Alles Tip Top.

The room was neat and clean. The hotel staff was friendly but very casual.
I am from India and this was my first hotel stay abroad, particularly in a country like US and city like New York which are known for cosmopolitan culture. Though the hotel was good, not allowing smoking is what I didn't like some what. Further, I chose complimentary breakfast as part of my booking but the options were too little unlike India where you are offered buffet breakfast. The quantity of water being provided is very less and they don't replace water in the room unless asked. The way customers are treated here in this hotel was different from India where customers are treated with utmost respect and caring. Here they were just casual with me and I couldn't get that vibe of feeling special.

Location was great easy to get to destinations I wanted to see mostly within walking distance or a short train ride. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was great. Loved the coffee in the morning and Prosecco in the evening was a nice touch. Overall I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
I would skip the breakfast here next time. Definitely not worth the extra money spent.

The mattress and pillows were more comfortable than home.
A little pricey.

From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The front desk employees were over accommodating, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was top notch. The decor and vibes of the
decor were so inviting and peaceful. A glass of Champagne added a nice touch to check-in.
Room was very nice, beds sooo comfy. The shower was invigorating. Very clean.
Cant say enough about the staff. Robert Pechnilbutr, guest relations manager and Jonathan Anzurez, Operations Manager went above and beyond to welcome ourselves and guest coming in the door. They were so very happy we were there and assisted to our every need. They should be commended!
There was nothing we disliked. Will be back to this property many times in the future.

I’ve always loved this property however it is clear that everything here has gone downhill
lobby, elevator, hallways & room had an odor that I can not describe. one of the things I always liked about the Gild was the way it smelled but this trip something was off. it was almost like they were trying to mask an odor that just wouldn’t go away. additionally the room was stifling hot & the thermostat could not be adjusted, the head of the bed was lower than the foot of the bed which made sleeping uncomfortable (we even changed rooms & it was still like that) The tile around the toliet was dirty. the light in the elevator was out / there was only 1 working - I had a bunch of stuff I was carrying - only to enter a pitch dark elevator . I had to put all my stuff down to locate my flashlight on my phone so I could find the buttons to get to my room . when I told the front desk they seemed pretty unconcerned . finally , no breakfast room service - they always had great room service for breakfast but I couldn’t even get a pot of coffee. super disappointed in the Gild this time around - probably won’t be back .

Convenient location in the Financial district.
They provide 2 water bottles upon arrival, which was really nice. Mini bar had literally everything, even the "lovers" kit :-)
A restaurant in the building (but it was always busy, hard to get a table).
Rooms are a little dark and outdated, but not critical.
The deposit charge is $100 per night (not $100 for the whole stay), so plan accordingly.

Perfect location to walk everywhere in the financial district. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, One World Observatory, Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial, ground zero. The room is a good size for New York, the room had hardwood floors, which was fantastic for being clean. The bathroom was a good size with great water pressure. From the room you could hear nothing outside, very quiet. Checkout at noon is also very convenient. I can't say anything negative about this hotel and the restaurant on site is one of the best, if not the best, Italian restaurants I have eaten at outside of Italy!
Nothing, the hotel really did exceed every expectation.

Location was in primetime in the Financial District. Close to some famous sights!
I wish we had a better view but the stay was great!!

good location, great restaurant, comfortable beds, very clean.
A few things didn’t work that we had to calm to get fixed. They were good about sending maintenance though.

Our checking left a lot to be desired. We were rushed through with no instructions not even a mention of the room we were in. We had to ask the porter. Not a great start.
Then the room smelt of smoke, was tired and situated by a very noisy lift. Not the room that was marketed.
We requested a move which was accommodated.
A better room although still very tired. When you are paying £300 per night with no breakfast or dinner you do expect a certain quality of room. There are lots of charges that are added on to your bill which are not clear when you book. Watch out for the additional tax. Our bill went from £1800 to
A whopping £2000 in a heartbeat!
I’m afraid the Gild Hall does not live up to the expectations and needs to be reevaluated in terms of stars.
As the title states we we were very disappointed.

Good hotel, nice and central location in quite area , great rooms with cozy beds and chrome cast tv’s.
We had a nice and big room on the 10th floor (104) - there was unfortunately a lot of noice coming from the street/outside due to bad windows and the door. The service level in the restaurant was inconsistent and bad, only two waiters out of 10 was providing a sufficient and good service within our 6 days stay. The waiters kept forgetting what we had ordered, and same for the beverages. The breakfast was good but not fantastic, the dinner quality was better.
Upon check out we noticed that the hotel had charged us very wrongly compared to booking.com.

Staff was friendly and it was a relaxed welcoming atmosphere
breakfast in the on-site restaurant was poorly staffed

well located - v near to all downtown attractions.
breakfast was included in the price (but at an additional cost to room only) but when we got there the options were limited and of a lesser volume and offering than those paying for breakfast at source which is not good. The breakfast service was slow.

- location (close to few subway stations)
- hotel staff (nice and helpful)
- bed (big and comfortable)
- breakfast
- water pressure in shower
- dark room without a view
- air conditioning (not working properly)
- restaurant in the hotel is nice but without the light (people using flashlights to be able to read a menu...)
