Location is superb if wanting to use Berchtesgaden as a 'hub' to branch out for day trips around the area (Eagles Nest, Königssee, Hintersee etc.) as the walk to the bus station (which takes you to all of the above) is only a minutes walk , with the walk into the town centre being only few minutes more. Both the staff member on reception for check in and check out where VERY friendly, incredibly helpful and informative and accommodated my request to store my luggage after check-out (as well as before check-in, however that wasn't needed in the end as my room was already ready, nice and early in the day!). The hotel has a restaurant/beer garden attached and whilst I didn't eat there at any point, the beer garden was greatly appreciated to enjoy a beer or two after a long days excursion including, to my delight a traditional German two-man band one afternoon who were then joined by 'Schuhplattler' dancers. Wonderful experience, would definitely stay here again WHEN (not if) I return to Berchtesgaden.
