So, they initially put us up in their annex which was really not so pleasant. They most kindly changed our room into the main hotel and that was wonderful - I do find it odd though that after all this time they still do not have an elevator.
If you can't handle the stairs, this is no place for you! Still, the folks were most kind, and they even helped us take our bags up and down the stairs. But they really do need to get the elevator up - 6 floors man!

Nice clean room. Right off the country club plaza

The room is very spacious for a traveling family with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The location is awesome and within walking distance of many restaurants or shopping. The breakfast was generous with a good variety of options. The couch in the living room was not comfortable and had seen better days. We too were greeted at check-in with the news that the elevator was out of service for the duration of the trip. I was traveling with 2 kids and my mom who is over 60. We were placed on the 5th floor. While we made it happen, I believe that calls should have been placed ahead of time to let people know that the elevator would be out of order.

Front desk associates were on their game and very welcoming. We were warned that the elevator was out of service but exercise is always a plus! Location was great!!

Front desk staff was short and not overly friendly. Seemed like being fully booked may have overwhelmed them. Secondly there was no working elevator so you were stuck walking flights of stairs to get to or from your room. There were several minor details that when spending $300 a night just shouldn’t be a problem. Tv guide not working, WiFi was basically none existent. This has really opened my eyes and will probably never stay in this or affiliated hotels again

Stayed on three separate nights in a week, twice in a queen studio and the other in a king studio. Queens were located inside the hotel and a much nicer room. King had exterior access, which was not mentioned in the description, and felt less safe. There was an inner foyer to each cluster of 6 king rooms (2 x 3 floors) that was locked to the exterior and very appreciated. With less neighbors, I would have expected it to be quieter, but there were slamming doors at 2am on a Monday night and dogs loudly whining. Definitely ask for a pet free floor if you're not bringing your own pets. If the king and the queen are the same price, consider that a sign.
Service was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was great - good selection of food and tasty.

Easy to walk to shopping and restaurants.

The room smelt like cigarette smoke. We requested a different room and they gave us one. The new room was not clean nor well kept so we cancelled our reservation and found a new place.

This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. It's old, dirty, and smelly. Elevators are horribly slow and loud to the point of feeling dangerous. Most of the staff were very pleasant but check in took forever and we were the only customers checking in. Never Again!

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, close proximity of all the things Kansas City has to offer.
The rooms were suites, nicely appointed with very comfortable mattresses!
Free breakfast 7 days a week!
Hotel staff were amazing from front desk to Room Service.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn Country Club Plaza. The staff was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious. In short, a great place to enjoy!

Hotel was friendly and clean. The staff went above and beyond with top notch customer service and the location was superb. My only complaint would be the beds were too firm.

Quiet and clean hotel. Right off the plaza for lots of shopping and eating options. Breakfast was not too appealing but was convenient.

Good hotel and has good service.

Easily the worst so called “3-star” property we’ve ever stayed.
Good location and service are the only positive aspects.
However, incompetent building design for rooms not in the main building.
For the others, Beds are next to your door, and next to the building entrance.
We were awoken at 120am, 220am, 330am, 355am, 445am, 535am by said door slamming shut.
Since quality sleep is my priority, this place fails, and we will NEVER stay at any Residence Inn again. In fact, I’ll hold a grudge against Marriot in total.

Everything about the hotel was great. The only complaint I had was the shower handle leaking, which hurt the water pressure in the shower.

Everything was really good. The staff was wonderful. The water pressure in the rooms was atrocious. Certainly there is a little bit of wear and tear on the building but other than the water pressure overall it was a great place to stay with a great location.

There for art fest two blocks away. Elevator needs work.

There was only one elevator for the whole hotel. We were on the 6th floor and the elevator took over 10 minutes to get to us one time. Not convenient for a larger hotel to only have one elevator. Otherwise very pleasant experience

We really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn near the Plaza in Kansas City. It was a great location as we were able to walk to many destinations near the hotel such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the shops and restaurants in the Plaza.
The staff was terrific. We enjoyed the people staffing the front desk. The breakfast crew and housekeeping staff were very responsive. Whenever I would thank them, they would thank me for choosing to stay at their hotel.
Even after we checked out, the people at the front desk helped us out with a problem. Your staff there is a very valuable asset--I could not have been more pleased with how we were treated and assisted. Residence Inn by Marriott near the Plaza has now become our home away from home when we are in Kansas City.

The Staff were excellent and very professional and personal.

Everything about this stay was great - other than the single elevator that took forever and often went right by our 5th floor, so we ended up having to take the stairs!

quick check in, weekday staff was friendly, there was a leak in our room and they remedied the situation promptly. Everything is quite close. Will stay again!

3 floor units on east end of property were clean but worn. No elevator service to upper floors.

Over all stay was great. Parking was more of a problem. We have a cargo carrier on top and garages were not tall enough and we had to park in lot behind hotel, which is really small and needs a lot of work.

This hotel is where dreams go to die. As soon as you walk in the room you get an overwhelming sense of sadness and desperation. The staff were good, but thats where the positives end. Doors difficult to open because "the building is old and shifting" . Great! Cleaning staff only work during the week because "they all have senority". What? When they do work you only get one chance. If your do not disturb flag is out when they come by THEY DON'T COME BACK! The elvator doesnt level with the floors so they have signs everywhere warning you. Roaches in the bathroom and gang members outside the window. Our in room phone (circa 1985) just suddenly turned on the speaker in the middle of the night.and gave a dial tone, then a busy signal. No way to unhook the phone, likely for fear of antique collectors stealing them. The only reason you would stay here is if your drug deals required you to be in the Plaza. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Location was fantastic, great having an apartment and the free breakfast was a plus. Front of house staff were helpful. Negatives: the aircon was very loud but necessary and the bath/toilet/shower combo room a little tight. Good idea having the bathroom vanity outside
