We both absolutely loved this little hotel. You have a garage right next to your room. Even though the place was built in the 1930s, it’s been kept up really well and remodeled as needed. We were surprised to see a walk-in closet and an extra room where the desk and the refrigerator were located. If we ever go back to Santa Fe, we will certainly stay there again.

Will stay there again. Much better than several chain motels in this and higher price bracket. Carport was very much appreciated. Towels were white and fluffy.

It was like visiting my grandparents house. A little old, but well maintained. The location was not an issue and we felt safe there. The power points on the nightstand lights were not working, but there were enough wall outlets. We plan to stay here again.

Very nice old-school kind of place; definitely not a chain motel stay. Street was kind of noisy during the day but quieted down during the night. Under cover parking was a bonus!

Love this place for the price, super convenient location , always clean and owners are very nice. Mostly I love the little car ports so my car is accessible right from my door

Pleasant stay at the hotel. Enjoyed the building and room motif.

We liked that the room was separate from the other rooms, it wasn't connected to any other rooms it has a carport connected to the room for easy and convenient access to your vehicle. It has a refrigerator and microwave in the room as well. Only things I didn't like was not enough room for your clothing, not enough hangers and no drawers at all. Also didn't like the staff coming to the room 30 minutes before checkout knocking and banging, turning the knob and hurrying us out especially since we still had plenty of time.

Kind of a gross place

King's Rest has been my go-to resting place in Santa Fe, for the past three years. It is easy to reach, from the south and fairly easy to reach, from the north. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. Some eateries are within walking distance (for me, that is a mile or less) and others are easily reachable, via Cerrillos and Sandoval. (The parking garage on Sandoval is almost a straight shot from Cerrillos.)

We loved our stay here! Only 10 minutes driving from downtown, and the motel itself was safe (including parking in a carport right next to your room), clean, spacious, and cute. We had a good night rest here. Plus, we loved the neon sign!

I stay at this place regularly. I feel safe here but others are bothered by the presence of street people in the surrounding areas.

This was a nice hotel for a one night low expense place to stay. They were very friendly and rooms were old but taken care of.

Quaint, lovely, and clean. Not too far from the plaza. We had breakfast at the Pantry restaurant just a few blocks away. Excellent stay, all way around.

The place was clean, which I appreciated, but the microwave did not work and the stopper thing in the tub would not stop the water from draining so it was constantly draining and wasting a lot of water. I don’t understand why the property owners expect people to stay at places that, the equipment they’re providing is not in working order. No I will not go back.

A unique Santa Fe ambiance with adobe structure and decor. I would come again

Very nice hotel. It was clean and quiet. I saw some people complained about traffic noise in other reviews. You can see the hotel is right on the street, and the owners of the hotel don't control the traffic, or drivers revving their engines. We were fortunate that we were in the unit farthest from the street, and it was very quiet. We had trouble with the heater not turning on, so I reported it to the owner. After looking at it, she said she'd get her maintenance man. Within less than a minute, there he was! The pilot had gone out. After he relit it, it was fine. One of the neatest features (to me) was that there are small carports. One for every two units, each accommodating two cars. I've never seen that before.

Had trouble understanding the lady in the office, behind the plexiglass panel. Room only had towels and water bottles for 2 although we had a reservation for 4. Leftover food and 1/2 gallon milk jug was left behind in the mini fridge. Two beds but one was in a separate room. No place to sit their suitcase and bags. Very tight.

I liked the carports (however my unit didn't get one) looked like 2 units don't have the carport. The court yard felt more secure but it amplified conversation within the courtyard. The unit while extremely dated was clean. Small but efficient. Walked down to the Pantry restaurant. Questionable neighborhood but the food was amazing.

Covered parking space at door:excellent.
Water system:oddly, too hot.
Decor:oudated.

This place was an absolute waste of money. The “brand new key” to the hotel door didn’t work, so you had to tug and jiggle to get the door open. None of the interior doors closed correctly so we couldn’t close the closet or bathroom door securely. Our CAR WAS BROKEN INTO on the first night, and of course, there were no cameras. We weren’t offered any discount or refund for that mess either. There is no wifi, so I hope you don’t have to do work while you’re staying there, or want to watch anything on your phone. There was a skylight above the bathroom?? so any pervert with a regular ladder could watch you pee. This place was horrible and way overpriced for what you get. Please save your money and stay somewhere else.

This small hotel is old and has old shaky beds with old style brocade bed spreads. It is clean, but that’s all I can say about it. The location is not in walking distance to the Square unless you consider a two plus mile walk on busy commercial streets walking distance. We survived our stay. It was after all only one night. It was well priced. Just think folks should know what to expect.

comfortable bed, covered parking, quiet, easy access to plaza, Very good for single travelers.

Retro motel with regional charm of real wood furniture & doors, spacious room, plenty of hot water, covered parking, old-school wall mounted gas heater & window mounted AC, noisy street, small bathroom not suitable for folks who are overweight or mobility challenged

No plastic glasses, 1 coffee cup, no ice, no heat. Clean & everything worked.

This is an old property that is very well maintained and cozy!
