Went to stay at this locations and a half hour before check in was told that it was overbooked. We had a group of 22 people driving 3-5 hours to come to this location. When I arrived into town was when I was told I wouldn’t be staying in this location. The owner then messaged me about staying in another location close by, this place while it slept all the people, was not at all what we wanted. I when talking to the owner at the new location there was no bedding, the house was not cleaned, and the bathroom in the guest house didn’t work. We had 22 people using one bathroom. We were promised king sized sheet to be dropped off and they never were and three weeks later still haven’t received the refund that was promised for switching places.

Everything was beautifully decorated, and fully furnished. The atmosphere was fantastic. The living space on the 1st floor made fellowship realy great. The view was spectacular. Snow capped trees, hilltop view, and fire in the fireplace all weekend. It made our retreat amazing. Adam worked with us leading up to the event, and went above and beyond. Would reccomend this property to everyone

The property and the cabin itself were amazing and felt super cozy. We had enough to do anything we wanted. The trails and some paths around the property had fantastic views, overall this was a great time for all of us. The only comment we have is to figure out having a more stable and dependable WIFI source. Luckily that wasn’t something we focused on as we didn’t really need it.

This cabin is absolutely breath taking. The cabin, view and cleanliness is top notch. However we were told there would be a hot tub the weekend we stayed and there was not (why we booked this cabin in the first place- it was a make or break for us). The master bedroom shower was in pieces with tools still in it. The WiFi password given did not match the wifi options so we had no wifi all weekend when we had 2 people virtually that had to find wifi elsewhere. Messaged host multiple times with concerns over the weekend with little to no response. got the correct wifi password 6 hours before check out (4 am). Talked a little to host after to discuss issues said he would call me back, haven’t heard anything since.

The views from this place are next-level for Michigan - we're talking hilltop spot with mountain-like sights that just steal your breath first thing in the morning.
Inside, the house is just as impressive. Think high-end furniture mixed with some super cool decor - a canoe with a chandelier hanging from the living room ceiling kind of cool! It was a hit with all the kids (and the adults, let’s be honest).
And for those who can’t quite unplug (or have to sneak in a bit of work), the internet here is pretty good.

Large group needed a weekend getaway. Gorgeous place to stay. Loved the views and place was spotless.

This house was as advertised. Great location and fit our group of 12 comfortably. The view was amazing in the backyard and we appreciated the ease of arrival and departure. Would stay here again.

This was our 4th annual Labor Day trip up North, first time in this cabin. There were 10 of us, plenty of space for all of us. We come up to ride the trails, but we have downtime at the cabin as well. We cooked all or our meals and had adequate cooking and eating space which can be an issue for large groups. We grilled, used the crockpot, baked pre-shaped cookies. Close to town to grab things from the store. Great trails to ride! The home is beautiful. I personally would not want 25 people due to only 3 bathrooms, but the downstairs has a bathroom that allows two people sink and mirror space with a separate door for the toilet and shower, so 3 people can get ready at once. Lots of outdoor seating. The fire pit and hammocks were wonderful-we used it all! So fun!

When we arrived it was 85 degrees and there was not any air conditioning. I contacted Adam at 5:30pm, he said the staff would be there to take care of it. At 9:45 I received a text stating that the staff was on the way to install the AC units. The staff arrived at 11:00pm with portable window units. They were only able to install 2 units. Several things in the house need repaired and or cleaned. However, the outside was very nice.

We had multiple issues with our stay at this VRBO. The coffee pot was not functional so we had to go to McDonald’s everyday to get coffee, a large set of antlers fell off the wall and came close to my 2 year old, the fire alarm went off almost every night when someone showered waking up our kids, the hot tub smelled like worms and we felt unsafe to get in it. The advertised sauna on the property does not work. When bringing up our concerns to the property manager in real time sometimes there was a delay for 1-2 days before getting an answer. My husband tried to start 4th of July dinner and the propane was empty for the grill. We got no check in information and when trying to reach out to host for info he didn’t seem to know that we were staying at the property. We messaged him 3 days before check in with no response and called him 4 times on day of check in and got ignored for hours. I have given the host multiple opportunities to correct our problems but he has not made it right. He does not seem to care about the guest experience at all just wants to collect a check. The property is beautiful and has so much potential but be warned I would stay far away from this property manager. There was no accountability for the problems that occurred. We had to run out 2 days into our stay and get toilet paper and trash bags for a house that should accommodate a large number of guests. Simply unacceptable, stay away at all costs!!!

Lots of room with amazing view! We found the kitchen wasn’t well stocked with cookware etc but plenty of eating areas. We loved the long table on the deck that we could have our meals family style with our large group. The hot tub wasn’t hot and very dirty. The fire pit was used for hours every night, and beautiful. Communication with host was minimal at best.

Stay was good few issues . No doors locked. Garage doors that were bedrooms were not secured could be opened easily. The spa was filthy my brother in law drained and cleaned so we could use (he has a spa ).
Coffee pot took not kidding 1hour to make a pot . We went to McDonalds to get coffee . They also really need ceiling fans or air conditioning for upper bedroom . Thermostats said 75-80 everynight even with window open. But property was beautiful and we would stay again . Iam sure property owner is working on the issues . Seems like they are in process of fixing it up to be really nice .

We recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem—a lodge so enchanting and breathtaking that it left us spellbound. From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was something truly special. Whether you're seeking an extraordinary vacation getaway or a magical wedding destination, this lodge will exceed your wildest dreams.
This lodge seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern comforts.
The accommodations are nothing short of extraordinary. From comfortable beds that make you feel like you're floating on a cloud to spacious bathrooms that evoke a sense of tranquility, every aspect of the cabins exudes comfort and elegance. The attention paid to preserving the lodge's natural surroundings is commendable.
But what truly sets this lodge apart is its versatility as a wedding venue. Whether you're envisioning an intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, this is the place where dreams come true.
The property itself is a work of art, meticulously designed to provide both comfort and sophistication.
The beautifully landscaped outdoor areas provide a romantic backdrop for exchanging vows or hosting a cocktail hour.
From the moment we made reservation until check out, Adam went above and beyond and was responsive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about our comfort.
If you're looking for a host who goes the extra mile to make your wedding experience memorable, Adam is the perfect choice.

The house is beautiful and has a awesome view over looking valley. This was the worst VBRO I have every experienced.
1. House had not been cleaned or ready for check-in when we arrived.
2. We checked in late Sunday waiting for the home to be cleaned, no heat until Tuesday morning about 3AM.
3. There was not a VBRO book to let you know about the house and if you had problems what to do.

Stayed here on a raining chilly weekend. The property had great space and activities to keep us busy. Will definitely staying here again.

The property was just perfect for our men's retreat. We were able to unplug and experience the beauty of nature from the large deck. We cooked great food in the kitchen. We all were able to fit comfortably. I would recommend this place and will come back next time I'm in Mio!

Beautiful home with a lovely view. Close to a small town but very private and country setting. Easy directions. Managers responded to questions and concerns timely. Would definitely stay again.

Immediately was in contact with the property owner Adam. He answered all my concerns and was very accurate. He contacted me during my stay to make sure we was having a great time. This property is a must see...

I would highly recommend this property for any large family gathering. It features large gathering spaces and the best view in Oscoda County. Adam responded quickly to any of our concerns and was a gracious host! There was some confusion about the number of bedrooms but there are plenty of options to find sleeping quarters. We were all very happy with this property!

Great lodge with incredible view. There is plenty of room for our kids to have fun with all the games in the basement. We got 8" of snow on the Saturday we were there that made for some excellent sledding on the driveway and a little path behind the playground area for adventure lovers. The host had plow service out same day as the snow to make sure we could get in and out with all the snow. Some excellent in floor heat in areas of the main level was a nice perk.

A group of us stayed here in February of 2021. Decided we must go back! The new owner communicated extremely friendly and well. The process of staying was absolutely seamless. This gorgeous home is nothing short of breathtaking. Every corner you turn is handcrafted and tells a story. Promise you will feel at home from the time you walk in the door. All of the beds are a 10 for comfort and kitchen as well as the home are stocked and clean with every utensil you would need. There are no pictures that would ever do this BEAUTIFUL lodge justice or the view. 10/10 for sure!

Very beautiful area and property. Nice amenities. Adam(host) was very responsive and in fact, responded even after midnight with questions. He made sure that all my answers are taken care of.
Only one thing- if the roads are icy then going up hill with two wheel drive can be challenging. Adam made sure that snow is prop removed but icing can not be helped.
I will visit again to this property

Upon arrival there was no key in the lockbox, calls had to be made and the owner was responsive at this time and helped us get an alternate way into the house. The weekend we stayed was the coldest weekend of the winter. When we entered the house it was cold, 55 degrees and there were little electric heaters everywhere. There were fireplaces, in the listing there was no indication that guests had to bring their own wood for heat. The owner was contacted about the temperature of the house and his reply was guest supply their own wood, we had to run to the local market and buy $86 of wood to get fires started, which the owner said he’d pay us for and he has not. That was only a start of wood to keep the fire places going and it was not enough fire to heat the house. it would be important for guests to know if they will be staying with open fireplaces that have to be lite for heat when bringing kids to the place. We continued to keep fire in the fire places but the house was still freezing, 55-58 degrees we had to sleep in our coats, hats, and clothes. When we contacted the owner again he said well the heat for the home must not be working. He said he would call maintenance right away. We texted all night asking about how to get the heat for the home to work and when maintenance would be coming and did not get any help. The next morning we had to continue contacting the owner for help with the heat, finally at 130 in the afternoon the previous owner came and told us the heat was set to fall temperatures and it would never get the home warm enough for us at the winter temperatures we were experiencing. It isn’t a normal heating system-no thermostat in the home, and the previous owner told us it was going to take a while to get the house heated to a comfortable temperature. By Saturday evening the temperatures were warmer. The house finally reached 72 degrees on Sunday (the day we were checking out). We have been trying to work with the owner to get the extra unexpected money we paid for the wood back and some compensation for the heat issues with our stay but it’s been 2 weeks now since our stay and he has not provided us with anything. He did say it’s a complex heating system and it will be replaced next fall but that doesn’t help what we dealt with in the time we paid to stayed there. Also, there are 2 Saunas on the property neither of them work. Spider webs and mice droppings and food in one of the bedrooms and beds. Driveway requires 4WD.

We absolutely loved our stay. Hoping to return again next year. Adam was awesome in quickly answering questions and the home was outstanding!

Stayed here with friends while doing some canoeing. The property had everything we needed and was large enough for everyone to feel as though they had their own space.

This is a beautiful lodge and very nicely decorated! Lots of space for our large group. Large kitchen and living room and the basement space had a large living space and game area the kids loved. There was only 4 bedrooms and not 5 like the listing said, but still plenty of beds. The driveway was hard to find and Google map has the entrance on a different road so it was confusing to find, also the driveway was very steep and while it was plowed well we needed to have 4 wheel drive to get up it. The one vehicle in our group without 4 wheel drive had to be left down at the bottom of the driveway.
Communication from the owner was very poor. I had to reach out to him to get instructions to enter well after check in time. I reached out again the first morning of our stay for the wifi password and to ask about the washing machine not working. He didn't answer until 11 that night to say the wifi password was on the fridge, it was not. Also never said anything about the washer not working. The sauna also didn't work.
Overall it is a beautiful home and we will most likely stay again, we will just know what to expect next time.

Family weekend with grandkids and children at this beautiful home. The most peaceful place I have been in years. With all of the fresh powder snow, my daughter was able to snowboard down the hill right next to the house. Highly recommended.

We booked this log cabin for a fun weekend getaway with our friends. We both have young children and this cabin was perfect. In addition to setting the ambiance of a northern lodge complete with all the decor that you would expect from a cabin in the Northern woods.; the cabin was well equipped for our party of 11. This luxury log lodge had all tons of entertainment for our kids, and plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The large driveway was a perfect sledding hill, and the sauna made for a relaxing place to unwind after a long day in the cold. Mio has everything to offer those who love the outdoors. Weather you like, hunting, fishing, hiking, or ORV trail riding there were plenty of options. I highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a luxury experience in the Prue Northern Michigan wilderness.

Live the location . Drive and walk could have been shoveled out better. I did the walk myself. We stayed here multiple times. It definitely wasn’t as clean as in the past.
