WARNING: SEVERE BEDBUG INFESTATION, PHYSICAL INJURY, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY

WARNING: SEVERE BEDBUG INFESTATION, PHYSICAL INJURY, AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY DO NOT BOOK HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. OUR VACATION WAS COMPLETELY RUINED. This place has an active, severe bedbug infestation. We woke up covered head-to-toe in violent bite clusters. Upon inspecting the mattress, we caught a live bedbug crawling directly inside the seam, bagged it, and documented everything with clear photos. We had to visit an emergency medical clinic in Italy, where the doctor confirmed severe inflammatory complications and immediately prescribed an emergency oral steroid regimen (Medrol) and antibiotic cream (Fucicort). Instead of taking responsibility for a biohazard that caused documented bodily harm, the host acted entirely dismissive and offered an insulting 50% discount on just ONE night, falsely blaming us for not reporting the bites sooner (as if bedbug reactions don't take days to manifest). We spent entire days of our trip quarantined, boiling our clothes in industrial laundromats, disinfecting luggage, and sitting in medical clinics. Staying here is a direct health hazard. Unsafe, unhygienic, negligent management, and a complete disaster. Avoid at all costs.

Great location but...

The location, and the apartment was spacious and airy.

Our stay was extremely disappointing and quite stressful. The biggest issue was that the apartment had no hot water for the first three days of our stay. Despite reporting this, the problem couldn't be resolved, and we were eventually told we had to relocate. This meant completely repacking all of our belongings, including food and drink we had already purchased, and moving to another apartment 30 minutes away—hardly a small inconvenience when you’re meant to be on holiday. Just as we were settling into the new place, we were then required to move back again to the original apartment for our final night, given a deadline of 10 am in the morning, not taking in consideration whether or not we had anything booked for that day. Luckily, we didn’t, otherwise we would have missed it. This second move added even more disruption and frustration. To make matters worse, when we returned, the hot water issue still wasn’t properly fixed— the shower was tepid at best. Overall, the constant moving back and forth completely disrupted our trip and made what should have been an enjoyable visit to Florence feel somewhat frustrating. By the end, we were relieved to leave and go back to Verona for the last day of our holiday. To be fair, the hosts did communicate regularly throughout, which we appreciated. However, communication alone doesn’t make up for the significant inconvenience and lack of a satisfactory resolution. In the future, I will only book hotel accommodation. I wouldn't class the property as luxury but, had everything been ok, it is value for money.

Sweet, charming flat for a family stay just outside the tourist area

The flat was charming and cozy. The bed was comfortable, and the tile shower was a nice touch. The location was great in a spot that was out of the crazy crowded tourist area and in a neighborhood with great restaurants and piazzas.

The flat needs some maintenance, touch up paint here and there. The kitchen counter needs to be fixed or updated. And the floor needs a good, deep clean.
