Everything was great! Very well stocked kitchen! Lots of games and books. Loved sitting by the fireplace. Has a pool table, arcade games, and a tennis table!! Great for all ages. It also has a sauna that we enjoyed. Plenty of towels, and blankets. Would love to come back.

We had an amazing experience at this VRBO! The location is stunning. The property is beautiful. The owners are phenomenal to work with! I would highly recommend this property.
5.0
Nestled in a serene location with breathtaking views, this VRBO rental is a haven of tranquility by Lake Superior. The sounds of the waves create an enchanting backdrop, turning us all into eager nature explorers. The sandy beach and rocky shores are a nature enthusiast’s dream. The property, featuring two comfortable houses, caters to both relaxation and entertainment, with a basement filled with games, ping-pong, pool, and classic arcade machines that kept my family endlessly amused.
While everything was delightful, a note for future guests: consider bringing your own toiletries and spices, as these personal touches are sparse. A suggestion for the host would be to enhance the welcoming experience with a small basket of essentials and a well-stocked spice rack. Additionally, an upgrade to the Wi-Fi could enhance connectivity for those who wish it. Despite a few spots needing attention, the property’s vastness makes these minor and does not detract from the overall splendid experience. This rental is a true gem for those looking to immerse themselves in nature without forgoing comfort.

We had a great stay. Only drawback was a lot of available features were not working or missing.

Beautiful home and area. House was as described and has everything you need. Steps away from Lake Superior. We enjoyed our time on the beach

We had an early family Christmas at the house. There is lots of room, activities for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked. Communication with the owners was great and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here

This is our second time staying at this South Range, WI property and it couldn’t have been nicer for our family. It was difficult to find a large enough place for our family of 15, ranging in age from 5 months to 68 years. We had plenty of private sleeping spaces and large areas to gather together. The kitchen was all in working order for us to prepare our feast. Kris’ hospitality was great - he was available by messaging and by phone to answer questions prior to our arrival.
AND, of course, the ever powerful Lake Superior was an easy short walk from the home. We could hear the waves rolling in at night!
Thanks for a great together time in your Timber Frame home on the south shore of Lake Superior!

He had a blast with a group of 17 friends here. Between playing yard games, cozying up inside, and building a little beach fire, this vrbo left our group with a lifetime of memories!

Spacious house for a large family, 5 children and spouses with children of their own, age range of family group is 1 month to 74 years old. Games, campfires, and lake time happily occupied everyone with space for quiet times when desired.

We all had a wonderful time. The house was just perfect for our group of 19. There was plenty of room. The house was very clean and they were plenty of supplies( towels, kitchen utensils and games). We liked the little beach area and the yard was perfect for yard games. We enjoyed our nightly visit of deer. It was about 20 minutes from Dulth so we went into Dulth a couple of days. We went to see Split Rock Lighthouse, Black Beach, Lift Bridge and Amicon park. We loved them all!! Kris was very easy to work with and he answered any questions I had. Thanks for sharing your home with us.❤️

Nice house very quiet. few issued with water pressure and showers otherwise good.

Great stay at the home with plenty of room for our 4 families totalling 14. We were able to swim in the cool lake and then hop in the sauna to warm up. Was also the closest large home we could find in proximity to Duluth, Meyers beach and Bayfield. Our teens also spent the evening in the game room while the whole family used the spacious common areas.

My daughter’s wedding was at The Grainery at Lakeview Farm and she wanted a place to stay that was close but even better, big enough for the entire wedding party and parents to stay. This place was perfect! We had 20 people stay but everyone had plenty of room. Some sat around the fire, some played board games, while others just sat at the big table and chatted. Plenty of space to sit down and eat our meals. The beds were surprisingly comfortable too! We all expected the typical cheap mattresses of rental units but the owner obviously appreciates the value of a good night sleep. It made our stay all the more enjoyable. The beach access was fun. It’s not really a swim beach but being familiar with Lake Superior and the unpredictable water levels, plus the northerly location, we weren’t expecting it to be. Just a little way down the road is where the Amnicon River flows into Lake Superior, which is super cool. Kris was a great communicator and handled my questions with patience. We are already planning some way to get a big family reunion up here because we want to come back! Thanks Kris and family for sharing your place with us!

The home provided a beautiful place for family and friends to gather during a busy week.
We were surprised by no shower in upstairs bathroom, but we made it work for the elderly guests we had.
The garhouse was wonderful space for my son’s family to stay.

We stayed in this beautiful rustic house & spent time with family. We enjoyed our time spent here.

While there were a few challenges during our stay (due to a broken dishwasher and some water issues), the owner was great at communication and that made it much better. He got the water situation remedied asap and had tips to help in the meantime. The property is very neat. The beach was fun to walk around on and look for rocks and sea glass (thanks to the owner for the tip to look for sea glass!) - the kids loved it!

Our group of adults, teens, preschoolers & infants thoroughly enjoyed our vacation! The eating area was spread out and the bench seating on one table was particularly flexible for our kiddos who like to sit close. The place was very clean and the setting was peaceful. The house was roomy & comfortable for our group!

My rugby team rents a cabin each year for a weekend retreat. This was our first time renting this cabin and it was amazing. The space comfortably accommodated our large group. The property is beautiful even in winter I imagine it would be amazing in summer right on the lake. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions and made the check in and check out a breeze. Highly recommend this rental!

The house was perfect for our family. Nice convenient master for the grandparents with limited mobility, lower floor bedroom and game room was perfect for the teens and the rest of us had perfect accommodations too. We played games and enjoyed exploring the lake.

This place was great! The only down fall I would say is the fact that the place was 30 mins away from Duluth lol but aside from that it was awesome! Everything we said we might need to go to the store to get, we ended up finding it there. Really they have everything you need, aside from a iron lol! There was an ironing board but no iron and we we're all shocked about that one because this place has everything! Lol but over all we had a blast no complaint's here 😊

Excellent set-up for entire family and their kids. Highly recommend. Rate 4.9/5 with suggestion to improve interior lighting, a bit dark, otherwise perfect.

Lots of room for the 6 families we had staying here. Bedrooms above garage were great for the family members with youngest children for naptime. And they loved the constant deer visits! Owner was responsive and easy to work with. Gave us plenty of info for check-in, handling garbage, burning permit, and anything else that was special about the property. Great place and recommend to anyone.

My wife and I chose this place as our wedding venue and it didn't disappoint. The house and guesthouse are well maintained and provide a great setting to spend time with family and friends. There's plenty of outdoor activities to do both at the property and close by. We spent hours playing yard games (which are provided), taking in views from the shore, and simply enjoying the fall colors from the deck. We also spent time at Amnicon Falls State Park (10 minute drive) and Duluth (30 minute drive). The host was very attentive and helped ensure that everything went smoothly. As others have mentioned, the wifi is usable but can be very spotty. Overall, our experience was amazing and we'd recommend it to anyone looking for a family/friends getaway or a small, outdoor wedding.

We had a wonderful experience. The house and guest house are beautiful with lots of room. We had 14 in our group, ages ranging from 8 months to 81years old and this house was perfect!! The owner is very easy to work with and very accommodating.. We definitely would stay here again. The grounds are also very beautiful!!

The property is beautiful, nice big house, lots of room for everyone and the guest house is a lovely bonus. However, there are some big things that let us down on this trip… first, the water situation is stressful, you have to be careful with usage as they have a special tank (which I get) but it’s tricky with a big group to monitor it. We were a little on edge waiting for the alarm to go off (it didn’t, we were very conscious of showers/flushing). Not a deal breaker, but something to consider. Second, the beach is not a nice sandy beach - don’t believe the pictures - it’s more clay and while we were there it was all wood and debris washed up and no beach to sit and enjoy. Yes there is a public access near by but the listing pictures and description made it seem like the beach was large and usable by our whole group. Third, the house may be 20 miles from Duluth but it’s almost a forty minute drive to get to Canal Park and at least 20 minutes to the closest anything (like gas, etc). Also the last 3+ miles to the house is on straight up washboard gravel. Fourth, there is basically no cell service or internet. Wi-Fi is available but it’s worthless.
I’m saying all this just to warn others. Had we known all these things, our stay would not have been such a shock. We could have prepared better as well. We didn’t spend as much time at the house as we usually do when we rent a VRBO with beach access. Way too much time in the car with our kids. We’d be back but only in the winter when the beach/location wasn’t as important.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night getaway to this secluded property right on Lake Superior. The property was unique and spacious with wonderful north woods decor. Deer were plentiful and we saw multiple tracks for other animals. We enjoyed a trip to Amnicon Falls State Park, just a few miles away, as well as a couple of trips into Duluth and Superior -- less than half hour into Canal Park. But we primarily enjoyed our family time at this beautiful home on the water's edge. The kids enjoyed the beach and playing in the sand/clay. We played lawn games on the expansive lawn and enjoyed the fire pit at night under the stars. The home is well appointed with comfortable beds and bedding, as well as kitchen supplies. Owners/managers were attentive to a couple of questions that we had. Wi-fi is spotty but hopefully you can come to relax and not have to worry about your email! Instead of TV we took advantage of the plentiful games at the property. Thank you for a wonderful family stay at your beautiful home! Many memories were made!

You can hear the lake lapping the shore and view deer and other wildlife. There were 16 adults in our group. The main house is spacious and the kitchen is well appointed with plenty of cutlery, pots, pans, coffee cups, glasses and dishes. You can get away to the quiet guest house for reading/napping.

Fabulous Lake House
Just spent five nights at this beautiful property with grandparents, parents and children ( ages 2-10), seventeen total. So much space, so much to do we never left the property. The beach is rustic, great for exploring and wading. The kids loved playing on the large lawn. The family loved gathering on the large leather couch by the roaring fire. Great space for meals and games. We loved having the second little house for a quiet space. Thanks for all you did to make our visit a great memory for all of us.

Accommodating, great location!
We held a week long family reunion here with 22 people (12 adults and 10 children). We all fit comfortably and it was a beautiful spot to spend time outside. We were able to travel into Superior and Duluth relatively easy so it was a good location to reach those areas.

Great for family trip
Our extended family had an excellent stay (8 adults, 8 kids ages 8mo to 10yo)! The kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated having the yard games, basketball, frisbies, lawn chairs, board games/card games, etc available. The gravel road was great for kids' bike rides and runs and walks. The little beach area at the house was great, and there is also a large natural beach area a short walk (less then 0.5 mile?) from the house to explore. I appreciated using the house's pack'n'play. One less thing to bring! The house is gorgeous, and very relaxing.
