From the moment you book you'll realize it was a bad decision.1st you'll get an email from DBB outlining all the costs and fees, that are far less than what you just paid on VRBO (no refunds!). Then they start messaging you the list of arbitrary rules and expectations (exactly what you want on a relaxing vacation). Followed by a website where you're required to upload a picture of you holding your driver's license, that is completely unsecured. Anyone with the URL, can access your information on the internet. Hello identify theft. Also against the law - CCPA Once you arrive, you can't just check-in at the cabin, you need to drive to their location. There you'll open your car door, you'll hear a siren blaring, "YOU ARE BEING RECORDED" from across the parking lot (which is ironic since no noise is allowed at the cabin 24/7). You walk inside and you're immediately greeted by a friendly, whoops I mean terrible 6ft cardboard cutout of a police officer outlining all the fees they'll charge you. The actual cabin was dirty. The sheets were too. There was no shampoo, or soap in general (would have been great to know). It was 20° out, and no blankets, only coverlets. We tried using the hot tub at 6pm on Sat, after skiing and got in trouble for "excessive noise" playing from a cell phone (no joke!). Best of all we paid $212 to do the dishes, put them away, and drive the trash to the dump per their requirements. They blame the trash on the city, but why aren't they doing it?

We loved our time at this property! The photos did not do the house justice. It was so beautiful inside and perfect for our short two day getaway to Big Bear! We can't wait to come back!

I can't say anything bad about the cabin itself. Great location, newly remodeled and cozy. We had a very easy check-in process and everything was great, except: Kitchen: If you are wanting to prepare meals while staying at this cabin, you might want to bring your own cooking/baking equipment because you will be very disappointed. The pans were very worn and scratched, there was only a small baking sheet. Silverware was very flimsy. Didn't have a whisk or a decent spatula to work with. They did, however have a good plate and cup set. Only one wine glass but no wine opener. Family room: Sofas were not very comfortable, definitely not enough room for everyone to sit unless you bring in a chair or two from the dining set. Especially if you are advertising being able to sleep 7, all 7 should be able to sit comfortably. Baths: Nicely decorated, decent amount of towels. Bedrooms: While unpacking, we noticed there weren't hangers in any of the closets. No hooks to hang your jacket, wet towels, nothing. While this isn't a deal breaker, it would have been nice to have a place to put our clothes aside from a drawer or draped over a chair. Towels stayed damp most of the trip. Here is where we were very disappointed. Being in a mountain community, the weather is cold. At night the temperature dipped into the teens. We couldn't keep the heater on very high as we all get headaches and dry sinus', but had to keep the thermostat somewhat high because the beds only had a flat sheet and an extremely thin coverlet. It was so lightweight we were freezing. It would have been nice if we were were told of this so we could have brought blankets. Also, the heat doesn't reach the back two rooms as much as the family room or 3rd bedroom so the back part of the house was cold while the other rooms were very warm. We kept needing to adjust the temperature to keep everyone happy. We really want to give more stars as we really liked the cabin itself, but the owners should consider stocking this cabin with better bedding and basic necessities. This place has great potential but cannot recommend staying here in the cold of winter. If you do, bring blankets. It might be a better to stay here during the warmer months.
