About this house rental
Please provide the number of and ages of guests in your party, and true nature of your visit. Events/parties/gatherings of any type or size are prohibited. Parking for 3 cars in private drive. On street parking is not an option. Built in 1938 by James Stokely (Stokely Canning Company) and Wilma Dykeman (local historian and writer) to store and sell apples and manufacture apple cider, this historic property has been lovingly restored and undergone a major renovation with all new beautiful modern amenities, while maintaining and complimenting it's unique properties. Apple Cider House at Cross Creek is: 6.2 miles north of Downtown Asheville, 3.7 miles to groceries and gas, 7.3 miles to the gate at Biltmore Estate, 4.5 miles to Grove Park Inn, 5.2 miles to UNC Asheville, 16 miles to Warren Wilson College, 20 miles to Asheville Regional Airport, 83 miles to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, 124 miles to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and 10 minutes to an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. As you enter this warm and welcoming one level home you’re immediately taken by the original restored floors, beams, and windows...so unique! The open floor plan and bright interior with comfortable furnishings and family heirlooms beckon you to settle in. This home boasts; 3 king bedrooms each with private modern en-suite bath with walk in shower, half bath, laundry room, pool table and game area, great room with seating for all and dining area that accommodates 6 plus comfortably. The fully outfitted bright open kitchen invites you to cancel your dinner reservations to stay in. Gather on the back deck which abuts a year round audible creek to enjoy a meal, or sit around the fire table to review the day...so peaceful. After a day of exploring all Asheville and the surrounding area has to offer, sleep soundly on comfy beds with loads of pillows and luxury bedding. So settle in to enjoy the serenity, nature, and everyone's company! You’re just minutes to Downtown Asheville and all the outdoor activities the surrounding area has to offer. The owner provides; 2 bath towels/wash cloth/hand towel per guest, body wash each shower, pump hand soap each sink, 3 rolls of toilet paper and blow dryer in each bathroom, Keurig (assorted coffee pods provided), drip coffee maker (guest provides own ground coffee), sweetener, 2 rolls paper towels, fresh kitchen sponge, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, kitchen towels, blender, 4 slice toaster, crock pot, hand mixer, laundry detergent.

What a wonderful Christmas week we had here at The Apple Cider House.
The house was very well stocked, exceptionally clean, comfortable and cozy. Much larger than the pictures depicted. The owners really made this house welcoming.
Very convenient to groceries, restaurants, downtown Asheville and great hiking trails.
Just can’t say enough. We’ll definitely recommend and return ourselves.

We had a wonderful time at the Apple Cider House. It was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. There was plenty of space to gather over meals, play a pool game, or hang out on the deck by the fire. The bedrooms were great, exactly as the pictures and description described. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Not cheap, but enjoyed every minute! Loved playing pool with the kids (adults!). Very comfortable. Quality all around. (Some nails poking through floors could be a bit dangerous. Tore a sock on one! Good coffee/hot chocolate choices! Would recommend to people with relatives out in the Beaverdam area for sure. Ours live on Elk Mtn. so very convenient for us. Thank you.

This was the perfect house for six long time friends to spend a girls weekend together. The house has three bedrooms, each with a king size bed and full bathrooms. It was decorated nicely with every comfort of home. The deck and fire table were welcoming after a long day of shopping in Asheville. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay just a couple of miles out of downtown. We really loved our stay!!

I book apple cider house for a weekend trip away with my friends and their mothers. The house was beautiful, clean, and in an ideal location. Close to everything in Asheville, while still feeling secluded and private. The only thing I regret is not booking the house for longer! This was truly a 5 star stay all around!

Everything about this property is fabulous! It is spacious and beautifully decorated. We loved coming back to the house to enjoy a game of pool or time around the outdoor gas firepit. The management had excellent communication and left little touches that made it feel like home. Would definitely return!

Our family of adults loved this spacious home with three bedrooms each having king size beds and their own suite baths. The commons area was so open so we were able to visit easily. We loved the outdoor space in the trees with the sound of the babbling brook. So peaceful!

This home is magnificent and the location, ideal! The seamless reservation and check-in process with AVL management set the tone for a perfect weekend. The thoughtfully detailed barn-to-home conversion is very impressive. And, who needs the telly when there is an abundance of wildlife and a babbling brook right outside. Beautifully appointed property with plenty of room to stretch out. Lovely back patio with fire pit and front screened porch with rockers. We found the beds to be very comfy and towels plentiful. The house was spotless when we arrived and instructions very thorough. We hope to stay here again someday.

We had a fantastic long weekend at this house. It’s located in a quiet location but the road is easy to drive on and the house is easy to find.
The interior is cozy, adorably decorated and well appointed. The beds are all very comfortable.
The property managers replied quickly to any questions we had before or during the stay.
Downtown Asheville was an easy 15 minute drive. This was the perfect House for a relaxing weekend in the woods still close to all the amenities of town.

We enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Overall…it was clean, well stocked, comfortable beds etc. I would note that there is no mention of needing to go through a bedroom to be on the back patio and fire pit area. Also…the pictures make it seem that there is an incredible view. The view is of a hillside across the main road. Finally, I’d your wanting seclusion and quiet…this property is a bit noisy with road traffic and general property’s next door being cared for etc.

Our group of eight (four adults and four kids) had a great stay! The house was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable, it was super quiet all day and night, the kitchen was well-stocked, and communication from the owners was easy and clear. We especially loved the fire pit out back and the front porch on a warm afternoon. Though the layout of the house is a bit weird (you have to walk through the upstairs master to get to the third floor bedroom, and through a downstairs bedroom to get to the back porch/yard), it worked for us with our kids. (Might not love it with all adults.) It's about a 10-15 minute drive to town on a very narrow and twisty road, but we enjoyed being a bit off the beaten path and got to see lots of wildlife. We would absolutely stay here again!

This is a nice house tucked away in a private wooded setting. It is VERY clean and neat. It is larger than it looks in the pictures.
The furniture is comfortable. It is an easy 15-20 minute drive to downtown Asheville, also easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We would definitely stay here again.

Two of my (adult) children and I loved our stay! This beautiful house felt sturdy, cozy and welcoming. It was luxurious for the three of us to have our own bedrooms with large beds. Kitchen is well-stocked and easy to use, but there are probably 30 good restaurants within 20 minutes' drive if you don't feel like coooking. Blue Ridge Parkway is also a short drive away (along a wider-than-usual, well-graded gravel road); shopping and parks in Asheville are even closer. Daily black bear sitings kept this city girl indoors except when we had a fire in the firepit (which probably offered little protection but was at least a psychological comfort!); clearly the locals are used to the bears, but I remained a bit nervous. Although there were a few neighbors mowing lawns or running woodworking equipment, this location was quieter than a previous house we rented way out in the mountains southwest of Asheville, which had road noise and sounds of construction. This house is quieter while being close to everything.
Overall: a welcoming, luxurious house in a great location.

Great Stay!
We just returned from a wonderful family getaway and loved staying here - would definitely return! The property was immaculately clean and they provided the perfect amount of accessories. The grounds are beautiful, the house felt so spacious and had great outdoor spaces, and the nearby creek added to relaxation! Communication was always timely and clear and they were incredibly responsive to an issue that came up completely out of their control while there. Just a heads up if someone else is traveling with kids - we had thought that the creek was more accessible to play in with our toddlers, but that was the neighbor’s property (they have since updated the photos to avoid confusion). We probably could have climbed down to the creek if we tried, but it would have been tricky. We still love the property and would absolutely return again!
