It felt such a privilege to stay in this historic, beautifully furnished and well maintained apartment. It is perfectly located. We loved coming home there to rest after our explorations in the streets of Firenze. The windows opening over Santa Croce provide a spectacular view and are perfect for people watching from on high! We felt so welcomed to the apartment and very comfortable to make contact during our stay to ask for help. We would certainly want to stay there again and will recommend it to others.

This place is definitely the most comfortable, hospitable, home away from home in firenze. We will definitely be back to stay if theyll have us, the next time we come to visit.

We arrived at about 8:30 PM (20.30) and were cheerfully greeted by Michela! We got thorough instructions for everything in the apartment. The apartment was exceptionally clean. The view of Santa Croce was beautiful! The piazza is busy and noisy thru most of the night. A deep sleeper or earplugs solve the problem just fine. The beds were comfortable and there are extra sheets and blankets which was nice since we were there for 2 weeks. The pillows were a little flat and harder than I’m used to….but I don’t know if that is just an international thing. Wasn’t a deal breaker, but I’m used to a down feather pillow. The bathroom is fairly roomy and has a shelving unit to hold several peoples toiletries. The hot water worked great and I think there is a tankless water heater. The water pressure in the shower was much better than I expected for old water pipes! The shower is a little small (but probably just by US standards) and has an adjustable spray, removable hand held spout which I really like. The toilet was quite normal and easy to use. There is also a bidet. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed for the occasional meals we cooked in the apartment. The living room couch could be a little more comfy…. But it was fine. There was a drying rack to dry the clothes we washed out by hand. The 98 stairs up to the apartment are nothing to sneeze at (especially for 2 over 65 yr old travelers) but are quite doable and so worth it for the wonderful view. We opened the windows on the warmer evenings and enjoyed the sounds and smells of Florence. The bells from Santa Croce and from the Duomo bell tower can be heard in the morning and throughout the evening. There is a coffee and gelato shop on the ground floor and there are several eateries around the piazza. There are a couple a small grocery stores just a few blocks away. We walked EVERYWHERE we went and never needed a taxi or bus except to and from the airport. A small map of Florence was VERY handy…..like the one that comes in Rick Steves Tuscany and Florence guide book. We used Google maps and Google translate also. Michela contacted us to assist with a taxi reservation back to the airport at the end of the stay. It was a wonderful unit to stay in and we had an absolutely wonderful time on out 2 week art history and architecture trip to Florence. Grazie mille, Michela and Serena!

The View!
The View!
Our five days here exceeded our expectations even with all the great reviews that we read that helped us choose this location. The view of Basilica Santa Croce is amazing. There are great bars and restaurants nearby and within walking distance of all the primary destinations people are wanting to see in Florence. The host, Serena, is extremely accommodating and gave many great recommendations. Letizia welcomed us when we arrived, gave suggestions for things to do/eat, and assisted us upon our departure. The stairs to the flat can be daunting but well worth it in my opinion. We also read reviews about the noise level at night which we did experience but it did not bother us we took it in as part of the experience. If that is bothersome for some I suggest to take ear plugs. It is all worth the view.

A Room with an *Unbelievable* View
A Room with an *Unbelievable* View
Prior to our visit, Serena was exceptionally communicative and helpful as we planned out our trip. Letizia, who checked us in, was incredibly helpful with our bags. Yes, there are several flights of stairs, but having read the description and reviews carefully beforehand, we were well-prepared for the steps and did not mind them as the apartment has spectacular views. The apartment has everything you need for your stay and is immaculate. We happened to arrive on June 24 - the festival of San Giovanni - and had the best seats possible for the Calcio Fiorentina. It was truly a spectacle that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The fireworks that night far surpassed the usual U.S. 4th of July events. I would absolutely stay in Serena's lovely flat again. Letizia also helped us to get a taxi to the train station when we left, which was very much appreciated. Thank you Serena and Letizia!

Seeing Florence and Italy like a native
Seeing Florence and Italy like a native
This was my second trip to Italy. The first was with a tour and I wasn’t satisfied with the limits on where and when we went. My daughter, Grandaughter and I returned to see Italy on our terms. We chose this apartment as our base. It was a wonderful choice. The apartment was just as described. It is spotlessly clean and has everything you need to make this your home away from home. The views from every window is breathtaking. There was always a taxi downstairs when we needed to go to the train station. There are enough museums and churches in walking distance to have kept us busy the entire 2 weeks we were there however. Restaurants and shopping are all close by. A grocery store just a couple of blocks away. The location is perfect. As mentioned in previous reviews there are stairs. I planned a knee replacement before my trip, COVID cancellation for elective surgeries saw that postponed. The stairs were still doable. I walked down in the morning and at the end of a day of walking I would take the chair lift back up. Noise is also mentioned in previous reviews. Friday and Saturday nights were the only nights the noise was really noticeable. Maybe we were just so tired we slept like rocks. The only suggestion I do have for this otherwise perfect apartment, is the seating. A nice comfortable chair to curl up in to enjoy your coffee and the view is the only thing I wished for the entire 2 weeks I stayed here. I am already talking to my daughter about returning after my knee replacement. Maybe next year. Annalisa was wonderful. She met us at the apartment and helped with our luggage, showed us around and told us where to find the grocery store. She gave me her number for any questions we had and responded quickly with answers. I do intend to return. Do not hesitate to choose this lovely apartment for your trip to Florence. A. Liles
