Room was very clean. Old building and bathroom is outdated but everything is clean. We had problems with heating. Cooling system worked fine but at night when temperatures dropped we could not get the heat to work.
Overall good plan to stay.
I’ll take Marriott next time and pay a little extra!

No AC, construction, no card access at doors in evenings (have to walk around), pillows are too fluffy, elevators dirty

Good stay, good location and friendly staff

Huge hotel, guess it was good when it was built but the room needs some refreshment.
Yellow spot on tbe roof as if it came from an earlier leak.
Bed was ok.
Bathroom was Ok too with a tub built in shower.
Would not say it is a 4 star hotel but more a 3 star standard.
It felt old in general.

The stay was ok. The first room given was close to the elevators. Did not sleep all night. Horrible experience. The service at the front desk was good. They changed my room for the next night. But the inconvenience to switch rooms was annoying.

For the price you pay you expect a nice clean room. It’s very out dated, there was old garbage under the bed.

I had a pleasant stay at Chelsea Hotel in Toronto and the staff were very helpful after Hotels.com irresponsibly messed up my reservations April 1-4 & 5-7 in the same Chelsea Hotel. I personally ove-the-phone requested an upgrade with additional fee for adding a guest in the same room.

Great stay, great location and friendly staff. Not the most up to date furnishings (though the bed is very comfortable and a good shower) and two fire alarms (one at 1am-ish) - both from same floor. But we did enjoy our stay and found it very convenient- would stay again.

Comfortable room and bed, if a bit small. Friendly staff. My only issue was the room was so hot I had to turn off the heat unit completely and slept with the balcony door open... and I think it was about 1 degree outside!

So, it was mostly fine. One problem I noticed, which bothered me in the first morning, was that the sheets were dusty. I am quite sensitive to dust. I asked for the sheets to be changed, and the outer sheets were, but not the lower sheets, which still had a fair amount of dust and visible particles. During the second night my wife joined me, and she fortunately had a lint roller, and removed the dust. I then slept extremely well. Really, I cannot complain, it was a nice stay, but it strikes me that Chelsea Hotel might concern itself with that aspect, as I am sure that I am not the only one bothered by such things, and it did make my first morning somewhat stressful. Otherwise, I guess it depends on what you want. Future guests are informed that it is a huge hotel, in the middle of quite a lively area of Toronto. Well worth visiting, and lots of places to eat around it. But it can feel quite overwhelming at check-in and check-out. It is unquestionably convenient. It was also pretty quiet despite its location. The only bothersome noise I heard was from some ill-mannered guests having some sort of a birthday event on the first night who decided to have conversations in the hallway. I cannot complain about that really, as I was so tired on the first night that I fell fast asleep - I had thought of phoning the front desk to complain, and no doubt they would have responded quickly had I done so; but I fell asleep. I recommend it the hotel.

For the price you pay here it’s not great. Staff are not very helpful and seem indifferent to your requests, the lobby feels chaotic and busy, and there are lots of homeless people outside the doors harassing as you walk in. My balcony door did not lock as the lock appeared broken which was stressful. My room was across from a laundry/maintenance room so it was loud all hours of the night, staff yelling at one another and banging large carts in and out of the door. Calling the front desk was useless from my room as nobody ever picked up. Better off staying somewhere else for the price.

Check in was simple and relatively quick. Room was very out date. Balcony was usable and view was great! The seal around balcony door still allowed a breeze into the room. The thermostat didn't function properly and an odor would come into room while the heat ran periodically. Outside of this the stay was great.

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located! It is walkable to many restaurants and things to do. There is also onsite parking (though I would check the measurements of your vehicle prior to arriving as it is a bit tight).
Highly recommend the Chelsea Toronto hotel for your stay in Toronto. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel seems iconic, almost out of a movie. The view from our room (14th floor), the beds, desk, chairs and everything inside the room was good. Only downside was that the bathroom was not that clean - had what seemed to be wine stains? on the floor and the shower had hairs. Also the water pressure was so strong that the showerhead and the faucet were spreading water all over. Other than the stay was good and we had a good night rest.

Hotel rooms are very dated, balconies have a massive ledge inside the room that feels dangerous, overall felt like a dated hotel with not much effort put into the rooms.

Well located hotel. At the heart of the action

Bathrooms in general and plumbing are old. The toilet runs unless you rattle the handle and still abruptly runs periodically unless you again rattle the handle. Happened during the night. Cleaning ladies don't look up as there were spider webs above mirror on the wall paper. Not a mini fridge in every room apparently. Stayed in Jan and had a mini fridge so assumed would have again but didn't so had to throw out food.

We had issues in our room; the door of our bed was broken plus our shower was not up to standards (cold water). After bringing these issues to the front desk, they moved us to another room.

I've been coming to the Chelsea since i was 20 yrs old. And I'm 63. I've never had a bad experience in all the times I've stayed with the Chelsea. Great rooms, great staff and great did. Bring back Monarchs!

The shower was a nightmare, bed was not comfortable and the hallways were quite loud (thin walls)

Took a shower and used their towel to dry myself. I found a big patch of hair stuck on the towel as I was drying myself. Pics attached. I felt absolutely disgusted. I reported it to the hotel manager..he didn't refund my money. I just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else

Pros - still a super fam-friendly place - the heart of Toronto, lots of activities during Fam Day weekend BUT that's also negative. Getting to this hotel on a Saturday (coming from a city that is "minus traffic/construction = 40 min") and traversing the crappy protests, traffic, and construction(worse than ever!) was a nightmare. Killed my buzz, but oh yea, the hotel. Needs a bit of an update and needs to be kept a bit cleaner - overall still a solid 4/5!!

It was family weekend so the hotel had a lot of great things planned. And there is a pool with a water slide! Definitely a winner.

I enjoyed my stay. One of the drawers is a bit loose (room 2679),but no drama here.
IT would be a nice to have shower cap, but again, I'm nitpicking

I could never get hot water. Had to take lukewarm showers.

Spoke to staff on two previous occasions that a piece of gym equipmenrt had been assembled incorrectly, and could potentially harm someone. Still, no action taken by the hotel. :-(

Where we stayed looked nothing like the photos we were looking at. I have yet to get my $150 deposit back. We were told 2 different things for the pools. The parking is horrible as you could get lost if your not from there. Your Pepsi machine doesn’t accept $5 bills ( or it didn’t when we stayed )
Nor did it take change.

It was great, the rooms were clean, bed comfortable, staff very friendly. It was just the alarm that went off at midnight that was unfortunate. But it’s okay, safety first.
