Great location for the start of the Iditarod and centrally located to everywhere. Very clean and quaint with nice staff!
It would be nice if the rooms had microwaves and small refrigerators.

Breakfast was good, great location near Alaskan Railway

Friendly staff. Location. Unique older hotel.
Mattresses appeared lumpy but slept well in them.

Location was perfect! Within a 5 minute walk to Visitors Center, Trolley Ride, 49th State Brewery, Alaskan Museum and Tia’s Hot Dog Cart. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
No air conditioning so room got a bit stuffy, but large fan was in all rooms and windows open to let in breezes.

location
The manager entered our room at 8am without knocking and accused us of smoking weed. Very unprofessional staff. The plumbing was very out dated and worked poorly.
7.0
The location and price can’t be beat.
Be careful that you are not visiting during an event. This is an adorable little historic hotel. That being said, the floors freak very badly, the windows are a bit leaky, and there is zero sound dampening capacity in the ceilings/walls/floors. As long as everyone is respectful, it works. As soon as a fellow guest needs to come home late and fight or have sex, it’s like everyone is participating.

I loved the historic element the esthetic the staff and the location. It was very clean and Terry went out of her way to help us book our daughter who had another hotel that was less than par.
Nothing it was absolutely fabulous

Historic with all the modern amenities. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Rooms are well furnished, clean and comfortable. There is a elevator. Close to everything downtown and train station.
Nothing…great stay.

The building is small and charming but the rooms are large.
Lack of A/C meant we had to open windows and deal with street noice.

Excellent downtown location
Easy to walk everywhere in town
Clean and comfortable
Breakfast was basic but good- omelette, hash browns, sausage pattis - With some cereal and toast

Excellent location, historic atmosphere was excellent. Breakfast was good.
LOUD vending machine caused us to ask for a different room (which we got), Heat in room was difficult to control. No shuttle to/from airport or train station.

Room 201 was a disappointment. Street noise resonates into the room...the face plate on the door handle was loose, making it harder to close the door.
Hotel advertises 'parking without sharing the $18 daily fee.

Lovely hotel, welcoming & friendly owner & staff, central location, comfy beds. As another review said, this is a hidden gem.
A little street noise at night ( not the hotel's fault )

The bathroom is very nice. Deep and roomy bathtub made it all better.
Room is small but it is a historic hotel so I took this into account.

No Breakfast offered, the bar was closed as well as the business center
Off site parking inconvenient

We woke up too late for breakfast. The downtown location was great!
The age of the building comes with the odor of a very old building.
