This was a perfect spot for us to stay while visiting friends and family in the greater New Orleans area from Kenner to Slidell to the French Quarter, this place is right near it all and an easy drive to any of those places. Public transportation is just a block away and can also take you anywhere in the GNO area you need to be. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a couple of blocks from Magazine, with pretty much any kind of shop, bar or restaurant you could possibly want. The bed is super comfortable and the climate control works great! There’s a lovely private yard and patio, great to hang out with our doggie and sip a drink, and the balcony on either end is also a nice afternoon sitting spot. We wanted for nothing and during our one self induced crisis Gary was immediately responsive and helpful, thank you Gary. This was an excellent rental.

Gary was very responsive and welcoming upon our checkin. He was initially responsive when we noted a non-functioning smoke detector - he replaced immediately. However, as the 4 week stay moved along, problems occurred, from a neighbor who was irate we were there (with our dogs), to a dishwasher that needed replacement (workers in the unit), realization I overpaid, and at the 3rd week, my car window was smashed out (despite nothing inside the car) and police said it happens frequently along this location (despite reassurances that it never happens by Gary.....). We were pretty upset that the car was vandalized and no Gary help at that point. We felt unsafe - my son (age 10) and I moved out that same day 5 days early to a hotel.
On the positive side, shower worked well, full size refrigerator and comfy bed. Safety however is a priority for me (single mom waiting to close on a new home). Conversation with the responding police officer was eye-opening. Left feeling like a fool - overpaid and underdelivered stay.

Perfect Location
This was a perfect location to so many wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the house. Parking is off street, however, we had no difficulty with parking near the property. Gary also made sure the house was warmed prior to our arrival. He will want to meet you sometime during your stay to ensure that everything is ok with the place.

Great Location for Tulane Visit
Older unit in a great location. Property was somewhat compromised secondary to the recent hurricane and repairs in the next unit. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Lovely, spacious property off Magazine
Experience the charm of New Orleans in this restored duplex off Magazine St. High ceilings, porches, two spacious bedrooms with private baths, updated kitchen, separate laundry room, and pet friendly! I loved walking to Whole Foods for snacks, Pj's for daily coffee, and all around Audubon Park with my dog Wesley each morning. Gary was a grand and generous host.

Lived like a local
I stayed with my spouse and two boys at Gary’s property for three days and absolutely loved it. Loved the neighborhood and the apartment in particular. It is very close to all that Magazine street offers and still very silent and secure. Gary was there to greet us when we checked in, such a friendly owner and he goes an extra mile to make you feel home! Comfortable and cleaning bedding, sufficiently stocked kitchen and bathroom, overall I’m very pleased to have stayed at Gary’s..Will visit again!!!!

Zen Retreat
This apartment is most comfortable in the bedroom/ living room dept. Those were my favorite parts + location. Although I am not usually fussy about these things, sheets and pillows could really use updating. Gary was very hospitable and helpful on entry. The apt is a climb up some steep stairs from the street (a very nice quiet neighborhood street, a couple of blox from all that Magazine St. offers) and the building itself needs lots of TLC. Bath and Kitchen were in need of TLC as well, but function fine. No real amenities in bathroom or kitchen like some I have enjoyed in other NOLA rentals...but we did fine as Whole Foods was a short walk from the Zen Retreat.

Property was exactly as listed. We had absolutely no issues?problems while we were there. Gary was very easy to communicate with and extremely quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely rent this property again.

Quick trip to the Big Easy
Great location in Uptown. Nice quiet neighborhood. Rehabbing homes on street but still ample parking. Close to tons of restaurants and shops on Magazine street. Only 20 minutes from Quarters. Less then 10 minutes to great zoo and Tulane and Loyola. Apartment was perfect for our stay. Gary met us to get us started.

GREAT LOCATION! WALK , BIKE TO SHOPPING, EATING, FUN. NICE CHARMING NEIGHBORHOOD
My hubby and I had a great time in the neighborhood. Location is fantastic, we walked to get groceries, biked to eat, took our puppy with us everywhere since the area restaurants have outdoor sitting. The area was perfect for us. The owner was very helpful and assisted us with information, He was very kind. The unit was nice for the price and the fact my puppy was allowed. I would suggest to get better pillows and bedding clothes . They were a bit old. I have a thing with having nice cozy sheets and a very clean bed. Other than that the overall look of the place was clean, organized and very original NOLA apt like. Recommend it highly if you are looking for a great value, you have a puppy and you want to get to places easily.

Great location. Terrific host!
If you want to experience New Orleans like a local, this is the place for you. The neighborhood is safe but quirky. Lots of cool shops and restaurants on Magazine Street. A longer walk takes you to St. Charles Avenue and the streetcar line or to Audubon Park. On street parking is plentiful. Lots of people walking their dogs in the area and a dog park is nearby. But the best part is the host, Gary, who goes out of his way to make sure you have what you need and will recommend local things to do. Watched a Saints game at a nearby bar full of local residents. So much fun!! Will book with Gary again in the future.

Delightful Uptown flat
We loved staying at Gary's flat. It was extremely clean, quiet and well appointed. Gary is a delightful host and very responsive. Best of all, by staying on Constance street you can walk to Magazine Street, Whole Foods, the best darn po-boy place in the city and the sublime espresso bar Cherry. Not to mention, gorgeous architecture on every block! We'll definitely book again on our next family visit to NOLA.

Great getaway in NOLA
We had the good fortune to stay at the ZEN apartment during our stay in NOLA. We were within walking distance of the Audubon Park and Zoo! Magazine Street was one block over with tons of shops! My wife attended the yoga class (also within walking distance!). The location is great!
The apartment was well kept and we felt that we were safe in that neighborhood. We enjoyed the spacious layout and the wifi and cable tv!
Don't think twice about grabbing this one if you get the chance!

Good location 1 block off Magazine and lots of light.
Zen 1 unit is nice place, good location with all the comforts you need. I liked the upstairs porch with 2 Adirondack chairs to read on and look up and down the street with morning coffee or an afternoon brew. Gary is a nice owner and very attentive. Only setback might be that the amenities are a bit tired (kitchen and bathroom), but everything works fine, including A/C.

Centrally located and very walkable to all Magazine and Uptown has to offer!
Light filled, large and fully equipped to handle a long term stay or quick stopover. Gary is VERY responsive to all inquiries and lives locally. You can tell he takes pride in his business and your comfort. I’d definitrly stay again!

Perfect Getaway
The location was perfect, right by magazine street, walking distance to grocery stores and coffee shops. Inside was clean, with all amenities that we needed and more. Gary was also great, and was prompt to reply if we needed something. I hope to stay here again in the future!
