About this cottage rental

Located in Blackheath, this attractive cottage for $276 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Nestled at the base of Mount Blackheath, the 100 acre property is surrounded by magnificent Blue Mountains escarpments, peaceful forest and open grassland. Kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, wombats and myriads of birds at your doorsteps, and a frog chorus at dusk, this is truly a nature lover paradise and birdwatcher heaven. THE STUDIO Designed and built by Australian Potter John Robertson using natural materials and recycled timber, combining rustic simplicity and comfort, the studio is completely off the grid, solar powered, with natural spring water on tap. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, a shower room and a separate composting toilet, an open plan kitchen and living rooms with 2 Nectre wood fireplaces and large veranda to enjoy the views. Eco friendly materials are used wherever possible: organic (OEKO-Tex® certified) linen bedding; Australian made wool quilts, mohair throws and duck down pillows; quality cotton towels, hot water bottles and hand knotted woollen Persian rugs are all provided for your comfort. PLEAS NOTE This is TV and Wi-Fi free retreat. 3G/4G mobile receptions are available however we encourage our guests to switch off their mobile devices and instead take a walk around the astonishingly beautiful Kanimbla Valley. Bring your bicycles and go for a ride, try yoga during pink sunsets, meditate under ancient gum trees, go for a horse ride, roll in blue clay at the dam. Or just lay back on the verandah with that book that you always wanted to read but never had time, and submerge into the songs of Australian birds with butterflies gliding by. There is so much to see and experience, just let your inner child come alive to play and enjoy nature’s simple offerings. The bird life on the property was wonderful, being greeted by crimson rosellas every morning while enjoying a cup of tea. The views were breathtaking, when the sunset hits the surrounding cliffs it was spectacular to see. The house was clean and warm, with a rustic charm. My pups didn't want to leave and neither did I, they made good friends with the cocker spaniel residents who were very fun. We will definitely be returning.

This place is a hidden gem. My partner & I had a wonderful time here. We both paint & spent our time painting the incredible surroundings. It’s so serene. There is a steep staircase to the upstairs, so perhaps not great for elderly or very small children, but plenty of open plan areas to be still & just be. Teaming with chirping native birds Ever changing colours in the sky & also the rocky escarpment Which you can enjoy from the comfort of the upstairs bed or walking around the property. The lovely owners have clearly put a lot of work into this beautiful place.

Beautiful property set amongst the lovely Megalong Valley escarpment. We saw plenty of wildlife ranging from ducks, parrots, kangaroos and wallabies. Megalong Tearooms was a great place for breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

This is a beautiful property. The views are just stunning and it’s so peaceful. All you can hear is birdsong. The house is very attractive, clean and well appointed with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is fabulous. The hosts, Anya and Michael, were great. We’ve had a wonderful stay at this property and we would definitely like to return again one day for another holiday.
