The hotel can definitely use an refurb in mattresses as well as decor. The woman who checked me in, Chantel, was extremely pleasant and efficient. The location is convenient, a bar that is actually open as the sign states woukd make the hotel evwn more convenient.

The pool was closed the majority of our stay and room service would show up at the most awkward times to the point where we declined their entry into our room so often that they just stopped showing up. That being said, we did feel secure in our room and particularly enjoyed having access to a fridge and microwave. The mini store inside the hotel was incredibly convenient and it had nearly everything we could have needed for specific situations, such as a can opener and styrofoam plates.

Great stay overall from start to finish. I was greeted warmly and quickly upon arrival, was given my discount voucher for meal, and was helped with their EV charger issue.
The room was clean, quiet, and well appointed; though the bed wasn't great, it was definitely not as bad as I had at other similarly priced hotels.
Close in to the Universal properties, I will definitely visit again in the future when I visit the area.

I was placed in the west wing which is the older part with the outside rooms. Room smelled of moisture and mildew. The room cleaning service tried to come in multiple times while we laid in bed undressed even after my bf told them we didnt need service or we would be out at exactly 11 on our last day. The beds were as hard as a rock and the pillows were way to thick and hard as well. The ac barely kept the room cool. Dont stay in the west wing.

Every time I stay at this hotel it is the best experience! The staff is super helpful, even when we have the most unexpected issues - they're always assisting with the friendliest smile. I can't wait to return!

The receptionist charged my room twice. She said she would remove the double charge and it appeared to came off. Then when I was checking out I noticed that it was double charged again. Still have not removed the second charge from my account.

I was looking for a cheap place to stay for a Monday to Friday project we are working close to the hotel. Cant ask for better place, people is amazing, lowa price and if it is true the hotel is not fantastic, everything works properly. Teh convenience store is great, better than most hotels and everything you can need in an emergency is there. Rooms should be painted in some light colors and bathroom is small, but luxury is not what the otel promess, is is a very, very good utilitarian hotel. I am already booking a room for the next week ...

Everything was very secure and everything was clean. The cantina was extensive and I even found "my" gatorade and the ice cream sandwiches that we wanted there.

This location is super close to Universal and the pick up tram was so convenient. Security out front was nice so you felt safe. Room was comfortable. Lots of places to walk to as well. My only complaint was breakfast at hotel wasnt worth the price.

Overall this is a very decent, affordable, clean & comfortable hotel.
However, there was one HUGE problem you don’t want to overlook if staying here. I always hang the DND sign on my door for the duration of my stay at any hotel. Rosen has a “security policy” where they will break in your door if you display that sign & don’t answer if they knock. They call it a “welfare check” & do this several times per day to every room. I was asleep when they knocked & woke up them breaking through the door. They couldn’t get in completely because I had the deadbolt latch on. However, it’s EXTREMELY unnerving. Every morning as I walked down the hall, they were doing the same thing to each room with a sign displayed. I actually removed the sign the next day but they STILL pounded on the door that day AGAIN telling me itv was another welfare check.
This was not the end of the problem! When I asked them lot to do this again, Michael with security said this was their policy & if I didn’t agree to it, I needed to leave. He literally threatened to make me leave & refused to back off. He was extremely unprofessional, aggressive & rude until he heard me get my husband on my phone.
Sadly I would not stay here again because of this.

Good value, helpful and friendly staff, good location. The rooms were a little tired and it was difficult to air the room as the windows didn’t open. Otherwise a very nice stay.

The Front Desk Supervisor made me and my family stay at the front desk for 2 hours because she insisted that hotels.com made an error in my reservation. After showing my confirmation number and payment she still insisted that hotels.com made the error. They did not make the error. After the Manager at Hotels.com called me and then sent what I showed this supervisor, then the story changed and I was all set. Mind you we spent the entire day at the parks and at 10:30 pm locked out of our rooms and standing at the front desk for two hours.

We booked this room for price and also because it said it had a bar and restaurant. We were there for 3 nights and the bar was only open the last night, and there wasn’t a bartender, just a waitress making drinks. Service was terrible. At check in the staff was rude at front desk. At the concierge desk they tried to get us to listen to a time share presentation and we refused she got really rude and ignored us.

When we booked this hotel, it was rated at 8.6. Supposed to have a bar and a restaurant. The bar was never open. The only restaurant is Japanese, which is only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The hotel is very old. The front desk person at check in was not helpful or very nice. We did enjoy the pool. The rooms are old. We stayed on a side where the door is open to the outside like an old hotel. Everything around this hotel is closed except an Applebee's. You must get an Uber or taxi to get anywhere. It is close to Universal Studios. I would never stay again.

Housekeeping is EXTREMELY noisy. Yelling down the halls to each other, and constantly slamming doors at all hours of the morning. No concept of people trying to get rest.

This a nice middle of the road hotel that is very close to Universal studios. Very average but also not really expensive in a very expenaive area.

We had everything we needed. Clean. No drama. Shuttle to universal was straight forward. Tons of shops and restaurants within a couple blocks.
