First you see a huge palazzo portal and you say - no way this is a hostel! Via Gropallo 4/11. Then along double red runners and marbles you reach the wonder - an elevator from bygone eras. A working jewel - a cage of diamonds, red carpet, old brass handle. That someone once designed a building to make you fall in love, even before you reached the room. Renovated around 2017, but the soul is still there - the terrace like a nest. I'm already in love till the end!

Wonderful experience, great place, great staff and people who were staying there. The hostel has everything you need and much more. Delicious coffee, always available for the guests! The rooms are spacious, the common room has a tv, games, books; the kitchen is (thankfully) open around the clock, so if you need to leave early in the morning, you can have a cup of coffee (unlike some other hostels I've been to :D). The location was perfect - 5 min from the Genova Brignole train station, which means it's easy to get to & from the airport and easy to explore the whole coast by train. The hostel is located in a beautiful historic building, with an amazing lift, which is really charming. In the vicinity, there's everything you need - a pharmacy, supermarkets, cafes, bars. The staff are super helpful and so is the owner, who recommended me lots of beautiful places. I would choose the hostel again :)
All was good :)

Affordable and late check in is available.
It was meh. It is okay for 1-2 night maximum. The place is close to Brignole train station so that is a plus. I wasn't expecting to do my own bed, it caught me off guard. The breakfast is also a "self service" breakfast. No coffee machine, you have to brew yourself one on the kitchen stove. The balcony? Yeah it doesnt look like that in real life.
