We stayed in Sugarcreek before but, in a different home. Initially, we were disappointed but, upon staying, we came to enjoy this cozy, quaint "cottage".
The first fl. BEDROOM, in the center of everything, allowed us to check in on one of our mothers. The LAUNDRY room was in a convenient location with some nice amenities. The KITCHEN table afforded us the ability to congregate wonderfully. We cooked and shared stories. KURIG, a plus! The LIVING ROOM tv allowed us to enjoy our church's services and facebook. We had fun with these. The upstairs BEDROOMS were comfortable and quiet. The LL BATHROOM was small but, felt like a spa. The water closet was tight but, we made it sufficient privacy. The mattresses were not as comfortable as we'd wanted but, one of our young people did not mind. The utility sink was perfect for cleaning CPAP equipment. The YARD seemed lovely but, it had gotten cooler and we were not able to enjoy it as we wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed the WALKABLE neighborhood!! A few of us took a morning stroll to The Gospel shop,
The Swiss Village bulk foods market, Sweetwater Farm market, and saw the sites. It is a 35-min walk, without stopping. Very refreshing and exhilarating. On another walk, one of our young people was able to walk to Reisbeck's grocers with a rollater. She was elated to have carried out such a great fete❣ When we want an autumn trip in the walkable city, this is the home we'd like the option to get!!

What I loved about this house is that it felt like I was walking into grandma's house every time I walk in the door! It was simple, yet cozy and inviting! And I didn't feel like it was too fragile to have my children in there. Thank-you!!

Cute little house. Loved the front porch. Never could get the TV to allow us to see HULU or Netflix after many attempts but it wasn’t the end of the world.
Glad they had a washer and dryer so we could launder our towels and a few clothes.
Family had a great time. ❤️

The house was nice and quiet, close to shopping, and had a full kitchen with everything we needed. Check in and check out were easy. Some of the beds were not terribly comfortable though, and the basement is is not the driest. I wish there were more seating in the living room, but there isn’t really room, and the chairs that can be pulled into there are pretty but not terribly sturdy for bigger people.

Our family decided last minute to go to Amish country in Holmes County Ohio. Wife found this wonderful country home in Sugarcreek. Found it to be very clean, accommodating & perfectly located. From start of process through whole stay Matt, the host was quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again.

We were a group of 8 adults..4 staff with 4 developmentally disabled adult clients. At first we weren't too sure of the bedroom versus restroom layout but it all worked out just perfect. we were all so happy and comfortable there. Can't wait for warmer weather to take advantage of the beautiful back yard!! Thanks so much!!

This cozy home is located in Sugarcreek a quaint little town close to Berlin and Walnut Creek. The house is cute but the driveway can be challenging with more than one vehicle as it’s located next to an ally so it can be tight. It’s great for a family, but honestly not for anyone with bad knees or hips because the bed in the main bedroom sits high and the bathtub sides are high also which was also a challenge. The kitchen area is great for sitting around and talking and playing games. We’ve really enjoyed our stays over the years.

Our family from MI, IN, and OH resumed meeting here for the Swiss Festival after COVID prevented us from getting together the last couple years. We had a fun weekend. This house is in a great location and had everything we needed to have a great time. The owners have been great to us every year. Thanks so much Matt!

Stayed here in August with a family group consisting of 2 couples, one senior, one 20 year old and one 13 year old. The house was very clean and well-kept, and the location was great. We could walk downtown to see the Cuckoo Clock (about 10-15 min walk) and shops, which was very nice. The Steam Roundhouse (our main reason for coming) was very close by car, and getting to Walnut Creek, Berlin etc. was also very easy. Communication with Matt was great, and he was very accommodating when we got in earlier than the check-in time.
The layout of the house may be a little challenging for some groups- it was a bit hard to tell what the layout was from the pics. The main floor has one bedroom with Queen size bed, and a bathroom attached. You do have to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom and the attached laundry room as well. The kitchen and living room are also on the main floor. Both were a decent size.
Upstairs there are 3 more bedrooms- one room by itself has a Queen sized bed; across the hall, the other two rooms are joined- you must enter the first room (which has bunk beds with double bed on bottom, twin on top and twin trundle bed that pulls out) to get through to the second room (which has two twin beds). There are no bathrooms on the top floor.
The basement has another bedroom, with two twin beds. There is also a bathroom down here, with a toilet in one room and shower/sink in another room. The basement has another living area as well. The basement has a very low ceiling in some places, but very nice handrail for safety going down, and lots of signs to warn you not to bump your head.
My Dad (the senior in our group) is not tall and is pretty agile, so he was fine sleeping downstairs in the basement, with the bathroom nearby. One couple and their two children (the 13 and 20 year olds) slept upstairs, using the basement bathroom at night. One couple slept in the main floor bedroom, keeping the bathroom available during the day to all, but keeping their door closed at night.
If you are shy, have very different night time schedules, don't know each other that well or are not very mobile, it may not be the right layout for you. We did make it work, and the location and price were pretty awesome. There are also lots of beds available, which is a plus when you have a large party staying.
Outdoor area was nice- great seating area and grill in the back. Fun front porch swing in the front.

Older style house in the heart of Sugarcreek. Within walking distance of the shops downtown in a quiet location. Nice porch, large kitchen, plenty of bedrooms. Only thing I would fault is the small living room, but not much to be done since it’s an old house with small rooms. Everything was as described. Enjoyed our stay and would rent it again.

Short weekend
I rented this house to use in lieu of multiple hotel rooms while staying over for a family reunion. Everything was very nice and clean and we had no issues. Great centralized location for Holmes County!

Wonderful!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The house has such charm! It’s in a quiet neighborhood that is very close to downtown Sugarcreek. I loved hearing the clip clop of horses coming down the street as the Amish buggies made their way to church on Sunday morning. Matt and Ruth are fantastic hosts! I can’t recommend enough! 🤗

Great Place for Teacher Getaway
Our small group of teachers/friends came from Michigan to enjoy the beautiful area and stayed at this great property. Everything was super clean and very homey. The basement ceiling was a little low but was perfect for the two of us that are smaller in stature. :)
The location in Sugarcreek was a perfect jumping off place for shopping, antiquing, and eating at the nearby towns. Sugarcreek itself is a fun town and we enjoyed seeing the "Worlds Largest Cuckoo Clock".
We had a great time!
