Great location and beds were fine. We were in a shared dorm which was what was expected and was a good price compared to similar locations in hotels.
The only slight negative was that our beds were near the door which kept banging and so while it didn't matter too much for a one night stay, it would have been less good if we were there for longer.

It stayed open for late check in. It was easy to store the luggage and leave once checked out. Check in and check out were quite easy. I liked the asian restaurants nearby. I appreciated the curtain in my bunk bed
The room was not very big, I could not sleep for long because a lot of light would enter through the window. I was also not certain whether I ha d to bring my own shower soap or whether I should keep my towel.

The elevator wasn’t working but that allowed us to get our steps in!

I've stayed at this hostel at least three times now and the location is fantastic - just between South Station and the Boston Common. This, and the fact the hostel belongs to the HI network, are the reasons why I choose it. I also like how bathrooms and shower rooms are set up - one per dorm plus additional ones in the hallway if the dorm bathroom is occupied. They provide lots of privacy and there are bath mats so you can keep the bathroom clean. Overall, the hostel is pretty clean. I also like the little shop with souvenirs and necessities that's located by the reception.
The common areas don't feel cozy enough. It was rather cold in the dorm, and the floor is stone/concrete/something, so it adds to the coldness. The charging socket in my bed didn't work and wasn't set up for the European socket adapter I had. It's a shame the hostel doesn't do free breakfast anymore!
