Location, staff, amenities
Shower drain backed up (you would expect housekeeping or engineering would have noticed this and addressed it before another guest (us) had to experience it. Also, a couple of outlets did not work properly, again the expectation is for a proactive approach to these kinds of things.

The location of this hotel is great and so are the common areas. The restaurants and rooftop bar are great and it has a really nice vibe.
I was shocked at the state of our room. It felt VERY outdated and shabby. The carpet was honestly filthy and the tub had not been cleaned at all. There was hair and soap in there from the previous tenant. I was really upset with our room in comparison to the lobby and restaurants. It felt like they had completely redone those areas and just put shabby old ikea furniture in a dirty room for us to sleep in. Not to mention, we were on the 2nd floor and it was so loud. Because of the restaurant and bar, there were guests standing right below our window all night making noise. I wouldn't stay here again unless I hear that they completely renovate the guest rooms...

I was told parking was included with the room & then was billed for parking.

The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. They went beyond the basic job requirements in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. The room was clean and spacious and felt comfortable when we spent time in it. The Emily is situated close enough to plenty of restaurants, bars, clubs, public transportation and other attractions but also felt like it was separated enough from the crowds and the noise when we just wanted to relax. The rooftop cinema was added bonus as was the rooftop bar.
There was nothing we didn’t like about the hotel or the property.

Friendly and helpful staff. Well accommodated room with a steamer and all the basics. Comfy and good-looking aesthetics. The coffee shop and restaurant downstairs were great, bummed we didn't check out the rooftop. Housekeeping was thorough and kind.
No real complaints.

location was great
very, very well maintained property
staff was excellent
Those were the worst beds I have ever encountered in a hotel.
All the communal space furniture was beautiful but strangely low to the ground. Soooo uncomfortable (I’m not even that tall). I saw multiple guests struggling to get up from the couches. This is a case where function was sacrificed for form but it impacted the experience negatively.

great location!
We waited for an hour to get seated for brunch, only to be told that they weren’t serving it that day.

the room was very clean and the hotel itself well maintained. staff was very friendly. bar and coffee shop were both nice.
lighting in the room was bad. there was plenty of lighting but just poorly done. made it difficult to do hair/makeup. additionally, the room next door was very loud late into the night (3am +) and we weren’t the first room to complain. even after security stopped up, the party continued.

Bed was uncomfortable, tv didn't work, decor was cheap, curtains didn't have valance so light crept through.

LOVED the outdoor curling with the yurts! The staff out there were so fun and helpful. Also very much enjoyed the specialty drinks and outdoor heaters and fireplaces to enjoy them by.
We felt that the extras (curling) we shouldn’t have had to pay extra for, at least if there aren’t any other people out there. We loved it but there wasn’t anyone else because it was so cold.

We loved the location and the size of our room. The entire staff was very helpful.
The two nights we were there, the restaurant was closed and the rooftop restaurant/bar was closed.
We were also missing washcloths and bathroom mats. They were quick to bring them to us though.

modern clean and well appointed
they “upgraded” my room and put me in a room right above the hotel entrance. I couldn’t fall asleep until 2am due to the noise level of people hanging out outside! very disruptive as I had to get up at 6am the next morning for a long drive.

Nice snacks, nice staff, huge and comfy bed. Windows are very soundproof, couldn’t believe the noise when I opened it, when closed its silent in the room! Housekeeping was also especially attentive and sweet, I felt cared for
I would have loved if the mini fridge were restocked daily

Location & room were great. Love the neighborhood.
NO sports bars in the neighborhood to watch a Big 10 football game. Not the hotel's fault, but the staff didn't know that either when I booked. The hotel does have Big 10 Network so we watched in our room. A bit more staff training about local establishments would be great.
