About this condo rental
The apartment, renovated on 2016, is on the first (in USA, the second) floor a building in the lovely quarter of Prati with a panoramic view of the Vaticano from the windows of the bedrooms. The building is a typical roman mansion block with elevator. This location is perfect for those who want to reach by foot the Vatican Museums and Saint Peter’s or reach any other main sites by public transportation. The apartment is only 5 minute walk from the Vatican Museums and Saint Peter's. The Metro station line A (Ottaviano/San Pietro station) is just out side the building and it will take you in few minutes in Spanish Steps or Piazza del Popolo (the trendy and famous fashion district). Around the building: restaurants, gelato, banks, supermarket, pharmacy, bars, souvenirs shop, tobacconist, travel agency. You will find a daily, open-air market within a short walking distance which offers fresh fruit and flowers along with local wares and crafts. The neighboring streets have a variety of stores, restaurants, pizzeria as well as beautiful residences. This apt. has got a MUNICIPAL PERMISSION from the city council of ROME for tourist rentals. The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people; newly re-furbished throughout with new bathrooms and kitchen with wooden floors and air conditioning in each room. Accommodation consists of living and dining room with a kitchen, a table with 6 chairs, a sofa, TV/Satellite and air conditioning. Newly fitted kitchen with oven, gas hob, kettle, washing machine/dryer, fridge and freezer, dishwasher. There are two bedrooms and two newly decorated ensuite bathrooms (both offer shower, washbasin, toilet, hair dryer). Bedrooms have air conditioning, double-glazed windows (not only double panels) to guarantee a good night's sleep, comfortable beds (2 king beds -160 x 190 cm - and 1 single bed – 80 x 190 cm –), ample linens and bath towels. The flat offers a cell, free internet service for all day and a computer, so guests don’t need to bring their own laptop or look for Internet cafes at odd hours to keep in touch with home. Transportation from and to the airport can be organized. Driver will be out side the custom (no problem if your flight is not on time and run late) with the sign with your name and will take you directly to the apartment. Check in time at 12 p.m., check out on the day of departure at 10 a.m. (unless there is a different mutual agreement). Rates include the cost of utilities (gas, A.C., electricity, heating, hot water). No security deposit. Available May 1, 2009. A deposit is required upon booking. Balance will be paid at check in. I recently stayed here with a couple of family members and had an excellent stay. Carla was a great host and the check in process was super smooth. The apartment is as advertised and had plenty of space. Apartment was very clean. You cannot beat the location (Prati neighborhood). About 5 minutes to the Ottaviano metro, which can take you to other parts of Roma in minutes. About a 10 minute walk to Vaticano and St Peters. Plenty of options to eat nearby. We frequently ate downstairs for breakfast (Palomba) where we became friendly with the staff. Carla was easy to connect with via WhatsApp, she was kind enough to give me updates about train strikes. I will definitely come back with family next time I go to Roma.

What a wonderful stay in Rome. The apartment was exactly as promised, clean, comfortable and perfectly located. The host Carla met us when we arrived and was very helpful. Her recommendations for restaurants was perfection. The location is prime, you are next to the Vatican and the restaurants and cafes in the immediate neighborhood were all very good.
Highly recommend! Carla also facilitated transportation from the airport and to our cruise ship after our stay. Ten days after we left, we found ourselves needing transport from the ship back to the airport, a call to Carla and all was set. She is the perfect host!

There is really not much more to add that other reviewers have not mentioned. We were 2 "senior" couples, who stayed for 3 nights. Elevator was a big plus as one of our group has mobility issues. The location was good and there were plenty of eating opportunities at reasonable prices. We were in walking distance of the Metro, taxi stands and the Vatican. The shower and toilet areas were a bit small, but did not detract from the stay. Special mention goes to Carla, who could not have been more helpful! One of our group was a victim of pickpockets on the Metro and she helped us sort out how to get to the US Embassy for an emergency passport. She was able to arrange a driver to take us to the airport even though most were busy with Ryder Cup rides.

Carla, the property owner was fantastic! Even though our flight arrived a little late Carla was there to greet us with a smile. Since this was our first time in Roma, Carla shared information to make our visit easier. The property was in a fantastic location with great dining and transportation in walking distance. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.

The apartment was in a perfect location for our itinerary! It's just a short walk from Vatican City. There is a wonderful bakery on the corner, and a delicious restaurant about 50 feet away.
Another convenience was the metro line about two blocks away.
I highly recommend you stay here, if you want to explore Rome.

Super clean and near metro and bus stops. For lir stay that metro line was not in service, but the busses were fine. Use MA15 bus between Ottaviano and Termini. Short walk to Vatican museum and St. Peter's.

Couldn't have asked for a better location. About one block to the subway and just a little further to the Vatican making it a great landing spot for experiencing all that Rome has to offer.
The apartment was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Carla us feel right at home.
Speaking of Carla, enough can't be said on how she not only made the apartment ready of us, but helping us with sites around Rome and even arranging airport transportation for are early fight home.
This was our first trip to Italy. When we return, we will not hesitate is renting this apartment again. Furthermore, we will search out accommodations managed by Carla knowing we will receive top notch service and care. She is a star.

What a wonderful place! Location is great. Carla is awesome and was a huge help getting us settled in. The shop downstairs is great for breakfast and/or an afternoon drink (the sandwich’s are pretty good too.) The people are super nice. The restaurant across the street is great for pizza. We truly had a wonderful experience.

The location of this property was perfect. We had 6 of us in total and stayed 3 per room. 2 grandparents (80yr), 2 parents (50yr) one teen (14yr) and one nephew (26). Carla was a super helpful host, answered all our questions. Apartment was clean, and updated. I highly recommend this property. We also used Massimo, the driver for many trips and that worked out perfectly as well.

We stayed at Carla’s apartment near the Vatican and found it to be a nice area of town. It was very convenient to the Ottaviano metro station which was our primary mode of transportation. The space was perfect with good sized bedrooms. The building and neighborhood was great. The air conditioning was strong( not always true in our European travels). The beds were firm which isn’t our preference but seems the norm in Europe. Thanks, Carla, for being so responsive and helpful.

We spent six nights at this wonderful apartment during the first week of October 2022. The accommodations for five adults were perfect. There were two large separate bedrooms, each with queen beds, a twin bed and ensuite bath. Lots of space for hanging clothes. Large common area/kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals. 1st floor (US 2nd floor) apartment is easily accessed. We only used the small elevator to move luggage on the days we arrived and departed. All of this is as described in the VRBO listing.
Location was great. Metro station on the next block will get you wherever you want to go in Rome. You can walk out the front door and see the walls of Vatican City. St. Peter's Square is about a 10 minute walk. The apartment is surrounded by dozens of bars, restaurants, small "supermarkets" and just about anything you need during your stay.
The hostess, Carla, was extraordinary. She spent over on hour with us the day we arrived. She went over the operation of all appliances in the apartment such as the dishwasher and washer/dryer. She made sure we were connected to Wi-Fi. And, she gave us lots of tips as to the best places to eat, including her favorite gelato stands. Carla sat with us at the kitchen table and marked all of these places on a map for our later use. She even sent us a photo of one the gelatos stands with the address after she left us at the apartment. She also left us her telephone number and made she we could communicate via WhatsApp if we needed her during our stay. She even walked us to the local pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist on our behalf to arrange for pre-cruise Covid testing!
Carla also arranged a driver for us. We used this service on four different trips, including to the cruise port at Civitavecchia. The driver(s) were courteous and on-time. Their costs were comparable to other car services we had researched.
We've stayed at many vacation properties and Carla is the best hostess ever. On our next visit to Rome, we will definitely stay with her at this property or any of her others. Grazie Carla for helping to make our stay a memorable one!

This place was a fantastic place for 4 adults! Carla was so helpful with information on places to see, shop and buy groceries and even arranged transportation to the airport.
We loved having two bedrooms with the two bathrooms. Location is excellent!

The layout of this apartment is one of the things that makes it so perfect for two couples or perhaps parents with older children. The two large ensuite bedrooms offer individual privacy but both open out on the common area with couch, chairs, table and well-equipped kitchen. Lots of light. Carla was very welcoming and gave a comprehensive and clear introduction to the apartment, including the easy-to-use washer and dryer. The real crowning joy of this apartment for us was the small bar Palomba directly below us on the street. The guys there were always happy to see us in the morning for coffee or in the evening for drink to end the day.

Fantastic place in a great area near Vatican City. Right near a major metro station for both buses and trains. Carla couldn’t have been more helpful and she is very responsive. Had a great stay and there were a great assortment of pots/pans/ cooking basics in the kitchen.

Carla could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. The unit was just as it was listed and then some. The location was exactly where we wanted to be and getting around was easy. Having the cafe just downstairs was great! All the extras she provided was fantastic, laundry detergent, condiments and ice in the freezer. Thank you a million times for a wonderful place to stay that felt like “home”.

We had a lovely stay in Carla's Tunisi apartment, located literally steps from the Vatican Museum entrance. The apartment was perfect for a family of 5, with 2 air conditioned bedrooms (one with an extra single bed) and 2 full bathrooms.
Carla was a lovely host, who arranged our transport from the airport and allowed us to leave our luggage while the apartment was being cleaned for us, as we arrived in the morning. We would highly recommend the Tunisi apartment. Thank you Carla!

FABULOSO!
We had the most amazing time in Italy, thanks to Carla's VRBO apartment! Unfortunately, THIS is not the apartment we ended up renting from Carla. Due to a last-minute change in our plans, Carla offered us her other apartment, listing #2868046, which I encourage you to view as well, especially if the Vatican is on your must-see list. But VRBO only let's us leave a review for the places in which we stay, so I have to leave my review here. NO DOUBT, this apartment is JUST AS GREAT as the other, so I highly encourage you to rent this! But if it's not available, look at the other listing!!
First about Carla: she is very friendly, speaks very good English, and was responsive to all our questions (through the VRBO site), both about the apartment and Rome, as this was our first trip to Italy. Carla is also very thorough and meticulous about the apartment, which was very clean and charming when we arrived. She met us there to show us all we needed to know; and she also provided us a city map and gave us recommendations for restaurants and more.
As for the apartment (again, listing #2868046), it was spacious and comfortable for our family of 5, which includes our 2 grown sons and our young daughter. The beds and furniture were also comfortable. And it was terrific having AC, a washing machine, WiFi, and a fully-equipped kitchen (including a kettle for my morning tea).
We felt safe in the neighborhood, even at night. We were thrilled with its proximity to the Vatican Museums (you can't get any closer!), a fabulous restaurant across the street, and the pastry shop on the corner for pastries and coffee in the morning, not to mention the Ottaviano Metro stop just a short walk away.

Fantastic Location and a Lovely Apartment
It has a fantastic location - it is located between the Ottaviano Metro stop and Vatican City. We found it to be extremely convenient to the Ottaviano station (<2 blocks), and it was only a few blocks farther (in the other direction) to either St. Peter's Square or the entrance to the Vatican Museums. There are multiple restaurants (pizzerias and trattorias) less than one block from the building's front door. There is a bakery one block away for morning baked goods and coffee, and immediately below the flat is a small cafe with various food and beverage options, including sandwiches. Grocery stores are slightly farther, but still an easy walk.

Great apartment near the Vatican!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the subway, taxi stands, the Vatican (both the museum entrance and St Peter's square), and with tons of great places to eat around. The apartment was also in great condition with comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms, great air conditioning (which was a must during the summer in Rome!), and all the amenities we needed.
Our host was also very accommodating. She helped setup transportation to and from the airport (although do be aware the drivers accept only cash so you will want to get some Euros before departing the airport), provided us with a map of the city, and gave us some great insights to use on our short trip.
The location of the apartment was a great place to start our tourist activities each day. It was certainly more convenient for activities near the northwest part of Rome, close to the Vatican. However, transportation was very simple and we are able to get to the most well-known tourist attractions very easily with multiple transportation options available. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Rome and if I return I would certainly be interested in renting it again!
