From the moment you walk in with soft lighting and music playing you feel so welcomed. The owners pay such attention to details that make you feel comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is on-site and then some. This place is a gem!

Could not love this place more. The place is beautiful, the property is great for walks. Clean, lovely fireplace. Fun scavenger hunt, lots of space for family meals and games. Very responsive hosts. We had everything we needed and more. Lots of extra touches. They have thought of everything to make your stay delightful!

We had a great time. The kids made good use of the golf carts and the trails. Our weather was good and we love the setting of it overall. Kitchen was well equipped and the whole lodge was immaculate. Thanks John and Sandra for another great visit.

They have thought of everything all you need to do is show up. It being a former Bed and Breakfast makes it a perfect set up for multiple couple or families. It is clean, spacious and full of stuff to do.
We will definitely be going back.

Woodlands is unique. Lots of land with no neighbors. We had fun with the golf carts ans paddle boats. The lodge is beautiful and has everything. Host is very helpful.
It also offers several bird feeders from hummingbirds to woodpeckers. Swans are on the Beaver Pond.
Danbury is a nice town only a couple miles down the road.
Gandy Dancer Trail is easy and scenic.
Amelia's for breakfast and Wild Water / Salty Steer for dinner.
The best attraction is the fort near Yellow Lake. A must do for sure.

The review for our second stay will be basically the same as the first one because John and Sandy along with their great housekeeping and maintenance staff keep the property in pristine condition.
Woodland Trails Lodge is an exceptional home situated in a beautiful wooded setting. The moment we walked into the Lodge comfort engulfed us. It is understandable how John and Sandy had a successful B & B for many years! Their attention to detail and providing the simple comforts of home are everywhere.
The screened in porch was the favorite breezy, bug-fee area for playing cards and enjoying a late afternoon cocktail.
Sandra’s kitchen was amazing!! Loved the stove top (even though I am a devoted to cooking with gas), the warming oven and two dishwashers! It was fun to have such a nice variety of dishes.
The entire property is a nature wonderland! The variety of birds was awesome. The binoculars and bird books on hand were appreciated and used frequently. Watching the deer and wild turkeys each morning and at dusk was enjoyable.
We wanted a quiet place for a relaxing week and we got it and more at the Lodge. Thank you, John and Sandy, for sharing your magnificent home

The house is beautiful, clean, and has every amenity you would ever need. The property is so peaceful, and filled with birds, deer, and small creatures. We all had a wonderful vacation with many happy memories.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodland Trails Lodge! The property is absolutely beautiful, set in the woods with a beautiful lake in the back. Since it was previously a luxury B&B, the amenities are superb; en suite bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, a gorgeous great room, exceptional kitchen and dining area. One of my very favorite vacation rentals, ever.
So many thoughtful touches from our hosts: the golf carts for exploring the property (130 acres), the delightful paddle boats, the complimentary wine and chocolates. But the standout for us was the truly amazing bird feeders. If you enjoy watching birds at multiple feeding stations from a comfy chair, through a 2+ story picture window, this is the place for you!
Communication with our hosts was flawless. Highly recommended, we're going back for sure.

I travelled with friends to celebrate a bride-to-be. The home has so many places to gather or to just have time alone. The surroundings are beautiful and there was a ton of wildlife to enjoy. Landscaping is amazing! Highly recommend for any groups or families.

This was our second stay for our extended family and we loved it! The house is so accommodating for a large family with the large frig/freezer, huge dining area and lots of comfortable seating for everyone. The outdoors has much to offer with golf carts, paddle boats and other outdoor activities. It’s quite a gem!

This is our second time staying here. We had a lovely 3 night stay and this time was even better then the last time, if that’s even possible! The weather was so nice we were able to sit outside by the fire pit and enjoy a beautiful evening listening to the frogs. We took advantage of the trails and rode our bikes and golf carts. We saw a bear, plenty of dears and birds. Of course the cabin was great also, plenty of space for everyone (there were 8 of us) to gather together or have their own space. We had an amazing time with our family and friends!! Thanks, R&J S.

But this resort had everything for us to do from board games, irish pool, paddle boating, bike riding and even a golf cart to travel the trails. The nature out there was amazing we seen a bear dear and birds with binoculars that the left for us to use

We spent a long weekend with our family, including spouses & children, and this space was perfect. So much elbow room for everyone to have their own luxurious space, with fantastic shared spaces for games, laughs, book reading, wildlife watching, and relaxing. The stone fireplace is beautiful, and we pretty much had a fire crackling the entire time. The property is gorgeous in every way. It is extremely well equipped, and there was not one thing we wished we had brought along or was missing. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We chose the lodge to stay for our annual friends holiday celebration. We loved the layout of the building, room amenities, and ability to walk/hike the numerous trails around the lodge. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment perfect for making meals and celebrating together.

I rented this place to host our company Christmas party. It was beautifully decorated and accommodated everyone. We hired a caterer who was able to prepare everything on site in the amazing and fully equipped kitchen. Everything was perfect. There was even a comment that it felt like we were in a Hallmark Christmas movie. So perfect for this particular gathering.

The perfect setup for the perfect trip! My friends and I have stayed at this cabin a couple of times now and love the secluded location as well as the cabin. It is a great setup for families and couples as most of the rooms have their own bathrooms. In addition, there is plenty of space and the cabin is outfitted with everything you will need. We will be back!

Perfect for our adult group of 8 ages 22-83. Wonderful over the top of available appliances, amenities, ambiance, views, space, hospitality, and extra touches that made our four night stay special. Ultra clean as well!

This was our second consecutive stay and it was as wonderful as the first. The photos accurately show the beauty of the home but beyond that, the attention to the details of hospitality are phenomenal -- complementary wine, sparkling water, coffee pods, immaculately clean accommodations, sparkling clean towels, well-labeled cupboards, and on and on. The hosts clearly are committed to creating a wonderful experience for their guests.

My wife and I have stayed at Woodland Trails multiple times when it was a Bed and Breakfast and it never disappointed us. I am glad to say this continues now that they renting the entire lodge and cabin. The lodge and grounds were immaculate, the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need and the views were spectacular. We all can't wait to return next year. Thanks John and Sandra

This was our second of many stays to come at this property. My entire family has the most incredible time each year. From riding the trails, to biking the trails, to paddle boat races and bonfires. There is something for everyone all the time. The kitchen has all the must haves. We can’t wait to return again & again & again!

Because our family is spread out geographically, our occasional gatherings are really important to us.
From the moment we arrived we loved how well prepared everything was, the spaciousness of the home, and how much there was to do on the property.
What a delightful and memorable time together - thanks for helping make it possible.

We stayed at the property for a girls weekend and we were not disappointed. Actually the pictures do not do the lodge justice. It is much much nicer when you see it in person. It's actually breathtaking and what was so nice about it was the little touches such as the classical music when we arrived and the bottles of wine, and even the Tupperware dishes that we could use to bring home our extra food at the end of our stay. We had more than enough room for everyone and the refrigerator. Well, you'll just have to see it yourself. It's amazing!. We will for sure be back. Everything was clean and ready to go when we got there. Thank you again for an amazing stay. We will be back next year

This is an absolutely FABULOUS property! The attention to detail from thee bug spray in the golf carts to binoculars available in each room and everything in between is just a fraction of what makes this place so incredible. If you want to see birds, turkeys, and deer each day, this is the place! They make daily visits to the feeders in the yard. If you want to see grouse, trumpeter swans, beaver, and more of the above, then the 12 miles of trails on the property are for you. You just cannot go wrong! Believe it or not, but the photos do not capture how beautiful each room is nor how wonderfully solid and quiet the house was built. This former bed and breakfast will knock your socks off!!!

I can sum up this place in one word - WOW! From the moment we walked pulled into the drive to the moment we left, we kept saying, "wow". The property is as good as the pictures, if not better. We enjoyed the trails (although a bit buggy), the golf carts, paddle boats, night fires, nearby State Park and beach. We were a large group of 10 and this house allowed for space for everyone! We were all adults ranging in age from 20 to 58, and this property had something for everyone. We are planning to come back and stay longer!
