Ultimate Group Gathering Home in Flagstaff 6 bdrm\/5 bath on Mt. Elden
About this house rental
Located in Flagstaff, this attractive house for £477 per night is a great option for your next break. Updates: We are always upgrading and investing to make the home a perfect place for our guests to connect with friends and family. We have added an expansive 350 square feet deck overlooking the National Forest and Mt. Elden. With two large tables and seating for 14 and twinkling lights, it's the perfect place to gather. We also added more deck fun with a 36" Blackstone Griddle. A great way to make a big meal, fast! And with the addition of solar electricity, your stay is 100% powered by Arizona’s sun. About the home: With the namesake of St. Moritz, a famous Switzerland mountain getaway, this five-star rated property home was destined to welcome and accommodate guests all year around. With 5,000 square feet of mountain-side amenities, there is space to both play together and relax in peace. 6 bedrooms and 5 baths in this multi-level home and casita studio suite, will comfortably accommodate large groups of up to 20 guests. The home sleeps 16 in beds, with with double occupancy in King and Queen sized beds. Additional sleeping accommodations available in three pull out couches and an air mattress. What most guests tell us that they love about the home is that it offers plenty of space for a large group on a private lot in perfect location -- within Flagstaff City limits, but at the base of Mt. Elden on the National Forest. It's the best of both worlds! Some unique features include: - Solar powered electricity for a sustainable, eco-friendly home - Separate from the main home, one of the bedrooms that has a king bed is in a studio suite, 20 feet away. The studio suite has its own kitchen, living area, fireplace and bathroom. This is an ideal space for those in your group that may need a bit of extra privacy; a place for the teens to hang out, the matriarch/patriarch to retire to a bit early, the bride and groom, or for the parents with little ones that rise early. - Meals together are convenient with indoor dining for 18-20 (12 in the dining room, 4 in the living room and 6 in the media room) in the open concept layout. Dining room has a quaint gas fireplace for additional warmth and ambiance. Outdoor seating and dining for 14. - Hiking and biking trails are steps away as the home's one acre property borders the National Forest at the base of Mt. Elden. - A game room, separate from the main home, is equipped with air hockey, mini-hoop game and foosball. Since these games are fun, but noisy, the game room is intentionally situated away from the main part of the home. (We all love our kiddos but a little break from the 'crazy' is welcome on occasion!) - An entertainment/media rooms with a wood-burning stove and French-doors allows for part of the group to take in a movie and play games, leaving the rest of the home available for other gathering activities. - Generous parking accommodations: Driveway parking for 10 vehicles. We had a blast. The place was a perfect set up for our families. We played games and ate like we were starving. Enjoyed cousin time and slept well. The beds were great. That’s always a plus. We would come back again. We even got to see some Javelinas!!! The kids were in Heaven.

Beautiful property! Great amenities. The back yard is part of trails and historical homestead from the 1800th next to the Elden mountain. The cabin had very confortable and clean accommodations for all 16th of us.
Lee Ann is an amazing hostess. Took the time to call us before we arrived. Always available if we had any questions or needs. We give this property and there hostess a 100+. Thank you for helping our family make special memories of our Thanksgiving 2023

This is our 2nd time stayng at this home. It accomodated 14 adults and 2 children with still plenty of room to roam around and not feel crowded. We enjoyed the nice quiet surroundings and the new patio! Great area to sit and relax and play a nice catd game or dominos. Recommend this house for sure!

I planed a trip for my Mom’s birthday who turns 85 with my 8 siblings to see the Grand Canyon because she has never seen it and it was on her bucket list. The house was ok much older than the pictures show clean up all the tubs could have some dressers to put your clothes just small things to make your guest feel at home the yard needs cleaning up we were all pretty cautious about walking back there so we didn’t, TV’s in the guest bedrooms we all had to watch one TV

Well appointed with a nice out side deck to hang out and enjoy the weather.

The stay was good there was a few things that where weird. The grill caught on fire, we ran out of reach bags, no mop and a light bulb on the front of the house just cracked and fell to the ground. Other then that the stay was great the property was beautiful. Watch out for skunks and spiders.

Large home, perfect for family gathering in a beautiful Flagstaff mountains setting. The kitchen was well furnished and the large tables were perfect for meals and games. Plenty of beds so our family could spread out. It is in a great setting, close to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and other places to visit. It served our family well.

This is the perfect place for a quiet get-away. We had my parents, siblings, and all our kids and there was plenty of room for everyone to feel like they had their own space while still being together. The guest house was a hit with the teens that just wanted to...well, be teens. The kids loved the game room. Everyone went on several short hikes right out the back door. Its secluded at the end of the cul-de-sac so its quiet and peaceful. Lee Ann was more than helpful with both adjustments before the stay and communication during. We loved it!

I have so many wonderful things to say about this property. The host was so accommodating and made our intimate wedding at the Grand Canyon so special with close friends/family. The casita was absolutely perfect for a couple friends who had an infant. Space heaters were also located in just about all the rooms for those cold chilly nights. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful house!

We stayed at this property to celebrate Christmas with another family. Everyone had their own space, and I loved having two kitchens to prepare meals. The snow was great, but I would love to come back again to enjoy the outdoor space! We had one small issue with missing a mixer, but the owner came by within a few hours to bring us one. I will definitely stay here again. Many fond memories were made!

This is a great house for a big family. We are 8 y/o to 80 y/o and it worked well for us. The apartment over the garage was lovely for getting some me time. Kitchen is fully stocked and then some. Very quiet location but close to stores and some easy hiking out the backdoor. Lee Ann was quick and kind with communication. Thanks for letting us stay!

The most amazing cabin! So much room for family and friends to be under one roof. The kids loved the game room and just being able to be free on the property. The Wifi was a little spotty but it forced us to unplug and be in the moment! We will definitely book here again and can’t wait!!

My family of ~20 stayed here for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary recently and it was absolutely perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the BBQ grills one nigh too. Great hiking options, really close to good trails. We were expecting the property to be somewhat secluded, but it was in a neighborhood - which worked out GREAT! It feels really secluded, but we didn't have to drive far to make that happen. The kids took over the basement, loved the gameroom. There were tons of spaces for us to eat as a group. We would definitely recommend the space for large family gatherings. The weather was perfect for us in August, we even got a little rain which was nice. Hosts were great, and check in/out was a breeze.

Very large family that came to Flagstaff for our daughters wedding. House is amazing. Every amenity you could need is provided. We had family come in from California, Texas and Louisiana. House is very large with plenty of room to spread out. Host is amazing. Needed to adjust our days and Lee Ann was very accommodating. Extremely good with communication and was very prompt. If you’re coming to Flagstaff for any amount of time definitely give this home a chance.

We were a group of 16 and there was plenty of room for all. The home was beautiful and well stocked with all kitchen needs. Great location very private. Easy drive to Williams , Grand Canyon, Antolope Canyon and Walnut Canyon. Close to all in Flagstaff.
The home is very spacious and comfortable. Lee Ann was a wonderful host and responsive.
This property is highly recommended for a family stay.

This property was large and spacious. Well appointed with all of the necessities for a large family gathering. Plenty of space to gather as a group in common areas as well as have alone time away from the group. The bedrooms were large and accommodating. The bunk room provided a getaway for the teens and young adults to gather and enjoy time together. This home borders on the forest preserve which allowed for easy access to hiking and mountain biking trails. There is so much to explore in Flagstaff and this home made a perfect landing spot to relax and gather between each of our daily outings.

This house really is a beautiful setup for families, and we had a great experience communicating with the owner. Kitchen very well stocked! The reason I can't give this five stars is because of the issue of there not being Central AC in the home. This was not listed on the original listing, and if it was, to be honest, we probably would not have booked the home. We come from Texas, and vacationing in Arizona in July was already a risk, but we knew it was a little cooler in the mountains. We did not even think twice that AC would be included, but under the listing it also said air conditioning in the essentials section. There was nothing about what the actual situation was. There are a few window units throughout this very large home, one in the casita, one in one of the upstairs bedrooms, and I believe one for a common area. We did not have a problem with the common areas staying cool. Our problem was with the bedrooms. They did include some box fans, however, we did not feel like this was enough to keep the rooms from being hot at night. Even though we kept the windows open at night, and followed their recommendations, it was still not as cool as we are used to at night. Since we were traveling with babies and toddlers, we need consistent temperatures in the room. They cannot be covered and uncovered to accommodate the major difference in temperatures from when they first go to bed to the middle of the night when it really cools down a lot with the outside air. We stayed in the master bedroom, and one box fan in a window was not enough to keep us cool. There was a portable air conditioner provided for that room which we used, and even that would not have been enough without the smaller fan that I brought. They told us in an email a couple days before our trip about the air conditioning situation, and we felt a little bit frustrated about that, and even some of my family joked about wanting a refund.
So long story short, is it tolerable? Yes, it is tolerable. Is it comfortable or pleasant? No, it wasn't. We were up multiple times at night sweating, having to check on the babies, cover them more or uncover them. I can understand it not being an issue in the winter time, but in the summertime I think that if you're not going to have Central AC it should be made very clear on the listing. At least I think the owners should put a window unit in every bedroom.
That being said, I still gave it four stars because everything else was great!

Excellent house for large group. Trails right out the back door. We were there for high school cross country running camp. The runners loved putting their hammocks up in the back yard to relax after the runs. Buffalo Park is close for great runs, you can run their on Pipeline trail or take a ten minute drive. Kitchen is excellent, has all you need for making meals for a large group. The porches are excellent place to just relax any time of the day. The Coaching Staff are already wanting me to book this house again for next summer!

Anniversary Trip
For our 50th anniversary we had 16 of our family come and spend 9 days in this beautiful home. We liked the location and it was easy to find our way around Flagstaff. There was plenty of room for all of us, it helped that we had mostly boys so the down stairs took care of their sleeping arrangements. Lee Ann was very helpful in getting us all settled in and taking care of a couple of issues. Overall we enjoyed our visit, the weather was great (a blessing to get out of the valley for awhile) and the outside deck got used a lot with family time. I would highly recommend this home and thought the owners most helpful.
