Serious safety, security, cleanliness and maintenance concerns

The location was close to city centre

Our stay at this property was very disappointing. On arrival, we identified several issues relating to safety, security, cleanliness and maintenance. Most concerning was the rear door, which could not be securely locked and was easily accessible from a public road. This raised concerns about the security of the property, our personal safety and the safety of our belongings. The bathroom door handle had also come off, meaning the door could not be properly secured and creating a potential risk of someone becoming trapped inside. We also had concerns about the condition and operation of the smoke alarm, which raised questions about the property’s fire-safety arrangements. In addition, there was no hot water, the cleanliness was below an acceptable standard, and the bedding had a damp, unpleasant smell. Water was also coming through the ceiling of one of the bedrooms, indicating a significant maintenance issue. We reported these concerns to the host and subsequently contacted Booking.com. However, the issues were not resolved to our satisfaction. Given the number and seriousness of the problems, we decided to leave after the first night of our three-night booking and had to arrange and pay for alternative accommodation. We have photographs documenting the condition of the property and records of our communications regarding the issues. Overall, we did not consider the accommodation to be maintained or presented to an acceptable standard for paying guests, particularly in relation to basic safety, security and cleanliness. We would not recommend staying here unless these issues have been fully addressed.

Not good unsafe

Good size lots of space. Close to city.

Very damp with plaster falling off ceiling onto clothing in suitcase which could be toxic. Unsafe for children with breathing conditions due to very bad damp in all rooms. Beds fames dirty with blood on. Dust everywhere. Shower not working. Garden unusable, overgrown, dirty, unsafe with rubbish. Holes in some walls. Broken curtain rail. No bulb in lamp. Unclean kitchen with used items in cupboards. Random basket with old shoes in. Overall very unclean and needs a damp survey. Good overall clean. And needs new mattresses. Felt dirty when we all left. I would not reccoment at all dangerous due to the damp possible dangerous paint falling off wall onto clothes. And very dirty.

Bathrooms were nice. House was very spacious. Nice little lounge area. Had t-bags and sugar in kitchen which was nice. Some of the bedrooms were nice. Nice little shop and cafe nearby.

It was grotty. Stains everywhere. Door handles were broken, ceilings were coming away. Some of the beds were uncomfortable
