It is a beautiful, old hotel in the heart of the historic center. The room was extremely well appointed, and the breakfast was perfection! The beds were very comfortable.
The location is a two-edged sword. It is wonderful to stay there, but getting there is a bit nerve wracking. You have to drive through some limited traffic areas, and while they give ample directions, for someone unfamiliar with the area, it is a bit daunting. It also seemed the directions upon leaving were a little more confusing.

The location - The main building is atmospheric - Very clean hotel -
Breakfast - yes, a TON of food, but nothing of good quality - Less is MORE - would rather have a few fresh baked goods and a nice cup of coffee then plates and plates of cookies and cheeses/meats that have been sitting out repeatedly. Hard boiled eggs rubbery - just not good. Nothing we attempted to eat was appetizing.
Cost - Very very much overpriced.
Staff - Efficient, but not overly welcoming.

Brilliant location if you want a central yet quiet spot, right next to St Petronio basilica. Perfect if you want to live in a historical building - it’s from the 12th century (older than the basilica). Tastefully decorated rooms, there’s art throughout the hotel, some medieval, some more recent. Friendly, efficient staff, good breakfast.
Although the hotel has an indoor garage, it can be tricky to get to as it’s right in the center of town. Wasn’t a problem for us as we weren’t driving. Leave the car at home and take public transport / taxis. They are plentiful.

Bathroom in the room smelled like a public toilet, curtains were sheer so the neighbours could see in and was light when sleeping
