This was an opportunity to visit a place that neither of us had been. Loved the history. The Lodge Alley Inn was a great location and a beautiful place to stay.

Great place-comfortable and lovely. Location was ideal for exploring historic area by foot. Loved it!!

The studio was very large, open and inviting. It was tastefully decorated and one of the most beautiful rooms I have stayed at. Front desk and resort staff were friendly and answered questions. There was a very nice bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. The back courtyard was large and spacious with lots of tables to sit and relax at.

Loved the room, the friendly staff and the very walkable location of the Lodge Alley Inn. We left our car in a nearby parking lot and were able to walk and take the free trolley around Charleston. Highly recommend.

I was here for 4 nights. This is a property that is part of a “club membership” arrangement so you may get a low-key pitch for buying a membership. But I enjoyed my stay here a lot. From this location you can walk most anywhere in the historic part of Charleston. There is no breakfast, even though your confirmation or reminder might say so! The room - I would actually call it a mini-suite was on the 3rd floor, in great shape, quiet, view out to the west. Staff very friendly. All in all a great place in Charleston.

This was a very clean, very quaint place with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The only thing is I wish they would have warned us about the bar right under the hotel. It was noisy at times but not too much of a nuisance on the third floor.

We stayed during a terrible storm but didn’t hear the winds and rain much at all. Thankfully the hotel is situated in the middle of many great restaurants so we were able to dash across the street and next door for great meals.

I enjoyed the stay at this resort. It did not give a antique vibe in my room. not at all like the picture presented. It was completely different. i stayed in the main resort building 2nd floor. It is a very modern clean but homey feel to the room. I feel it is more up scale than the picture represents. Now the local Cumberland garage parking is $18 max per day and rolls over at midnight (if you don't move it during the day) so keep that in mind. resort also have valet at around $30 daily with unlimited access if you plan to drive around during your stay.

i'll start with the two positives. awesome room, amazing location. everything else was awful. For clarity, it is NOT a hotel or airbnb. It's a timeshare. That means bad service and no room cleaning. I would never stay here again. There was nonstop construction from 7 am until 6 pm every day which I wasn't told would be happening. It was right below me in the main building and it was so loud and intense that my water bottle literally fell off the table from shaking. I couldn't hear my phone call it was so loud. Then if you want your car from the valet (which they talk you into doing with them as the only option), expect to wait 30 minutes to get your car. I needed to go somewhere at a certain time and there was only one person on staff getting cars and he was at the market. I ended up missing it and I even left 10 extra minutes padding time. Valet is always backed up with people waiting. Finally, the worst part was the extremely rude staff. Clarence who valeted was literally the best, but everyone else had an attitude and could not have cared less about my experience. I called and asked about the construction and how disturbing it was and they didn't have anything to say and didn't care. Then when it came to checking out, I was 5 minutes behind and they were so rude, calling the room nonstop for me to leave. After such a horrible stay, the least they could do was extend my check out time by 5 minutes. Just overall, don't stay here.

The Lodge at Alley Inn is in the perfect location. We stayed in a studio and it was very roomy, and well appointed. The valet service was perfect, though most days we chose to walk around.

The Lodge Alley Inn is a lovely home away from home in the downtown Charleston historic district. We have been visiting Charleston for many years and it is our favorite place to stay. Every staff member is friendly and eager to assist in any way. Amazing dining, shopping and waterfront park are just steps away. Just remember your walking shoes for those cobbleston sidewalks and streets!

Everything was wonderful, only exception was the room that I had reserved was not what we’re we stayed. Other than that all was good.

We had a great stay at Lodge Valley. The location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants, bars, and museums. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our doorman was helpful and reassuring during the tropical storm.

Very friendly staff and the room was larger and nicer than expected. The only possibly downside is that the music from surrounding bars is loud on the weekends. Highly recommend if you come to Charleston for the party atmosphere.

Excellent accommodations. Street and restaurant noise depending upon location. Adding an exercise facility would be a plus

Stayed here for a wedding night. Enjoyed the time here, very romantic old south charm close to every place you could want to go. Valet staff was amazing. Check in people were awesome too. Recommend to anyone looking to get away for a night or 10.

This was an excellent place to stay. Great proximity to all of the main areas of Charleston, like the shops and restaurants and walking the quaint neighborhood streets. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated but also had that rustic old town charm. The only negative is I wish there was no parking fee or at least it should have been less. Otherwise it was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again!

This was a great location close to restaurants and attractions. We walked everywhere. The area for dropping luggage to check in was very busy, and the people working there did their best to move things along. The front desk workers were friendly and helpful. Very easy to check in. The unit was exactly as pictured and was very warm and cozy. Everything was clean and well maintained. It was on the second floor overlooking the peaceful courtyard.
We had a fabulous meal at SNOB across the street and enjoyed live music there and at High Cotton which is attached to the resort. Highly recommend!

We found that this place was ideal for us. We were on a winter break (we are Canadians) and are interested in history and urban design (the physical arrangement of cities and how that affects the residents). Charleston is perfect for both. Although highly gentrified, it is interesting and beautiful. The history - especially the slave history added to the trip. This Hotel is right in the middle of the activity but also provides secluded areas. Bravo!

I enjoyed my stay, and this spacious room.

Love it in Charleston. This place is near almost everything in downtown, Waterfront Park, The Battery, and Rainbow Row. And, of course, shopping and food food food! Parking was close enough, but valet parking is available.
The staff was friendly and helpful and was everything Southern hospitality. The room exceeded our expectations. We were a little too close to the outdoor air conditioning system, so the noise was definitely there when the balcony was open, but it wasn’t too much more than a minor inconvenience. It was not noticeable at all when the balcony door was closed. This varies by room and specific location. The weather makes a difference; in this case I am happy the AC worked so well.
Really, we had to be picky to find something to complain about. We had a great time, and we will be coming back to that same property within a year or perhaps two.
