the smell stopped. The loudness and smoking started up the next morning about 9 am. We packed our things and went to the office and let them know how our first night was. The lady was very nice, apologized and gave us a new room, away from last nights.
That night was much better. No loud neighbors and no smoking. The new room appeared to have a few more updates than the previous one with newer bed coverings and updated bathroom. Both rooms were clean.
We checked out from our second night with no issues. Several hours later after doing activities in Galveston we were on the way home and over 20 miles from the hotel when we discovered, after checking my suv, our son left his stuffed animal at the hotel room. I called and spoke to a young man who checked and did not see it. After searching my suv again and not sure whether to return to the hotel to check ourselves I called

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Was surprised by a cash deposit required at check-in. Was a good value for the price.

For an overnight stay the hotel was OK - nothing fancy - run down hotel, needs to be updated - staff was very nice but slow due to the fact of training a new employee. Close to the seawall so that was nice

They said you get what you pay for, but I expected a bit more than what I got. Room was very damp and smelled of mold for the entire stay, the tv could not turn off nor could I adjust the volume, there was no shower curtain, and the sink was clogged up. Probably the worst hotel I ever stayed it.

The first thing was when I walked into the room they didn’t take the garbage out from the last people that was there. The second thing is the carpet was very sticky feeling like it has been clean in a bit. The third was the fiberglass tub bottom had three cracks in it and the last they didn’t come in and clean up the room in the morning.

Musty smell when entering room, deteriorated furniture and cleanliness not to standard

Ask for a deposit that was double the room price. Found dead cockroaches in the room. Flooring isn’t level at all. Staff was extremely rude and unhelpful.

Quiet, service was great, days double queen but more like full size beds, tv extremely small and the comforters are very thin blankets big enough for one person. Room had a funny odor sort of like a stale musty odor. Pool looked beautiful but too cold to try out.

Was a great place close to the beach for a great price! I asked to trade decaf coffee for regular and the lady at the desk gave me triple the amount of regular. The women working there are super helpful.

Good price. Convenient location.

There were someone's fake fingernails in the sink drain. The fitted sheet was torn on the bottom corner and wouldn't stay on. Other than that for the price it was fine. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. Chec in and out were flawless.

Staff was very friendly. Room was fine but overall could use some updating. I would willing to stay here again

We checked in and found out we couldn’t get in the bathroom . The maintenance man worked on trying to get the door open to no avail . They moved us to a room with two full sized beds instead of one with a queen. Ask for a reduction in price said have to check with the
