Breakfast choice excellent. Restaurant food good, staff very attentive Peaceful location yet close to amenities.

Would have enjoyed watching birds on feeding at breakfast but feeders were not filled.

My mother’s room was cold once the heating went off. She couldn’t find a rug or blanket. My bathroom was also rather cold.

it was very comfortable and warm. The evening meal we had was excellent and the staff were great. I wasn’t well but felt I was looked after particularly by the lady on breakfast duty who was born in Stockport coincidentally.

The room was a bit on the small size especially as we had 2 medium sized suitcases.

The establishment was exceptionally clean. I could not fault house keeping it was immaculate. Breakfast was a oven baked fry up? It was pleasant however.

On arrival we were asked to take our bags back to the car and wait for 15 mins as we arrived at 2.45 instead of 3 o'clock. Once checked in the room key could not be found so we were. Asked to leave our belongings in the unlocked room until the keys were sourced. We were asked if we were going out until this was resolved. I asked for another room and was told no unfortunately, with no hesitation even though other guests had not checked in yet. I also emailed the property to ask for a room with a bath instead of a shower due to health reasons and was not emailed back until it was to late to cancel on the day of arrival. After reading the ratings and reviews I expected much more. Also we cancelled dinner as the person booking us in suggested there were lots of places to eat elsewhere. It was not the cosy self contained stay we expected. For £114, it was decidedly average with no atmosphere at all. We only seen another soul at breakfast. I tried to phone several times to check the bath situation but the telephone was never answered and message was not returned. This place may be a different place during peak season but it was definetly not the place described in the reviews. We would not recommend, the room showed badly hung wallpaper and tired soft furnishings. This accomodation was not unpleasant but certainly did not reflect the cost.

Was able to book last minute and was a comfortable bed. Staff were pleasant and accommodating.

There was loud music over the evening and morning which disrupted our sleep. Also it was very uncomfortable when a cleaner opened the door to our room before check out (about 9-9:30 in the morning). It was far too early as it was prior to a check out time of 10:30 and we were still in the midst of waking up and getting ready after our long drive the day prior. There was no sign in our room that we could see to show do not disturb.

The bed was far too small for two people so 2 nights there was pretty uncomfortable, plus at the price per night I would have expected more comfort in that department. Our curtains were not blackout curtains and they were hanging off the rail slightly so light was streaming in in the morning. Plus, the walls were so thin we could hear people having sex through the night next door!

Tried repeatedly to explain could no longer make trip - still got messages about our arrival and a phone call which rung off when I answered.

Callander is a lovely place and the room itself was nice enough.

Breakfast was poor with very limited vegan options and badly or uncooked breakfast items. Portions were small. There was no running water when we arrived and, although this was rectified in a few hours, this was not communicated at all in advance.
