Good base location for our winter get away. Walking distance to many great Key West locations, and the bike rental place on the same block was cheap and convenient. The steep spiral staircase to the third floor room would be a limitation for mobility challenged, and best to pack light! Once there the room is spacious and the balcony overlooking the pool is a relaxing hangout.

The room is very unique. Overall, the room was fantastic and the location is excellent. Being that it is in a converted attic, there are a lot of angled walls so if you are tall, this may be a challenge. The shower also has a large angled wall with minimal space. The spiral staircase is very small and can make it challenging hauling up luggage and supplies.

Great old building with all the expected Key West charm. Arrived early and hoped to check in before 3:00 but manager was very unresponsive and finally let us in right at 3 even though we could tell the room was ready for hours before. Expected a small continental breakfast based on google listing and previous reviews but there was only Keurig coffee available. Had an amazing job, just expected a bit more on the service side.

My husband and I are so happy with our choice of the Aria room at Azul. We loved how different this was from your average hotel experience and it really gave it that Key West charm. The shared spaces were well decorated, we had everything we needed in the shared kitchen for coffee and tea refills, and we especially found the outdoor water cooler and ice machine useful to fill our water bottles. The main house was also stocked with fresh fruit and had a fruit infused water pitched that was refreshed daily. We swam in the heated pool everyday, even on our chillier January days. The outdoor seating areas give guests comfortable spaces to spread out and enjoy the exterior. With only 11 rooms in the hotel, it never felt like we were over crowded in the outdoor spaces with other guests. The location of Azul averaged a 15 minute walk to most places, about 20-25 to walk towards Mallory square, and a less than 10 minute bike ride to Ft. Zach to go the the beach. We love to walk in Key West so this worked for us, personally. Our room, Aria, was the icing on the cake to our perfect vacation! It was such a charming and unique space that I don’t think we could have found anywhere else. The spacious room helped us to be able to spread out and not feel cramped at all for our weeks stay. For us, the two flight of stairs was totally worth it to have the top floor. The spiral staircase was a doozy but it really made it fun for us. I would reconsider staying in this room if either of us had mobility issues or if we were tall. My husband is in good shape and he was able to carry our suitcases up and down. He is 5’9”, so the low ceilings and low shower were not an issue, but anyone taller might have issues. I am short and had no issues, but don’t know if I could have carried my own suit case, haha!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time in the treetop king suite. The space was unique and very comfortable. The winding stairs were a great unique touch to the unit leading up there. Beware that that is the only way to get up to the unit. The main house is wonderful with a couple of sitting spaces in dining room areas to do a few minutes of work and the outdoor area had plenty of relaxing space. I would definitely stay again.!!

We rented the room called Aria. It’s sort of like the attic room. It requires going up two sets of stairs - one is an outdoor spiral staircase. We are both 66 yo and thankfully had no problem with the stairs. Though my husband didn’t love carrying our heavy suitcase up and down.🤪 The room itself was worth it I think - very spacious and easy to cool. Even the sloped ceilings weren’t a big issue and we’re both ~5’9”. The bed was super comfy. Loved that we had a sofa and a chair - chairs right outside our door too. There’s a small fridge as well. The pool was delightful. Not used by many so it was nice to float around and cool down from a hot (by Ohio standards) day. They even had pool noodles and a lot of deck chairs. We didn’t use the shared space though if you had a group there it would be a great option for get togethers. Loved that they had pool towels and an ice maker and a clean water tank to keep our water bottles full. The landscaping was lovely too. It’s a bit far from Mallory square but we loved the walk and it’s not far from the Duval loop bus. Last but not least the communication from the staff was excellent. Very helpful. All my questions happily answered. Would definitely recommend.

This was our first trip to key west and my wife found the dwell. They were great keeping in contact prior to our arrival with arrival procedures. The only Issue that comes up is parking in front of the property, it can be tight. We rented the room all the way up on the third floor. If you have heavy bags or mobility issues don’t rent this room since you have to go up a spiral staircase to get to the room. The room is nice but being 6’1 the shower is very difficult due to the roof lines. Words can’t do it justice so do your homework if you want this room. Other than that the property was very nice, clean and welcoming. If you’re a walker this place is in a good location only being about 3 blocks from duval street and all the hub bub.

This is my second time staying at Azul Mansion and the second time in Aria. Love the privacy and character of the room but definitely pay attention to the warning about the spiral stairs! The location is great and we walked everywhere including Mallory Square for the sunset and to the marina for a dolphin watch. The rooms were spotless and felt luxurious. Friends had another room by the pool and it was also very nice. Arrival and check in was easy and communication with the hosts was super and everyone was very kind and helpful. Coming back soon hopefully!

A great place to stay in Key West. Close enough to walk to Duval Street and far enough away for quietness and relaxation. The Azul was extra clean and in great shape, there are upgrades happening to keep the place in awesome condition. Beautiful common areas and quaint comfy rooms. The Aria was a great treetop hideaway, creating privacy and romance for couples. The outdoor winding staircase is on the smaller side which gives a challenge with luggage, but knowing that beforehand allows you to mentally prepare for the assent and decent getting to the room. The pool is greatly located giving perfect sun and shade, and the check-in process was very easy and informative. I highly recommend the "AZUL" for an adult getaway to Key West.

The property was clean and cute. Room was cool, which we were nervous about since it’s basically located in the attic. We were surprised to see the patio under construction. Although construction didn’t start until 9 am, it was still loud as we were hoping to get some extra rest. When we booked, we missed the very skinny spiral staircase to get room. Careful as those stairs are narrow and challenging to maneuver. The biggest hurdle was showering. We knew the shower was going to be a bit of challenge due to the pictures, however the water pressure was non existent the water temperature was either way too hot or cold. There was a sign that stated they were working on it and to try different times to shower or take a bath. We showered at all hours trying to find the sweet spot with no luck. If you’re looking for a dark room in the morning, this isn’t it. There’s pretty sky lights, however they let in a ton of light. Overall it was a nice stay and the place was clean, but did have more kinks than we would have liked.

We loved the loft room at Azul. The room was large, beautiful and clean. We particularly liked the porch area, it was private and the breeze, the view and the planes were great. We spent a lot of time on the porch. The pool was also lovely, warm and usually completely empty and private. Be aware, the spiral staircase to get up to Aria is narrow and difficult with a large suitcase (but worth it!) Also the bathroom ceiling is very low, my husband (6'1") had to sit to shower. See their photos. We like the room enough that this did not bother us.

The spiral staircase was steep and the bathroom was small with an odd shower. We read the room description and knew this ahead of time. We liked having the extra space in this room and enjoyed the private deck right outside. We were in Key West in March, the window AC unit kept the entire space a great temperature. We had a great stay, used the kitchen for breakfast some mornings, nice area to eat outside. Pool was the perfect temperature! Entire building was very clean. Walked to Duval Street, and many places on the Island. Would recommend this room to anyone who can safely go up and down the spiral staircase and embraces the quirky bathroom/ shower. Only complaint is that there is a small window in the bathroom, the blinds are missing some slats. I expect more privacy, especially at this price point and installing new blinds is an easy fix. Still gave 5 stars and would stay again. Great vacation!!

Fantastic stay the property is amazing the staff are awesome avsolutrlt amazing service. The breakfast was great! We love the pool and hot tub and the hammocks were a nice touch. Awesome stay they had fishing rods and kayaks available. It was perfect being next door to snappers we will definitely be back.

Very nice large room with a sitting room, desk, comfortable king bed, mini frig, nice private deck, clean, cozy, warm pool, charming house with lots of common space to use. It’s about 3 blocks to Duval St.
We knew ahead of time that the spiral stairs to get to the third floor would require us to take smaller suitcases. We also knew the bathroom is tight and the shower would be hard to use if someone was over 6 feet.
We would stay here again. We loved the Moon Dog restaurant nearby.

This special “treetop suite” was amazing. I was worried about the spiral steps at first but they honestly added to the experience. The room is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We had no challenges with the angles in the bathroom and thought it was fun and quirky!
Having the Keurig in the room as well as a refrigerator was perfect. I would go to the kitchen of the main house each morning and replenish what we needed for the next day.
The balcony was enjoyed each morning with a cup of coffee and the Key West breeze.
Communication from the property manager was absolutely perfect. They were kind and accommodating and I knew they were a text away.

We stayed in the ARIA which is the treetop room. The only A/C is a window unit which would be fine except it is the the alcove so it only really cools that area. It took 3 days of it going consistently at like 65 for the entire room to feel decent. There is a 5 light figure over the bedroom part that could easily be a ceiling fan instead which would greatly help. Also there really isn't any warning about how the bathroom/shower is. I'm 5'6 and had a difficult time using it, so you can imagine how hard it was for my 6 foot husband. While the spiral staircase is a wonderful feature it is a much tighter spiral then it looks and getting luggage up/down is not easy. Lastly the location is a little further away from things then it seems. While Duval Street is only 0.5 mile away you still have to walk another 1-2 miles down it to really get to things.

This is the second time we stay at Azul and would definitely visit again! Perfect location, close to Duval and beach. Property clean and well stocked. Quiet location with privacy. Aria room was great, but the spiral staircase was challenging at times.

This unit has a significant issue with the height of its ceilings. It is on the 3rd floor and the room has "A Shape" ceiling slopes throughout the rooms. This was most problematic in the bathroom, where you could not stand up straight to use the sink or shower properly. The ceiling heights in the bathroom were so low that you had to squat to use the sink and shower, unless you are no more than 4.5 feet tall. In addition, the bathroom had no mirror over the sink. Instead there was a mirror on the door but it was hung to low to see your face in it without having to squat down again. The door had no door handle on the inside and didn't fully close. It also got stuck on the floor when trying to open it fully. The ceiling height on one side of the bed was also a problem as you had to be very cautious and not fully stand up to avoid hitting your head on the ceiling when getting up on that side of the bed. In the living area, the ceiling fan hung very low so that you could not raise your hands above your head and had to be cautious around that area.
Another issue to be aware of is the spiral staircase from the 2nd to 3rd floor, which is the only way to access the unit. The spiral staircase is disclosed and in the website pictures, so we knew we would have to access the unit that way. It was a little challenging to go up and down as the steps are narrow. Also be prepared that carrying luggage up and down the spiral staircase is not easy and was a bit of a chore.
It is a shame the room had these ceiling height and spiral staircase issues, as otherwise the room and the property had a lot of nice features and would have been a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and large with ample closet space. It was private being on the 3rd floor with no rooms above or next to you. The property was in a great location with on site parking and in walking distance to the popular downtown areas. We didn't have to use our car at all during our 2 night stay. The property amenities were great with a nice pool, full kitchen, nice indoor and outdoor seating areas. Booking process was easy and informative. Check in process was easy.
I recognize that prices are inflated for Fantasy Fest weekend but after balancing the positives and negatives, it was not worth $1,700 for a 2 night stay. However, I would recommend staying at the property in one of the other rooms which don't have the ceiling height and spiral staircase issues.
