Cute but needs work.

Cute vibe, walkable neighborhood, nice location and close to transit (King's Cross T station)

Alternate day housekeeping is ridiculous. There are hidden stairs everywhere. The bathroom is super small and a trip hazard with the stairs. There were bags of linens or trash in the foyer left abandoned for days (duration of my 4 day stay) and it's an impediment to walking.

Disappointing

Great location. Beautiful entrance and foyer.

Room was a small dark cell like experience ( complete with bars on small opaque window looking out to concrete courtyard). Complete contrast to the entrance and photos. It wasnt even inside the building. No hot water in the shower. Television didnt work- just snow. When I rang the number for assistance as directed because the desk closed at 8pm (and this was 9pm ), no one answered. A very very disappointing experience all round.

The location - it had some fantastic bars and restaurants across the road! I recommend bistro916.

It wasn’t as soundproof as I would have liked. Could hear other guests quite loudly at night.

Ottima struttura ben curata

Struttura molto bella e ben curata. Le ragazze alla reception sono state molto gentili e ci hanno anche indicato il parcheggio coperto più vicino con avevano una convenzione che ci ha permesso di risparmiare.

La camera era un po’ piccola per le nostre esigenze, avendo valigie grandi è stato complicato aprirle e muoversi all’interno della stanza. Problema risolvibile prenotando una camera più grande

Great Location - not the best rooms to stay.

The location is perfect to be right in the City and arounded by nice cafes and restaurants. The Entrance of the Hotel is urban and looks luxury.

The standard rooms are way to small. The bed wasnt clean at all. There is just one small window and the bathroom is so tiny.

Lovely modern hotel in perfect part of Sydney.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location for exploring Sydney. The staff were friendly and the room had everything we needed. The rooms are slightly small but was perfect for what we needed for a few nights.

Modern accomodation, close to the city center but very small rooms. Only good for staying for 2-3 days.

Modern, fancy and beautiful interior. Close to the bus station to get to the city center. Beds were very comfortable.

As said in other reviews, the rooms were small. We had big luggage and we could barely open our hand luggage in the room. Not a lot of storage space if you are staying longer than 3 days. Not accessible for elderly people because of the many small steps to the room or bathroom. Bathroom was also small and the steps were close to the sink. If you take one step back from the sink, you will fall down the stairs. Room service wasn’t good as well, they’re supposed to clean every two days, but the housekeeper didn’t even took out the garbage or changed the towels. My sister even found a pair of pants behind the desk, so it seems that the rooms are not checked properly.

Loved it, can't wait for my next visit!

The location is excellent, and the hotel building and inside decor are both absolutely beautiful. The street where the hotel is located is lovely as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable. It was on the small side, but it was exactly what I needed for a short stay. I especially enjoyed having my cup of tea on the hotel street balcony, before embarking on my day.

The room did not have some small amenities that would usually be available - such as a spare toothbrush, or a shower cap. But these are such minor things, and other than that, it was great.

Disappointing

The high ceilings

The room was a terrible location. It was the disability room. People came in and out all night. You schools have a sliding door that didn’t bang. We could hear people returning and walking in the tiles all night. Blood stains on the sooner cover. Revolting.

Would have expected more for the price. If itemized habe been lilemonnzbe pictures I‘d have been absolutely happy.

It’s central, the house is very nice. It’s clean.

The pictures promise way more than what you get. Room was way smaller than expected. TV system not great. Bathroom okay, but I‘d have expected a bit more

Un confort inégalable qui fait du bien pour un séjour top.

Le lit était très confortable et conforme à nos attentes. La chambre était très bien, grande, on a de l'espace. La bouilloire est très utile et le frigo également, c'est super de mettre ça à disposition. Il y a également un fer à repasser et une table à repasser mis à disposition.

La salle de bain est petite et la ventilation ne marche pas très bien, les serviettes restent trempées toute la journée. Un micro-onde a disposition dans l'hôtel ne serait pas de refus.

Restfull and relaxing

Gr8 location,Potts Point is a lovely location with great local wining and dining and so convenient for the city. The hotel is located in a lovely colobial building that has been tastefully renovated and and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive.

The bedroom needed a baggage rack and/or more cupboard space and UBS fitted power sockets, for charging phones etc.

Was ok but wouldn't stay there again

Outside of hotel was great, lots of cafes around

Looked brilliant on the outside. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom let everything down. Mould, shower too small, towels too small, step into bathroom made you break a toe, sink was useless as was the positioning of the tap on the sink and it couldn't be moved. Staff weren't available after 8pm or before 8am. Too far out from the city

The stay in that Hotel was just frustrating !

The location of the room was in the backyard, ground floor, beside the laundry, situation worse than in a Motel. Room size was 4 by 4 meters, even to small for one person, but it was described as a double room. Room was clean.

I have booked the room on 29th of June 2023 for end of December (29th of December 2023, for 5 nights). The withdraw of money was already on 12th of December 2023 ! Even the room was already paid, I had to confirm the booking by submitted code via internet again ! Apparently I should be convinced to cancel the booking ! On 29th of December at the reception of the Hotel the young lady could not find my reservation - then she asked me if I had booked just for one night ? The older (asian) lady beside her finally gave me, according her decision, the room in the backyard - after the young lady even has told me that they have an elevator. After seeing the room I told the ladies, that I am comming from Europe and I had better rooms in my life and I would like to change to an acceptable room, the older ladies explained, that at that time the better rooms are reserved for people who pay 2 to 3 times more for the rooms, now at the end of the year. That is my experience at the Hotel Challis Potts Point, where the facade and the corridor inside are beautiful, but just that is fine, nothing else !

Not what we expected and didn’t feel like great value.

Room was extremely small, photos showed 2 chairs but these didn’t exist in the room and there definitely wasn’t the space for them to be in the room (booked small double). Door couldn’t even open all the way due to the size of the room it was blocked by the bed. Due to staying for a week we had 2 large suitcase s that took up any remaining space. Shower leaks a lot of water and due to housekeeping only being every 2nd day we had an absolutely drenched bath mat with no way to dry it.

Disappointed

The location was great. The hotel had also invested in its facade and public areas and looked good.

We didn’t get the room we booked because it didn’t exist. The description on Booking.com was for a Queen Room with city view and a balcony with outside sitting area. We got two Queen rooms but with no balcony. The rooms were small and our room didn’t even have a wardrobe - we got a hatstand! When we got our room it was half serviced. There were no glasses, one cup, two tea bags and no coffee. The tv remote was also missing. The roller blind was too short for the window and didn’t block out the light. It also needed to be repaired to work properly but this wasn’t done during our stay. The bathrooms were probably the smallest of any hotel I have stayed in and sitting on the toilet was challenging for someone who is 1.87m tall. The tv does not have satellite tv of any additional channels as advertised, at least in our room.

A nice stay in a boutique hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Challis. The location is a lovely area and the building itself is very beautiful. The WIFI was very fast, which was great as we're remote workers. The bed was comfortable, and the room was nice––albeit a little smaller than we expected. It was also super quiet, so we slept really well.

The only downside was that our room didn't properly get cleaned during the stay. They mentioned alternate-day cleaning, but I had to ask to have it cleaned on the second day. When it was done, it was really just a towel switch, no clean sheets, or even bedmaking.
