About this house rental
Located in Beverly Hills, this charming house for $273 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Guests have the entire space and private outdoor patio to themselves (there are no common areas shared with the owner who lives on the property). In addition to the queen bed upstairs (sleeps 2), there are a number of sleeping options in the downstairs living room area (sleeps 1 adult + 1 child) including a very comfortable sofa (not a pull-out), sleeping pads and futon mattress (both for the floor). Nice location; unit is older but clean and comfortable;
Owner lives in front house and respectful to our privacy.
Very responsive to our requests.
Unit can use some repairs.
Upstairs is nice and more modern and spacious;
Downstairs is smaller and can use some upgrades, but is clean.
There’s coffee maker and microwave but no sink nor cooking facilities; we didn’t need that so was acceptable.

Place is great! Clean and Stephen was there to meet me when I got in! Host was very attentive! Thanks for a great stay Stephen! I will be back!

My Wife and I enjoyed a fantastic week in this gem of a property recently.
Stephen couldn’t have done more to make our stay perfect, from information on local points of interest, to specific details of the areas links to the musical industry that my Wife loved.
As others have said the lodge is quirky, but full of character. So close to the city but in the middle of the countryside.
No sink downstairs was less of a problem than anticipated, the lack of drapes or blinds a little more so but by no means off putting.
A lovely spot that we will hopefully return to in the future.
Thank you Stephen for a lovely stay.

I can’t overstate what a welcoming, rejuvenating place this is. Just a couple turns out of the insanity of urban life, this quiet guesthouse in Laurel Canyon was exactly what we needed! The host was incredibly responsive and gracious, and the property had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend escape. Can’t wait to go back!

I can not say enough positive things about this property, it's host, the location, and the entire Laurel Canyon section of LA!
The property was very much as described. Privacy, peace, clean, and welcoming. Check in and check out was very simple and flawless. Stephen was very good about making sure we could find the property and we were satisfied. He responded thoughtfully and promptly to each Vrbo message or questions we had. He stays on the property as well, but is completely separate and ensures privacy for the family. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was large and efficient. There was one bedroom with very comfortable bedding and several options for downstairs sleeping. Our teen was quite content sleeping on the couch, but there was also a rollout mattress available and plenty of clean bedding available. The living room has wifi a Roku streaming TV and is accessible with the wifi access. Our rental is half of the house, but is plenty of room for a small family to have a home base for their LA stay. THe patio was cozy and Stephen will set up the propane fire pit for a quiet evening in the Canyon.
The Laurel Canyon location is a wonderland that is filled with the musical heritage of the LA 60's and 70's music scene. It is secluded and quaint and you forget that you are in a major US city, but you are 10 minutes from Sunset Strip, 20 minutes from Universal Studios, 45 minutes from the coast and it is easy to avoid the freeways to get there! 5+ STARS!

Had a fantastic stay! Our teenage son slept on the couch and said it was comfortable. Host is quick to respond and ensured everything was perfect for us. Bed was very comfortable, as well. Incredible location close to it all too! Would highly recommend staying here!

We truly loved our stay at Stephen’s property. I chose this place because of the great location. It's convenient to get everywhere while also being in what felt like a private oasis. Stephen was super helpful and instantly responsive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

A good place to stay if you wanna soak in Laurel Canyon's magical vibe: charming winding roads and just a stone's throw from the famous Canyon Country Store, immortalized by The Doors in "Love Street." Stephen is an attentive friendly host, who quickly responded to any issues and requests, and proactively offered us lists of local breakfast places and sightseeing locations. Note that there's no stove or sink in the kitchenette; dishes need to be brought upstairs to the bathroom to be washed, but Stephen provided a tray that made it easy.

This is a difficult review to write. As for the Host, Steve ? 6 stars as he was absolutely amazing and helpful throughout our stay. As for the property, 5 stars for location ONLY. The listing is somewhat misleading. Does the space have AC? Yes (sort of ) as it’s controlled within the hosts’ space so luckily the weather was just beautiful and we didn’t need it all. The upper area gets hot during the day but cools down at night. The lower space is always cool to cold (but there is a space heater to use.) The outside courtyard area is NOT like the pictures posted with the listing . It is cluttered , dirty and uninviting. There are old building materials and furniture all over . But seriously you will never use it as you are doing so many things in LA. The best thing about this property is location as you are within 30 minutes of just about everything. That a a place to park (a really big deal with VRBO rentals in LA). Many have street parking only and you could walk
A mile to your rental. This parking was a plus but DO NOT Rent a full size car (as we did-big mistake ) as the streets up to the property are extremely tight. With all the above we rate it a 4 star overall. Next time in LA we will just do the Hampton Inn.

This was my second time staying here, and once again Stephen was such a wonderful host! Such a cozy, peaceful spot nestled in the Canyon. I'd definitely love stay here a third time next time I'm in LA!

This spot was exactly as advertised and just perfect as a base to explore the canyon and Hollywood. The host was very helpful and considerate. We look forward to returning.

We had been to LA several times and were looking for something a little different and this property was exactly as we had hoped. Located in the Laurel Canyon hills it took you back to the 60s. The local general store a place where musicians gathered to jam and write music. The houses hugging the curved road. So much flavour and history.
The property is best suited for two people. My adult daughter joined us and we were able to make up a comfy bed on the floor so it was okay. The other little quirk is that the only running water is in the loft bathroom so you need to take dishes there to be cleaned but it wasn't a big deal. It was great having a parking space and the owner was really responsive.
It was a funky place and we really enjoyed it.

Loved this fun comfortable place in the iconic Laurel Canyon. Stephen was a great host making sure everything was perfect for our arrival with great detailed directions, great restaurant tips, coffee and granola bars for breakfast, and also forwarded information on the history of famous Laurel Canyon musicians, which we were very interested in. Thanks again Stephen for a great visit!

We enjoyed being in this cozy, comfortable, cabin-esque space in a beautiful location. The interior was tastefully designed and exactly matched the description and photos. We could only stay one night as our first night was cancelled due to a power outage from a heavy storm. Our host, Stephen, could not have been more kind and helpful about making sure we were taken care of and in working with VRBO to credit us back for the missed night. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you, Stephen!

Exactly as described. Cute place with more than enough room for two. Right off Laurel Canyon Rd, five minutes to Sunset Strip in one direction and five minutes to Mulholland Drive in the other. Off street parking, which is pretty rare in that area. Would definitely stay again.

Staying in the Hollywood hills area was something I had to experience while visiting LA, and this location didn’t disappoint! Streets are narrow and twisty, but the location was very cool.
The host was kind, responsive and went above and beyond with the extra touches (bottled water in fridge, snacks available, etc). We really liked the separate sleeping and living spaces.

This lovely split-level apartment is in a beautiful location & pretty easy to get to; you're surrounded with lush vegetation outside, and delightful, sometimes whimsical, decor thru-out the property. There was lots of light coming inside from the wall window, which looks out over your own personal courtyard. The bed was very comfortable and the linens smelled delightful.
Most importantly, the host was very kind, and wanted to insure that we enjoyed our visit. They were very easy to speak to, and responded promptly whenever I reached out.
In our party we had three adults, & one child (7yo) - all family. We all slept comfortably, and the apartment was a good fit for us, yet do please note that it is a one bedroom/one bathroom location.
I would happily stay here again.

My husband and our 5 year old stayed for a week. The neighborhood is charming and so is the property. We took turns to sleep in the bed upstairs and the couch and floor mattress downstairs because they are all so comfortable. We literally flipped coins to see who sleeps where because we can't decide. It's great to have a parking spot at the property. The kitchenette has everything we needed to make tea, coffee, and store out leftover food. Stephen is such a wonderful host. Highly recommended!

Stephen's place is a dream for two adults, four nights in November. Warm and cozy house sits nestled in the Laurel Canyon hills with one parking spot good for a compact/mid sized car (we rented a Prius.) 45 min drive to LAX. 30 min to Santa Monica. 25 min to Rodeo Drive. 10 min to West Hollywood. Comfortable bed/bedding and spacious bathroom located on the second floor, and living area with TV and dining table on the first. Tastefully decorated with antique furnitures and old Hollywood movie posters all around (a nice surprise for an Audrey Hepburn fan over here!) Stephen is a wonderful host, super responsive and nicely checked in with us multiple times during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. No complaints here!

We greatly enjoyed our stay in Laurel Canyon. The property was exactly as described and Stephen was a helpful and responsive host. The home is centrally located to all the tourist hot spots but offers a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend and hope to come back and stay again

We spent a very enjoyable week here. The property is very close to West Hollywood restaurants and other amenities, but nicely situated in the hills, above the fray of the city noise and busy-ness. Stephen is an excellent host -- very responsive and accommodating. We greatly appreciate his efforts to make us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay.

I came to LA for my family’s baby shower and to relax for a few days. Stephen made everything so easy from the check in process to the check out process, he constantly checked on me and made sure everything was great and I didn’t need anything. The house is nice and peaceful the bed is sooo comfortable and the shower is amazing. Overall the stay is 10/10 recommended and the Ubers find you with no problem! Thanks Stephen
