Fantastic place and team
One of the most incredible lodge we have ever visited
Our ranger Dawid is a true gem of a person
WiFi was down which meant credit card use for payment of extras was not possible and we were short of Rands.
Fortunately the lodge offered to take euros instead.

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The setting is incredible with its own private area within the national park. The hotel was luxurious and rooms were all spacious and beautifully decorated with a big decked outside area with plunge pool. The food was delicious especially the special BBQ night. All the staff were so friendly, professional and helpful. The safari experience was fantastic and our ranger Lazarus was amazing. Couldn't rate this place higher.
Nothing at all.

The Safaris were great, in the large concession area they go off the roads through the bush. There are several river beds. Not the focus, but the landscape is also really beautiful!
The weather :-)

The game drives are 100% the best bit of the stay. You get basically 2 x 4hr drives which are just amazing. Our tour guide Ike was very knowledgeable and we managed to see the big 5! They have their own concession where only Jock are allowed to drive. The gin and tonic sundowners on the evening game drive always went down a treat. The lodges are really nice for when you have some down time. The sit down meals were brilliant and you never went hungry. The staff were also amazing and very attentive and always having a laugh with you.
Nothing to dislike - you will not be disappointed :)

The staff and our ranger, Jan, were incredible. We were so spoiled for the entire duration of our stay and felt like part of the family. Each day, we saw new and exciting things on safari and learned so much.
There was nothing we disliked :)

our guide, Micah, was excellent. very experienced and seemed to know where to go to get our own private experience of Kruger. saw all of the big 5 and more.
can’t really fault anything. would return in a heart beat.

Beautiful secluded location. The suite itself was gorgeous. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive. Patrick our ranger for the game drives was brilliant- really knowledgeable, kept everyone laughing, and helped us find “the big 5”, plus many many more. It’s hard to pick a highlight, but for me it would have to be seeing a leopard up close both during the day and at night. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to revisit Kruger.
Nothing. It was fantastic.

Wow! Jock Safari Lodge is simply an incredible place to visit in an incredible part of the world.
Although we managed to see all manner of animals on our safari drives (including the rare and elusive Cheetahs!), it was the staff that made the trip the most memorable we’ve ever had. Every one of the staff at the lodge were incredibly friendly and personable and went above and beyond in delivering great service. Special shout out to Thabo, Mamsie, Precious and of course our wonderful game driver Jacob. We really
couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
The food and drink offering was extremely generous (huge breakfast, 3 course lunch, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner), as were the drinks. We experienced dinner on the dried riverbed too, which was great.
Guest interaction was great too, without being too much.
Jock have got it down to a fine art. The best place we’ve ever stayed.
Thank you Jock Safari Lodge!

Stunning location on a dry river bed. Loved the rustic bush feeling and experience. We stayed at The Fitzpatrick House. Everything was included and we had our own game viewing vehicle with game ranger. We travelled with our three small children. Incredibly child friendly! Kids were taken out during day with our game ranger on a educational ranger exploration day. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful catering to our every need. They were also provided activity packs and gifts on arrival. All kids meals were catered for by own personal chef.
Although the rooms were beautifully designed and decorated the outside area of lodge needed a bit of a re-vamp.

The rooms were very private, you didn’t know anyone else was staying there. Plunge pool, day bed overlooking the dry river bed which they made up for us to sleep out one night which was a great experience.

run down property. neglected. paint chipping off everywhere. grounds not maintained. charging top dollar for nothing special. food at best average. staff not very helpful (had to unload our luggage ourselves) but expecting tips nevertheless.

Everything was fantastic.
Staff
Location great.
Food
Drive experiences and land and views amazing.
Room overlooking river bed and our total personal space was wow.
And jocks work on anti poaching is something to be very proud of. One massive 5*
Only negative comment was.
Some and I mean some furniture and furnishings and a bit of the structure in the main restaurant and bar areas just looked a little tired. It does absolutely grow on you though as it meant to be and is a total rustic relaxing weathered feel. When laying on the sunloungers by the pool looking out over the river bed and seeing herds of elephants and so so much more it’s a dream. I am aware in February I believe there is going to be 2 weeks of some maintenance which will be great to see what this brings. But when rates are high I just wanted just that little more. When I arrived it didn’t make me go wow and I had so wanted it too.
I would so so so go again so this little bit of negativity should not put any one off.

Outstanding service. Property is very nice with great layout. it’s fantastic as the drives are on their own concession and away from the kruger traffic. Do ask for Jani to be your ranger as he really is the best.
food was of average quality but was still fine.

We were really unlucky with the weather. As we told our game drive ranger Jan that we were primarily on the lookout for the cats, he said he would give it his best but also informed us that the rainy, cold weather puts us in a bad position to do so. However, not only were we able to see three lions laying right next to our car, but even more amazingly, he was able to show us three leopards the next day. The photos were amazing because he always made sure that we were in the best position to take them.
Back in the dining room, the staff was really nice to us and the selection of food was also just amazing. As we are definitely planning on coming back, we asked the manager to have a look at the separate Fitzpatricks Villa. Because there was no one in it at the time, our Guide gave us a private tour of the property right before we left this beautiful lodge.

By far the best place to do game drives. Saw all big 5 within first 2 game drives. Our guide Micah was exceptional. Really romantic place to stay, great food, great facilities. Can't recommend Jock's enough!
