Very unprofessional owner who cancelled our stay on the same day of arrival !!!

I have been customer of booking.com for many years. What happened with this flat has never happened to me before. I booked this flat months ago for a medical conference. I have paid for 1-2 people (same price) and communicated 10 days in advance about the fact that we were 2 guest. The owner was aware. However, the day before my flight a third party contacted me sending me a different link to register our details. I could only do this in the evening after work but I did it. This third party started texting me on whatzapp in the late evening and insisted that I had to change the booking reservation to 2 people but this was no longer allowed on the Booking.com app. When I said that I couldn't, they threatened me to not letting me check in at the property. The following day, while I was at the airport, without any notice they cancelled my booking - 5 hours before my arrival in Madrid !!! This showed extreme lack of professionalism that caused distress to me and my colleagues. We were very lucky to find another place available on booking on the same day of our arrival. So please be careful. As customers , we have a the full amount to pay if we cancel last minute, but the owners don't have any fee or penalty and so they can do what they like. I am writing this feedback in order to warn the next customers !! This owner could potentially behave in the same way again cancelling your stay at the last minute and he can in the future disrupting someone else's plan of work or holiday.
