About this house rental
Sandy at the Beach is a newly updated, non-smoking ,three bedroom, three bathroom, two story property with an unheated private pool. Located in the desirable Crystal Beach area, the house can accommodate 11 people including two king beds, bunk beds for the kids, queen sleeper sofa and a twin rollaway bed. We also stock a new pack and play and a high chair. The first floor bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds for the youngsters with adjoining bathroom, direct access to the pool area, and full bathroom with walk in shower. The second floor has two nice sized bedrooms, both with king size beds and two full size bathrooms. The master bathroom shower is oversized , and the second bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Each bedroom has a balcony. Enjoy your sunny days at the Shore at Crystal Beach public beach access, (4 minute walk) or in your private pool with wrap around deck while enjoying the propane grill and lounge furniture. There is an outdoor shower for washing the sand off. We provide several chairs in a bag, a beach umbrella, beach toys for the kids, and a cooler for your drinks, so all you would need to bring are beach towels! The house is equipped with free wifi, Roku TV and free Netflix. You are welcome to bring a fire stick to access other streaming channels or local news channels. A full sized washer and dryer is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining table seats eight, plus a breakfast bar with seating for six. Many wonderful restaurants, shopping and activities are close by. Your location is in the middle of all that Destin has to offer! There are two parking spaces in front of the home, and a driveway in the back (on Matthew Blvd), with parking for two more vehicles. We do not rent to vacationing persons under 25 years of age., allow parties or large functions. Cause for immediate eviction. Pets (Dogs only) are allowed with the following stipulations; $300 per pet fee, with a weight limit of 50 pounds. No more than two pets. Must be housebroken and crated when renters leave them in for the day. Saturday to Saturday rentals in busy rental season. Half block from the sand and sea, minutes from grocery, restaurants,bars and stores. Beach was excellent sand was soft. Great time. Did not use the pool as weather was in high 60’s, but it looked great.

Great location and easy walk to the beach! House and yard are in need of TLC. The house is very beat up and in need of a deep clean. There is a very nice newer grill that was in great shape and clean. We did need to get propane as the tank was empty. The house has everything you will need as far as meals (pots, pans, baking sheets, mixing bowls, colander, cutlery, Keurig and coffee maker-even found an airfryer but did not use)
There is a deck box with chairs etc that should be cleaned out (someone left food in one of the chair pockets) For a nice dinner out we highly recommend Boshamps! Amazing food and phenomenal sunsets on the water.

The house was very clean & the beds were SO comfortable. We loved the privacy of the backyard & location of the house. We will definitely return to this spot if ever back in Destin.

Great Location, cute place. Little smaller than the pics represent but plenty of room for 6 of us and pets. No problem with check in or out and great communication. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay! We traveled with a family group of nine and had plenty of room. Jane, the property manager was very responsive and helpful. The proximity to the beach was good. I would recommend this property to others.

We loved the house. Was very roomy and clean. Had everything we needed. Only complaint which was not their fault was we shoulda done our homework first cuz I didn’t realize how much of the beach was private and did not like that. Also the pool was a little dirty and too shaded. It rained all week so wasn’t our favorite vacation.

We loved everything about this home. The location of the home was so close to the beach. The beds are super comfortable. Having the private pool was great because my 8 year old can swim all day if you let her and when we were not at the beach we were in the pool. Would definitely stay here again while in Destin.

We stayed at the house for 7 days. We had no issues during our stay and the host did a good job of communicating with us. We did expect the house to be a little cleaner than it was when we first got there since checkout time is at 9 am and check in time is at 4 pm. There was quite a bit of sand, trash left in the master bedroom, trash under the guest bed, and the vents were very rusty (not really a cleanliness issue, more of a salty air issue that can’t be controlled.) Since the vents in the floor were rusty, one of us accidentally stepped on one and it cracked (could have been a lot worse safety wise.) The pictures and sleeping space provided were accurate to the listing. We would have appreciated to have beach towels be provided since we flew in and couldn’t pack them but we ended up just purchasing them and left them at the house for future guests to use. The host was kind and accommodating.

We felt this was a very nice place, however the family room only accommodated seating for 3, and when you have a family of 8 it is very difficult to gather and hang out in the family room together. Would suggest a pit so there is a relaxing place to sit for all. The rooms all very nice, however advertised as sleeps 11, would say 4 adults and 4 kids could sleep here comfortably. Landscaping needs attention and pool needs painted, and it felt more like a fraternity house than a luxurious home for 11 as advertised. The manager was very nice, however we would probably not stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. It could’ve been a little cleaner than most, the tub upstairs doesn’t drain well. It was still a perfect week with our family. Wasn’t too far from the beach.

Perfect house for a girls weekend. It was too cold to swim in the pool, but we enjoyed hanging out around it. Great having a stocked kitchen too. Beds were comfy, even the bunk beds which we were unsure about as adults. Overall, great stay.

The minute we walked into this charming house we knew we were DESTINed to enjoy our stay! From the beautifully decorated home to the well thought out floor plan and not to mention the incredibly comfortable beds…we were very happy!! Absolutely Great Location, Location, Location! The guestbook of recommendations was also very helpful! Another breakfast place to add besides Ruby Slipper, The Donut Hole, Crackins which we loved…is First Watch! Overall we highly recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back in the future!

We utilized this property for spring break with 6 children and could not of been more happy. The house was in great shape and looked exactly like it was portrayed online. We would gladly stay at this property again.

We absolutely love that the beach was such a close walk from the home, and also short walking distances to a gas station and some eating options. Our 6 year old dog loved this home as well, he was such a lazy dog which just lounged around. Although it's fall, the back faces a resort and the pool is not heated, it did not stop us from enjoying the back where there is lots of privacy with trees and the privacy fencing with a cool dip! I would recommend this home to everyone and anyone! We enjoyed our Thanksgiving this year at the beach! Lots of cookware for our needs, and the family! Very spacious for your family, never felt crowded. Made lots of memories here, and you should too!

The weather was cold but it is January. House was perfect for what we needed. Bedrooms were comfortable and the 3 bathrooms were perfect. Kitchen had everything we needed to make big breakfasts for 6 people. The walk to beach is not far and I would recommend staying at this property to anyone looking for a place in Destin. Lots of restaurants within a 10-15 walk. Other places are easy to Uber to and the drivers are excellent.

The location can not be beat! We loved the proximity to the beach and the cute neighborhood. I would give this place a 5 star review because of location and quick response from owner, however, there were multiple lights out that we didn't want to deal with on vacation and a few of the kitchen cabinet doors are broken. The gates are not secure (no latches-- held together with string) and our dog got out. A few quick fixes would bring my rating to a 5/5. The house needs some love.
Will def be back to this area though-- had a great time and the beaches can't be beat.

- air conditioning broke on our last day and couldn’t be fixed before we left, was 85 degrees in the house for the entire last night. Completely understandable but just a text saying it would be tomorrow - would have been nice if he would have offered fans or at least ask how we were
- light doesn’t work in pool
- remote to living room light is on same frequency as upstairs bedroom and causes issues
- kitchen light is very odd- it decides when it wants to work
Full disclosure we didn’t complain about anything other than the broke air conditioner. The rest was manageable as we had great vacation.
Tip if you stay here- go up one block to the main beach entrance, there is more public beach space not blocked by the condos and the showers are better to get the sand off at that one.

Very disorganized kitchen, no measuring cups or spoons. The guest bedroom upstairs bed was not comfortable at all, the sheets were torn. And the bathtub did not drain properly when you took a shower the tub would fill up. Furniture downstairs needs replaced with more comfortable seating for a family. Also the kitchen table chairs at either end were not good, the seats are broken down. Weird light switches, hard to get the kitchen light on ,you had to keep flipping the switch up and down until it came on. The controls for the fans lights were weird as well, again we were in the guest bedroom and kept turning the downstairs light fan off and off. There also needs to be more kitchen towels and dish cloths. The pool was nice if you could keep it clean of leaves, that was an issue. Patio furniture was dirty, cushions were very dirty, needs to be replaced. The dryer was good but the washer took forever to do a load of laundry. I didn’t care for the location, there was issues with the beach, you could only setup at certain places, if you weren’t staying at one of the resorts or condos on the beach they wouldn’t let you set up . And there were actually people asking us where were staying and it was limited area where you could be at. So even though you are fairly close to a beach access doesn’t mean you can set up around there. It’s really stupid how they do the beach there. I miss staying right on the beach and just walking out and setting up for the day. And if that’s what you are looking for this is not the right place for you. Next time we will choose more wisely. Also there was a discrepancy with the check out time. An email that I received said 9 am the VRBO app said 10 am. There was a note on the cork board that said check out time was 10 am. The night before I started getting text messages from the cleaning people, wanting to know what time we were leaving in the morning, even though they said they were pushing us out I felt we were. I kept getting texts. It was annoying.

We had a great time in Destin! The house was perfect for our needs. A public beach access was just a couple of blocks away, close enough to walk to, but the amount of space for the public is very small. It’s unfortunate that Destin has allowed so much of the beach access to be ‘private’. We ended up going to Princess beach one day and Henderson beach another just so we could have room for the kids to spread out. This would in no way deter us from staying at the house again. We really liked the location, kinda out of all the resort business but close to everything we needed. The pool at the house was also great to have, especially when the kiddos got tired at the beach but the adults still wanted some sun time.

Nice place, had fenced area for dogs. Easy walk to the beach. Too cold to swim in pool tho! But It was nice to get away from cold and snow. The backyard of the house is located on a busy street, kind of noisy for us. But we had a very nice vacation!
