Incredible secluded cabin featuring amazing forest views off of the back deck!
About this cabin rental
Welcome to one of the most well-stocked cabins in the Hocking Hills, where you can enjoy seclusion and tranquility in a spotlessly clean cabin nestled on a 42-acre ridgetop surrounded by epic forest scenery! This 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin boasts a walkout basement, two amazing decks, and a fully-equipped kitchen that will make your travels stress-free. As you approach the cabin from below, following an old logging road through the woods, you'll be greeted by an excellent seating space on the front deck. This is a great spot to get acquainted with the property before entering the cabin, where you'll find a charming open-concept living room, a well-appointed kitchen, and a cozy dining area. The wall coverings were milled from local salvaged timber, giving the cabin a unique character. The rich Red Oak floors were also sourced from the area. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need, including coffee, olive oil, salt and pepper, paper towels, cookware, plates, bowls, utensils, and more. You can grill out on the large grill or use the full-size range to whip up a delicious meal. The living area features ample seating around a beautiful gas fireplace, which provides great ambiance and radiant heat with the flick of a switch! On the same floor, you’ll find two spacious yet cozy bedrooms, both featuring large windows with queen-sized luxury memory foam mattresses, located on the same floor as a lovely full bathroom. Step out onto the elevated back deck and relax with tranquil views of the forest below. The ceiling fans on both decks make them great outdoor living spaces that stay comfortable even on the hottest days! Heading downstairs to the walkout basement, you'll find a spacious rec room with a big-screen Roku smart TV. YouTube TV is available for your enjoyment, and you're welcome to log in to your own streaming services as well. Two more bedrooms with forest views are down the hall, one with a queen bed and the other with a full/twin bunk bed - ideal for larger groups or kids! The back porch provides additional outdoor space and is a nice quiet nook to relax and enjoy the sounds and sights of the forest while working the grill. When the sun sets, head around back and enjoy the night while sitting around the fire pit with your group. The property itself is 42 acres and is yours to explore! There are a few old logging roads that are great for hiking, but keep in mind that they aren't currently maintained, so long pants are highly recommended. While there is one other cabin (listing #7713482) within eyeshot on the property, it is 500+ feet away, so you're about as secluded as it gets! Although the cabin is secluded, it's less than 25 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park, which offers a range of outdoor activities for visitors. Tar Hollow is also nearby and has a public swimming lake. The last mile of the road is gravel, but it's worth it! Standard sedans are usually fine as long as you drive slowly and strategically. Sporty low-clearance vehicles should be avoided. All-wheel drive is recommended in the winter months in case there is snow on the ground. The internet is completely free of charge and is a high-speed low latency Starlink connection, making it easy to stream video or do video calling. We keep our base rate on the low end and charge additional guest fees based on the number in your group. There are no guest fees for the first two guests. Please be honest about the number in your group, as we reserve the right to retain the damage deposit if we find that more beds and/or towels were used than the number of guests specified. We also highly recommend that you purchase your own travel insurance in case of the need to cancel due to a positive COVID case in your group. Finally, please take note that we are not responsible for items left behind. Any items that are requested to be mailed back will cost a $100 fee plus the cost of shipping. Hunting is only allowed if both cabins on the property are rented at the same time (#7713482 and #1781220). A $250/day fee applies. We look forward to having you stay with us and hope you enjoy your time in the Hocking Hills! Hocking County Rental Registration No. 00003

The cabin was exactly as described and was just perfect for a long weekend getaway with the family. We enjoyed outdoor campfires, star gazing, amazing 360° views, hiking, hot tubbing, meals and games around the large kitchen table and memories that will last forever:-)

This place was exactly what we were looking for! We were looking for a secluded, family getaway over the holiday break. The family requests: fireplace, outdoor fire pit, hot tub, and something to do outdoors. This cabin hit all the marks! The cabin also had ample fridge space and the kitchen had almost every supply you might need.
This was our first time in Hocking County and it was beautiful. A couple tips….
*Follow the directions provided, not google/apple maps. Owners did a great job of providing accurate directions
*The cabin is quite a bit off the main road, decently paved and even gravel roads/driveway were decent, our AWD Honda did great!
* Either bring food or plan extra time to hit the grocery bc it was about 30 min away
*If you are headed to a restaurant, you might want to call to make sure they are open. We were 0 for 3 on open restaurants for dinner one night because we didn’t want fast food.
There was a little hiccup at the beginning of our stay, but the owner was quick to prove a solution.
We would stay again!

It was very clean and very comfortable. It is quiet and feels very secluded but is no more than 20 minutes from any of the attractions of Hocking Hills. The owners communication was great. Especially regarding road conditions in the winter, which is when we visited. Our jeep did fine but a sedan or small car could have trouble during the winter.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The kitchen was fully stocked, allowing us to bake and cook as a family. It was an easy drive to Hocking Hills and Tar Hallow. The communication with Greg was easy and transparent.

A couple of my friends and i stayed here for new years. it was a lot of space, very secluded. the beds were very comfy. The hot tub could’ve used a little more chemicals the water was a little green but still usable. Overall very good stay!

This was the perfect family getaway! The cabin was cozy. The hot tub was private and the woods was breathtaking. We can’t wait to go back!

I didn’t think it possible to be this secluded in Ohio, but this fit the bill. Everything was as advertised. It was a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

We loved the cabin and ability to bring our dogs. We enjoyed walking around the property and the quiet area.

We loved the cabin and it's beautiful location, but found it lacking in provisions. There were no warm blankets on the beds and we ended up sleeping with coats over us. There were not enough spoons for the 7 of us.
We found cough drops under one bed and an empty grocery bag under another.
The dishwaher was not working properly and at least one of the games was missing too many parts to play.

The cabin was beautiful, and it was very well stocked. We loved the location, all had a great time!!

Owners were responsive to all inquiries prior to and during the stay.

We had an excellent time exploring Hocking Hills and spending time at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was so clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. This amazing, secluded cabin is exactly what we needed for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the owners and Guest Experience Coordinator for all of the information and communication during our stay.

Pictures do not do this property justice. It was way more beautiful.
Nothing but good to say.

We had an amazing time in Hocking Hills at this beautiful property with our family! We loved watching falling stars out by the fire pit (Other guests: please stop trying to chop down the live trees!! There are plenty of dead branches to use - no need to hack at the beautiful, live trees surrounding the fire pit.) The kitchen was VERY well-stocked, lots of fun places out on the decks with amazing views, and a great DVD & board game selection!

We had a great time with our family in this beautiful cabin. We are frequent renters of rural cabins and I’ve never seen a cabin so clean and spotless! The owners were amazing with their cleanliness and we made some great memories to last a lifetime! We loved just taking our dogs on walks on the road. Hardly needed to go to trails as it had it all. We were nervous reading the road description but it wasn’t bad at all! I’m a grandma and had no issues getting us there. Would love to stay again! Cannot give a good enough rating.

We had a wonderful time...Hocking Hills and the cabin were amazing and everything about it exceeded our expectations. The communication between Greg (owner) and Marianne (guest coordinator) was excellent.

This cabin was ideal for us. We wanted a secluded place without excess noise and not close to a road, and it fit the bill really well. Everything is in good working condition; the yard is nice; the beds are comfortable; and it's clean. They even had a baby gate that we used to keep our dogs on the upper floor.
Thank you for sharing your lovely place with us!

This was a beautiful cabin and we had a great weekend. I gave the location 4 stars only because the road getting to the cabin was unpleasant to drive on, but we were warned about that ahead of time. It was very private, had a great view of the woods and I really enjoyed being able to takesome of our meals on the back deck.

Listing was spot on. Lots of communicating from host and team. Secluded very little cell service. Slow internet but that's a win for me. Usually between 2gb-8gb kept the kids from being stuck to the phones/tablets streaming etc

Had great time with family ! We had 4 adults and a 3yr old and 4 months old girls . Plus dog ! Plenty of room ! Porch was great for gathering for dinner ! A plus was the cabin about one and a half football fields away that parents and grandma stayed , made get together a nice walk thru path away ! So quite and beautiful scenery! 10 out of 10 rating for us for sure!

This property is very clean and very home like. It’s very well maintained and has a fully stocked kitchen with satellite tv. Me and my son enjoyed the quiet getaway and will absolutely come back here. The only tiny issue is some things to do are a bit further away.

The property was beautiful, private, and peaceful! We enjoyed all of the amenities provided!

Nice place, great location. Only thing we didn't like was tub/ shower. High sides to step in and floor was a little slippery, and the closets were not usable. One was locked. The other full of towels and bedding. But there were places th hang stuff up. Overall a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would do it again.

We really enjoyed our stay in the woods. Very quiet and relaxing.
Pay attention to the driving directions! The roads get a little crazy.
The Ridge Inn restaurant in Laurelville was such a delight! Make time to eat there.
When youre planning your day, put all the stops in your GPS BEFORE you leave wifi! You'll get stuck at Ash Cave with no service and have to remember how to get back :) But they do have a lot of signage for the national parks.
If you're bringing young kids, a few things to note. We had our 7, 4 & 1.5 year old.
There are no baby gates. We ended up going to walmart to buy one for the stairs. And we put our large cooler and stroller in front of the patio stairs. Its also all wood inside so sound travels easily. Bring a sound machine.

This place is a real getaway! Definitely follow the directions they provide, gps won’t take you the best route. The cabin was great for our family. The bedrooms are a bit tight but we spent most of our time enjoying the beautiful back deck. Very easy access to hiking in the Hocking Hills State Park and exploring Athens was a short drive.

Cabin was clean and spacious.
Owner was very quick to respond to an issue we had. Overall great stay!

The cabin is lovely, the setting is very rustic. Definitely need 4wd to get to the cabin, but it didn't keep us from heading to hocking hills multiple days. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio for most of our meals. The beds were all fine, a bit on the firm side. The kitchen table is unuseable in our opinion. It's raised in the middle and slants down on the sides, needs replaced. So plan to eat meals outside! Perfect setup for our family visiting hocking hills! Plenty of space outside to play and relax. The owners were very friendly and communicated often.

This was one of the best stocked homes I've ever stayed in and we stay in a lot of rentals. It's in a beautiful location but getting in and out is very tricky so bring everything you will need for your entire stay. The beds were very comfortable and we spent the entire weekend out on the deck, which faces the woods - it was very relaxing. Be sure to bring bug spray!

Wonderful property, just as described in the listing, if not better. 10 out of 10 would stay again thank you for the wonderful stay! The hosts were incredibly attentive and extremely helpful when we were grilling for dinner and ran out of propane I can't thank them enough for how attentive they were it was just a wonderful experience overall.

Overall, just as pictured. on the website. Greg was very responsive and answered all our questions. He also provided instructions on how to access the property, because it seemed rather complicated but actually wasn't hard to get up to it.

My youngest Son and I stayed here as a base camp for hiking in Hocking Hills. The house was updated nicely and had everything we needed. The firepit was great and the setting was very relaxing. Being a bit adventurous myself I enjoyed the drive from the main road up to the house. We drove a Honda CRV which had ZERO problems navigating the Route up the winding road (part gravel). The drive to Old Man's Cave was roughly 25 minutes and was a breeze.
Working with the owners was SUPER easy and they were very professional.
Sitting on the porch this AM (with our Australian Shepard) drinking coffee and listening to the various birds was peaceful as you could imagine.
I would recommend this rental if you want to be off the beaten path, but close to the attractions of the area.
Well done!
