About this house rental
In the middle of an olive grove lies our villa, Casa Mario, far from tourism in the Madonie Mountains of Sicily. The villa is furnished in a country house style and offers all the comforts you would not want to miss at home. The upper area is equipped with a modern kitchen (gas stove, dishwasher, electric oven, Italian coffee maker, Bosch fridge), two bedrooms, living room, dining room and a guest toilet. An external staircase leads to the lower area, which again has a bedroom with 4 beds, a small kitchen and a shower room. There are two terraces: the upper one is equipped with two parasols and a wooden table with 4 chairs and two sun loungers. The lower terrace is covered, has a lava stone table with 8 chairs, a brick grill, a couch with a table and a small cupboard for plates, cutlery and glasses. In the middle of the spacious garden (1 hectare), surrounded by fruit trees, palm trees and olive trees, is the swimming pool (10 x 5 meters) about 100 meters from the lower terrace. There are four loungers, a Dedon basket as well as a couch group with shade-giving parasols and an awning. The pool is filled with saline water and is automatically supplied with the respective chemicals.

The home has many wonderful features and is a central part of Sicily. We loved the small town of Caltavuturo and got to know some of the towns people as we made trips to the town each day for food or groceries. The pizza and all-around food at Cathe in town was excellent, some of the best pizza in Italy. We got to know the pizza bakers as we watched them churn out hundreds of pizzas the night they swore in the new mayor. Mauricio at Siragusa pastry shop was great and his gelato and pastries were the best we had in all of our Italy trip. The dogs next door to the home were very cute and friendly. We greatly enjoyed our visit.

Great place with lots of very nice seating area’s to have a drink, a chat, or just to enjoy the view. The pool is very large, and also a great place to hang around.
