This should be a great home to have in VRBO availability. Unfortunately it needs to have a couple of weeks of maintenance and repairs. Hours after arrival our Grand kids were laying on the sofa’s and noticed that their feet were really dirty from walking barefoot in the house. Landscaping is a mess. Garage is loaded with previous replacement appliances. The back door needs door handle and latch replaced. When walking in to kitchen the Sheetrock on the corner of the bar area is separated.
Exterior show signs of stucco repairs paint not matching. Widows rotten in kitchen area. Bolster broken on staircase. Downstairs flooring was replaced with a cheaper laminate flooring and needs replaced. Upon arrival the house had a serious musty smell. We went and bought plug-ins to alleviate the smell.
The house is in an awesome location. Layout is good. Should be a wonderful place to enjoy. Unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired with current conditions. As a fellow VRBO homeowner it was disappointing to spend this much money for the current conditions.

Some buddies and I (11 of us) took our annually golf trip and decided on Destin. This house was very clean and perfect for a group of our size. Would certainly recommend.

I will begin with the positive by saying the house was large enough to accommodate our family of 13 comfortably. The property is located directly beach front however it is just beside the public beach access which led to extreme crowding.
In general the house is in pathetic disrepair. There are several areas of rotten wood inside which lends to a stale odor/stench. In addition there was mold around several windows and around air conditioning vents. The bathrooms, to be honest, were disgusting and had mold and mildew around the edges of very old shower/tub inserts. We contacted the management about the mold, but they never sent anyone to inspect or clean.
Prior to our stay we read several reviews about the oven and ice maker being broken. When we contacted them to inquire if the repairs had been made, they offered to let us cancel our reservation but there would be no refund of our money because it was too late for a cancellation. We were assured by the management company that these repairs had been made via calls and e-mail. They were not only not repaired but the parts to repair them had not been received according to the service man sent out to check the appliances. In addition, there was mildew inside of the ice maker. The refrigerator was quite unclean and had a sticky brown residue below the drawers. This is a three story home with a large staircase. The railing is not stable and actually had one broken piece. The deck around the pool is also loose.

Great location. Nice house in serious need of some TLC.Needs a lot of minor repairs to the faucets, door handles, floors, etc.It didn't ruin our vacation, but when you pay what this house costs, you expect it to be in at least good, if not prime condition. It is advertised having 9 bedrooms, but one of the "bedrooms" is nothing more than a hallway with a set of bunk beds and a door to the outside.

We stayed here from May 7th-14th 2023 with our entire family and can provide you with an accurate and detailed review of the property. Please know that this is more a reflection of the management company and the terrible job they did than the house itself or the homeowner. We rent beach houses all the time and have normal expectations of typical wear and tear, etc.Let’s start with what is great about this house. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Destin and the views are amazing for lack of a better word. The home itself, while dated, is spacious and beautiful. That is about all you can say that is good.Below was our experience at the house:1. We arrived on Sunday 1 hour prior to check-in time. I had my father-in-law with me who is handicapped. I called Benchmark and asked if we could go ahead and enter the property since it was hot outside and the home looked vacant and ready. They informed me to do that would cost $65.00. I said that was a bit ridiculous but okay. They then informed me that they had not completed the final inspection so that we could not enter. I felt relieved that someone was going to come look and make sure everything was ready and accepted the situation.2. The trash out front was jam packed full of trash when we arrived and smelled terrible. The cans were not brought to the road, and we ended up having to haul the trash from the previous guests to the road.3. While waiting I walked around to the back of the home to look at the view and the pool. The pool was completely full of sand, trash, and dirt. I showed the lady completing her inspection and she told me that it should have already been cleaned, that she was sorry and that she would get someone to come clean it asap.4. The next day no one had come to clean the pool, even after calling and emailing and texting them. Obviously with young kids they wanted to use the pool. Overall the trip was good. Benchmark is proactive in communications with text. Bellagio accommodated our family well. The kids had space as well as each couple.. the negative is the close proximity to public beach access. Even though it was May, the beaches got very crowded especially on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Was notified the day before my stay that the oven did not work. During our stay, the elevator did not work, the pool was dirty and would not heat, furniture was soiled/stained, spiders found in two of the beds, and because the steps were not secured to the bunk bed one of the kids fell off the steps trying to get on the top bunk. On my vow renewal day, instead of focusing on my ceremony, I received a visit from a rep from the company to discuss my experience while my stylist was doing my hair in the bathroom. Just sad! I advise all guests to take pics before and after their stay. This company is not trustworthy at all. My mother-in-law had to sleep on the couch, as she could not walk up the steps and my guests did not want to sit on the soiled chairs in the kitchen. In addition, the caterer spent way more time than anticipated preparing our meals. This company does not sell the experience they promise. I asked for the company's legal team information and was originally told it was on their website. That was a lie! They then told me to have my lawyer call the guests relations number. I have never been so disappointed!

We stayed at this property for a week in early November… The location is great! Just steps out the back door is the white sand beach that Destin is famous for. Communication with the management company was great and easy. However, the property manager himself was difficult to work with. We had several issues with the house, which the property management company took care of promptly, which was great! The house is well worn either from VRBO guests or just time. Prior to coming I had called the management company and asked about all the issues that were revealed in prior reviews on Vrbo. They assured me that almost all of them had been taken care of, except the ovens. The ovens were very slow to heat and uneven cooking. They have new ones on order, and those will be installed at some point in the future… As others noted, the burners on the stove don’t work very well either. We had a private chef come in and cook one evening, and he had to use all of the flawed equipment. But he was a pro, And made it work well! I reached out to the management company twice before arriving asking if there was a pack and play available and a high chair. They were never able to answer me. Upon arriving, we found to pack and plays, and a highchair, dusty and in rough condition in the garage. This property boasts of six parking spaces… We had three SUVs parked in the driveway and it was very hard to get in and out. The two garage spaces in the property do have quite a bit of junk in them and it is a very tight squeeze for something like a suburban to fit in there, so if you are driving a large vehicle, do not plan on parking in the garage. Also, the pictures of the pool are a little deceiving, it is much smaller than the pictures make it look like. I will say that we had the pool heated while we were there and the pool heat works very well! We have been at other properties where the pool heat just barely functions. So this was a pleasant surprise to have a good pool heat for the kids to jump in on the cooler days especially . We had ages 60 down to 18 months and there was plenty of room in the house for everyone. It is good to note that the bedroom that is above the garage is not accessible directly through the house. You have to go outside. But it is like its own little apartment with a kitchenette, table, bathroom, and bedroom. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves particularly because of the great location of this house! Because of the location one can overlook the flaws!

Location and ease of access were great; size of house and bed arrangement perfect for our family mix (mostly adult couples). House did have some problems related to age. Elevator failed to work so everyone including my 87 year old dad had to use stairs, or sleep in bunk beds. Back door would not open fully as floor was warped. Maintenance responded quickly but several days for elevator and more for the door, and still not working just right. Will need some time to fully correct this. The women felt house was not very clean (streaky floors, windows and counter tops, sand in pool. etc.). I did find the management team to be very responsive, albeit it did take some time. Bottom line, although many positives not sure commensurate with the very high price we paid (value).

The place needs some TLC for sure. The dishwasher was broken the first 3 days of our visit, waiting for a part. The size of that kitchen really should have two dishwashers anyway, but it doesn't. Kitchen was well stocked, ice maker was great to have. Oven seemed to be slow to heat up, but otherwise worked great. The stove stop should be replaced, 2 of the burners just don't get very hot. Patio door needs some work so it opens properly and the island needs water damage on front portion fixed.
But we had an awesome family vacation and would definitely stay here again!

We rent premium housing and this property is not worth the money!!! there are MAJOR issues with the house and will not be returning. the benchmark management team was basically non responsive to any requests and fixing the repairs needed. This property is in the middle of a new planned public beach area by the city of Destin and the private home and beach we used to enjoy has now become a circus!!! there is a public notice sign next door stating the city's plans. may be why the owners do nothing to fix or improve this property. There appears to have been a major plumbing problem in the island in the kitchen-- and not totally fixed.1. pool full of sand when we arrived. a continuous problem year after year2. dishwasher did not work at all. called management and a guy stopped by for 30 seconds and never heard back from management again. had to hand wash dishes the entire week. UHG !!3. ovens are poor. upper oven slow to heat and cook. lower oven does not turn on at all. had the same problem in past years. never addressed by Benchmark.4. grills are rusted in poor condition and ready to collapse-- never replaced over the years.5. the large beautiful windows need cleaning. they are heavily coated with salt and sand. my husband went to Lowes and bought a squeegee to clean. 6. tiles on the front steps are cracked and broken. a big safety hazard.7. the door from the kitchen to the pool deck is a total mess. it opens about 15" maximum and scrapes the floor every time you open/close the door. no one came by to look at or fix after we called.

The refrigerator and appliances were antiquated and dishwasher didn't clean well. The grill was disgusting as it probably hadn't been cleaned in years and there was no propane. Did I mention the cockroaches? We found 5 of them. There was sand on the floors upstairs in the closets and bathrooms. No tv until Sunday, no internet until Thursday. The carriage house over the garage was so dirty I didn't go up the stairs because the carpet was so filthy. This was not worth the $17,000+ we spent for a week. We ended up leaving a day early as a result.

This house is very rundown and not well kept. Lots of repairs are needed. Serious plumbing issues. They had a leak over the tub on the 2nd floor master bedroom that they left exposed for the week I was there. Couldn’t take a bath in the tub I didn’t know if something would fall out of the ceiling. The top oven doesn’t work right. Left side of top open cooks food faster than the right side causes food to burn on the left. The A/C is controlled by programming and goes up to 76 every 2 hours. We tried to modify the settings but no luck so there were a few hot nights. The property was also dirty when we arrived. Floors were black. If you walked around barefoot your feet were black and one worker told me the floors were installed 2-3 months ago. I’m not sure if it’s the homeowner or the property management company in regard to these issues.

The house is beautiful and in a great location. However, I spent a great deal of money and when we arrived the house was still dirty. Popcorn and cereal on the floor...sand in the bathrooms. Large dead water roaches which I can tell the property is exterminated, but you could tell the cleaners had not cleaned. BBQ pit was fill of grease so much so that we could not get it our without spilling it. All in all we had a great time, but the management company needs to do a better job of cleaning the house before new renters come in.

Every year about 20 of us getaway to Destin in September. This was our second year at the Bellagio. This house is magnificent! The staff is very responsive. This year we had gone several days after Hurricane Sally. The inside of the house was immaculate, however, because of the recent storm the outside yard area had lots of debris, we did not have use of the pool for two days until it was cleaned, and garbage cans were full.

Large open spaces including the dining and kitchen area. a slight concern would be the lack of dressers and drawers in each bedroom. either put all your clothing on the white shelving in the over sized closets or work out of a suitcase (on the floor ).

The house and location are perfect. The house is beautiful. Our group really enjoyed our stay and the beach service came with the rental was a bonus. The only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the pots and pans for cooking. The ones in the house are old and dirty. We had to go to to walmart to purchase new ones to use during our stay. Other than that we have no complaints. We would come back again.

I booked directly with Benchmark and they were great! Chelsea was very helpful and patient with all of my questions! The house is amazing. The view is better than the pictures look. There was plenty of space for the 17 adults in our group and we never felt crowded. The pool was perfect and was nice to lounge in while looking at the ocean. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The carriage house is nice but did have a strange odor. The other reviews are correct in saying the top oven does not heat as well as the bottom oven but it didn't affect us that much. For the very minor inconvenience of the oven pretty much EVERYTHING else was perfect! The location is perfect for food and shopping but not on a busy part of the beach with hotels. The level of relaxation and peacefulness are priceless. We will definitely be back!

Our family of 20 from all over the US stayed for a week over the 2017 Xmas holiday and had a fabulous time at the Bellagio. The house and beach are gorgeous and clean. A bit of work in progress in carriage house was no problem. The management was very helpful and their crew rapidly responded to our requests. One suggestion is to install a garbage disposal. We would be happy to have a chance to return to this terrific location.
