About this cottage rental
Nestled in Tybee Island, this attractive cottage for £435 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This is truly a special place to create some great memories. The charm of a vintage cottage by the sea is complemented with a modern kitchen and baths. Restored 1940’s Tybee Island cottage offers three bedrooms and three full baths and two outdoor showers. The open living, dining, and kitchen on the first floor offer a cozy gathering space. The screen porch out front fits perfectly into the idealistic summer at the beach. Outback the in-ground saltwater pool offers the perfect retreat from a day at the beach. Enjoy grilling and dining on the patio and sunbathing on the roof deck accessed by an outdoor spiral stair. In colder seasons you may choose the option to heat the pool. We have a propane pool heater that can be used for a $55 per day fee to heat the pool to 88 degrees when temperatures are 65 degrees or more. Fuel costs require a charge of $75per day during lower temperatures. Use of the solor cover when the pool is not being used is critical in helping keep these rates and maintaining the pool temperature. Please communicate in advance if you want to use this option as an additional payment will be needed. We only have our cottage available through VRBO and their partners. If you happen upon our home on a different rental platform please know it may not be a valid offering. The home is about 1,100 sq ft and maximizes the use of each space. This is truly a cottage home with details including cypress wood walls, pine floors, exposed joist and wood ceilings. The kitchen brings in a modern touch with stainless architectural appliances contrasted by bracketed cabinetry and a farm sink. The shed is stocked with beach chairs and bikes for your use. The driveway can park 3 cars Please note this is a no smoking and no pet property While our cottage can sleep up to 8 people our rates are based on a 6 person occupancy. Guests beyond 6 will have an additional guest fee.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at this property, and it’s fantastic. The owners are quick to respond to questions, the location is perfect to walk to both the beach and restaurants. We utilized the pool every day, and the bikes that are available with the property. The property is very clean, instructions are clear, and the little things, like snacks and coffee available when u arrive are great, especially with a late arrival. We rarely go to the same place twice, but we enjoyed our first visit so much, we not only returned to Tybee, but stayed at the same property. We will definitely be returning to this property

This cute little house is just as listed. Very clean, very well stocked, and just around the corner from our favorite restaurant Sting Ray's and all the shops. Our host was very responsive with communication. We had a great time and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This has got to be the best place to stay on Tybee. It’s been so lovingly restored, keeping the best of the older cottage, with all new, modern appliances. I could gladly spend 6 months here. We were well cared for — concierge service with no visible human!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Tybee Island Cottage. It is obvious that the home is well loved as it has been updated with many beautiful amenities. The property owner was extremely communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was well stocked and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The kids loved the pool! We also loved having shops and restaurants within walking distance. We fell in love with Tybee Island and the cottage and look forward to returning!

This is a well maintained property with so many amenities that we didn’t even expect. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, the pool is gorgeous, and there is even a great laundry room, bikes and beach gear! We loved our stay. Many thanks to our host!!!

We arrived to find the cottage better than expected. The kids loved having the pool (which we heated), they were in it multiple times a day. The outdoor showers were great to get the kids rinsed off. Actually the fact that there are 3 showers inside meant everyone could get ready for dinner or outings quickly! The walk to the beach is less than 10 minutes. The bikes were great to ride to the south beach access to watch the sunset (but too large for our almost 9-year old), we used them to go to the IGA to get small grocery items a couple times too.
We cook a lot, so our main grocery runs we’re to Publix and Kroger off island (20 min away). The kitchen was very well appointed. The appliances are higher end (whisper quiet dishwasher, touchscreen oven). The cookware is nice, we used the grill almost daily. There are plenty of dishes (but more covered bowls would be nice, we left a few plastic ones with lids behind). The laundry room is separate from the house, the pool towels are nice. We could have used more bathroom bath mats, but there were plenty of towels. The pillows are ready for replacement. But seriously, that’s the only thing I would change about the whole place. The artwork is beautiful and tasteful. The dining table and outdoor patio tables are large. There is so much space in such a small place, it’s kind of amazing. The reviews and photos just don’t do it justice. I would definitely come back!!

We stayed for 2 weeks and it was a great getaway. Check-in was easy! The home is well-appointed and very clean. All of the towels and bedding are high quality. A nice welcome basket greeted us on arrival with snacks and bottled water. It has updated TVs, Good cable service, a Sonos stereo system & good WiFi.
The kitchen is well-equipped and the appliances are newer and up-to-date. The under-counter ice maker was convenient and we never had to go "get ice".
We enjoyed the bikes for getting around the island. It had new chairs and an umbrella for our days at the beach. The pool is very nice and the area around it is fenced in and private so it feels like your own retreat.
Our hosts were very good at communicating both before and during our stay and were very accommodating. They sincerely want you to have a positive experience while you are staying there.
The location is within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, and several restaurants and bars.

We wanted to escape the chilly blizzards of the Northeast, so we decided to visit Tybee Island. It was our first time in the area, and it was perfect for our family of five. The house was clean and bright, with beautiful pine hardwood floors. The neighborhood was quiet, with plenty of people walking their dogs and biking. We took advantage of the available bikes at the house. We barely used our car during our visit except when we drove to Savannah to explore. We rented smaller bikes for our younger kids at Fat Tire (a great place!) because the cruisers were too big for them. We biked all day to the beach, to the lighthouse and marine science center, and even to the IGA for some provisions. The house is within walking distance of the beach and several restaurants. My oldest child and I would take a jog in the morning to see the sunrise and then grab a little bite to eat at Mi Vida. That all sounds review-y, but it really was great!
So, as a whole, I would highly recommend this house and the area. The positive reviews are spot-on. The owners are lovely and very quick to respond to any issues. For example, the pool heater was acting up, and they had people working on it. We visited during the off-season, so I'm not sure how crazy Tybee gets during the height of the season. For us, the cozy cottage, the kind GA personalities, and the warmer-than-average-temps made for an amazing winter getaway.

We LOVED this home! From the moment we walked in, it felt like we have been there many times. The backyard with the pool was wonderful, the bikes included gave our older kids a little freedom to ride around the neighborhood. Walking distance to so many great restaurants and the beach. Can’t say enough good things, this house was perfect!

We came to Tybee for our Fall Break and this property was perfect for our family and friends. Easy access to the beach, restaurants and shops. The house is so well designed and comfortable. This cottage is just so cute!! Well appointed kitchen with all of the necessary items to cook at home. The pool area was wonderful, we used everyday. This is a short walk to the beach, cottage stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas and a wagon!!! We spent time on the beach and the inlet, great walks in the mornings and evenings on the front porch. Very clean cottage, loved having the extra refrigerator for beverages. Recommend Ma Vida for organic breakfast and sandwiches and Sundae Cafe for dinner.

This was our first visit to Tybee. Definitely will not be our last. This cottage was absolutely perfect! Every space of this home is used perfectly to capacity. Not over crowded and the furniture suites it well!
The home is equipped with anything you could possibly need and all items are in great condition. The beach items are in great shape and well taken care of. We LOVED the ice machine!!! The welcome basket on the counter was a nice surprise! Honestly the owners thought of everything to make it just like home!
Natalie and Eric were there when we arrived refilling the gas grill and making sure the house was in order. Wonderful people with the perfect Tybee rental!

Couldn’t Have Been Better!
Absolutely so happy with this vacation rental. The house was so thoughtfully designed and incredibly well stocked. Everything was exceedingly clean when we arrived and the house had everything we needed to be comfortable and to enjoy our week at Tybee, including an excellent beach cart, well-cared-for bikes, and plenty of beach chairs. We loved the outdoor spaces and spent so much time poolside (and of course in the pool as well). The front porch was perfect for late afternoon naps and dinner al fresco. The outdoor shower was wonderful and having the laundry area adjacent to it was perfect. The location was ideal, as the houses adjacent to the property were quiet and the road was so calm we felt very confident riding to and from the beach with the kids on bikes. The owner communicated with us about everything we needed to know and made himself available for questions if we had any. I really have not a single complaint. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Amazing place
We truly enjoyed our stay. A short walk from the property, and we were on the beach. If we didn't want to go to the beach, we had the pool that had some shade almost all day. The house had everything we needed and more. We would happily stay again. Best place we've stayed in years.

This property is not huge, but just perfect for my husband and I with our 2 college aged kids. It is beautifully designed with a gorgeous kitchen and ALL of the amenities/appliances you might need. We enjoyed staying in the separate suite that has access from the patio area. We really appreciated the 4 bikes and beach chairs, and plenty of towels. Great location in a cute neighborhood. Unfortunately the pool heater was broken so we were not able to use the pool for part of the week, but the owner was very responsive and did his best to get it working ASAP.

This cottage was so great for our family trip to Tybee! It’s location is perfect for doing all the things, yet finding quiet when needed. The pool on the property is great too! If you want the charm of the old south beach life, this is it!

This cute cottage was built in 1940, so it comes with its quirks and dimensions. It really is an adorable place and my kids were excited to stay in a "real cottage".
We unfortunately experienced a lot of hiccups on our trip, a comedy of errors, so I didn't get to explore the cottage or the island much. I was sick for several days, the weather turned cold, the pool heater stopped working, the sink disposal was broken for a few days, the city didn't pick up the very full garbage the entire time we were there, and there was one piece missing from the jigsaw puzzle. 😆
The great news is that the property owner is VERY RESPONSIVE. He had the sink disposal fixed and was able to refund part of our pool deposit.
We appreciated the cards and board games when we were stuck inside. The bikes available were a welcome benefit and my husband and kids got to bike around Tybee on several days.
If you come here, be aware that WiFi and cell reception can be spotty at times on the island.
The recommendations I would make to this property are:
1) add a shower caddy for the upstairs shower so we have a place for our soaps and shampoos.
2) paint the ceilings (and maybe the walls) in the upstairs bedrooms a lighter color, similar to the rest of the property. Because I was sick, I got to spend a lot of time in bed and it wasn't long before the rooms felt dark and a bit cramped.
I do realize it was an odd week with random things malfunctioning, but the owner was so responsive in making things right, our family would happily return to this cottage if it was available on a future trip.

Exceeded our high expectations
Looking at the previous reviews, we had high expectations of our stay, and both the property, the location and owners responsiveness, exceeded our expectations.
The property was in great condition, and the little things like basket of snacks and water, was great with our late arrival after a long drive. There was plenty of everyday use items like soap, toilet paper, paper towel, coffee fitlers, etc...so you never felt nickel and dimed, you felt like it was a 1st class property.
We loved the pool, it was great to just chill out in the afternoon and relax in the water. Well worth the small fee to have the pool heated. Having things like the beach chairs and bikes was extremely helpful (and thoughtful).
The location was fantastic, with very short walk to the beach, and to numerous restaurants. We enjoyed walking to both Sunrise and Breakfast Club for breakfast, and the ease of a quick walk for dinner.
Also, very impressed with the responsiveness of the owner. Whether it was pre-trip, or questions during the trip, we felt like we got very quick responses.
If we come back to Tybee, we would definitely stay at the same property.

This property is exactly as advertised. It’s cute, clean, has all the amenities you could want. We had an amazing time on vacation. The cottage is within walking distance to the beach and to restaurants. Being off season it was very quiet on Tybee but that was fine with us. We all needed a relaxing vacation. Savannah is gorgeous and full of fun things to do.
Being a party of five with an infant created a little predicament as far as sleeping arrangements went. The only bedroom that could accommodate a pack and play was the room with twin beds. But we made do.
Would definitely stay here again!

This Tybee Beach cottage was everything we hoped it would be and more. Our grown family and grandchildren came together for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and a 3 yr old grandson birthday. The vintage cottage is marvelously upgraded with all the amenities you could possibly want for a beach home. We definitely would visit again. It is excellent.

Our group of 5 people in their 50s have rented many houses through VRBO and we all agreed this is one of the best. It had everything you could ask for. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. They even provide you snacks, bottle water, coffee pretzels and even spaghetti and sauce. The house was beyond clean. The upstairs deck and pool were great. Also provided were beach chairs and bikes which would cost you a lot of money if you had to rent them each day. There was even a cart to pull the chairs to the beach which is two blocks away, Tybee has great restaurants such as A.J.'s dockside, the Crab Shack and North Beach Grill all with great views and excellent service. We can't say enough good things about this house and Tybee.
