About this house rental
From the moment you pull into the winding, tree-kissed drive, you’ll immediately fall in love with Wildwood. Just 5 minutes south of adorable Saugatuck/Douglas and minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan, Wildwood’s five secluded acres has room to wander or even get lost. Our family relishes every moment spent together here and we think you'll love it too. Enjoy morning coffee surrounded by maple trees and white pines, bonfires in the evenings and hot-tubing under the stars. Wildwood isn’t just a house, it’s a retreat. Ideal for families and friends looking to get away. Warmly imagined with time together in mind, Wildwood’s decor is simple and yet eclectic. Inside, a mixture of local antiques, vintage finds and warm furnishings beg for you to leave behind whatever waits for you at home. Upstairs, a magnificent gourmet, farm-style kitchen opens to the dining area seating up to 12 as well as the home’s sitting room, complete with wood-burning fireplace for cool weather and Sonos for easily plugging in your favorite music. Inspired by hunting lodges, the upstairs sitting room's twin chesterfield sofas beg for quiet chit-chat next to a roaring fire over cocktails. The kitchen features a 5-burner stove, stainless steel appliances, a deep farmhouse sink, and everything else essential to throw together a feast. The outdoor deck has a long dining table for when Michigan presents its best self. Nearby, a couple Adirondack chairs encourage sitting for chats or reading. Each bedroom takes its name from a different national park and is decorated accordingly, anchored by a warm Pendelton wool blanket. Each bed has 400 thread count sheets for a luxurious night's sleep. The Badland's Room, the upper floor master suite, features a lovely king-sized bed and massive picture window so you can enjoy the natural setting outside. The ensuite bathroom includes a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower. Just across the hall, The Acadia Room features a queen bed. Between you’ll find guest bathroom no. 1 with tub/shower combo as well as a washer and dryer should you need to do a load or two mid-stay. As you head downstairs, notice the massive framed American flag. It belonged to our grandfather who served in WW2 and is one of our favorite details. Downstairs' main living room has the most cushy, giant sectional you’ll ever meet, and may never want to leave! Inspired by our love of winter & aprés ski, the vintage snow shoes, skis and 1950s & 60s paint-by-number winter scenes on the walls add to the coziness of the room, making it perfect for movie night with Xfinity TV, Netflix, Hulu. If it’s blustery out, squeeze together for a good game night or a shuffleboard tournament. There’s a variety of games in the upstairs closet. Also downstairs is the Yellowstone Room. Its fun, twin set of bunkbeds — great for kids or those staying sans significant other — are sturdy, holding adults up to 225 lbs. Down the hallway you’ll find full bathroom no. 3 with a shower and then the Glacier Room which also has a queen bed. Around the corner from the sectional is the sleeping nook with a fold-out full sized bed. Careful not to wake your friends up as you walk out onto the lower deck and its 7-person hot tub just outside. If you wander a bit into the woods, you’ll find one of our favorite spots, the fire pit. Surrounded by adirondack chairs, there’s nothing better than enjoying a warm fire on a cool evening while gazing up at the stars. Simple pleasures, and Wildwood is chock full of ‘em. Should you want to explore, Wildwood is also located near some of the best southwestern Michigan has to offer. The house is just minutes from some of the most beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. It's also around the corner from farmer's stands and down the road from Apple Orchards, Vineyards and Hard Cider Mills. Antique stores dot the countryside. The roads are perfect for cycling, running or simply taking a nice drive, and if you've never been to the area you'll be shocked and thrilled by the number of delicious restaurants, bars and shops. There's so much to do... or not do, which ever you prefer. We hope you’ll bring your family and friends to Wildwood. It’s yours to enjoy. Please note that during the summer season, Wildwood is available Saturday - Saturday. Should a week not be booked, 2 weeks prior we will release for a 4 night minimum. Regarding cancellations: While the cancellation policy is listed as 60 days for a full refund, 30 days for a 50%, this is specifically for reservations in June, July & August. We are a group of seven friends that like to get away for a winter weekend. This house had plenty of space for all of us to socialize and sleep comfortably. The TV area and couch are very spacious. We used the hot tub a ton and it is very nice! Overall, we had a great weekend!

We had a great stay at Joshua’s home. It was a beautiful snowy weekend and we loved all of the amenities here, not least of all the hot tub. Joshua was easy to communicate with and responded quickly. The home is very spacious and has a lot of nice touches and conveniences. We had six adults and all had plenty of room and each couple had its own bathroom. We couldn’t have had a nicer time!

The house is lovely for a group with lots of living spaces indoors and outside. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was cozy and comfortable. Joshua was a great host.

Perfect location for ease of access to Saugatuck & South Haven. Loved the acreage and feeling of solitude while being so close to great parks, restaurants, and shopping.
Would absolutely stay again!

Great place, tucked away in the woods and in a peaceful setting. Very close to Douglas, Saugatuck, and some great beaches. Very well-equipped home with grill large kitchen lots of space with a couple of living areas, large deck, loads of sleeping room. The house is very tastefully decorated and the owners are very responsive to any questions. My only "recommendation" is around the coffee maker. I never really figured it out but we got it to work every day. Perhaps some instructions (or a simple Mr. Coffee? :)). My entire family enjoyed the week...we had a blast. Highly recommend this fine property.

Beautiful home away from home. Nicely stocked kitchen, lots of breathing space for a large family, very clean, lots of outdoor privacy. A sweet little haven away from crowds, but in close proximity to town and beaches. We especially loved the hiking trails.

We loved our stay at this house - it's tucked away in a beautiful wooded spot, but only about a five minute drive from Saugatuck. There were ten of us (plus a dog) staying in the house, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is clean and well-decorated, and there is a really nice deck and firepit area for outdoor time.

we have rented this property several times and it continues to be an unbelievable lux retreat home in the woods. They have kept up the modern style and have done great upgrades along the way.
What a wonderful home away from home..

Our three families (6 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs) loved our stay at Wildwood. The home is beautiful, inside and out. The layout gave each family privacy, but we were also able to comfortably gather in the dining room, living room or family room and enjoy time together. We especially liked the lovely enclosed deck, which helped to keep the kids and dogs corralled. Joshua is the perfect host - great recommendations and so helpful!

I would highly recommend staying at Josh’s place! The house was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed. ALL the beds were comfortable and clean and having three bathrooms for a girls weekend was very useful! We used the hot tub for morning coffee and it worked as expected. Would highly recommend for a big family or group of people!

This is our second time staying at Wildwood or as we like to call it Vinter Haus, as we always come in the winter to get out of the city. The property is just as expected, Joshua is a wonderful host and very communicative. Three families stayed here comfortably and always have a restful weekend away!

This home was all that, and more! From the moment we turned down the country road this home was on we knew we would have some beautiful views We were not disappointed... This home has a decor that invites one to relax. Like cooking, the kitchen has all you might need to prepare any meal. The house is roomy and open, yet the bedrooms are very separate from the living areas. Speaking of bedrooms, the beds are so comfortable, Love the great outdoors? One is surrounded by woods and great fresh air that only nature can provide. Can't say enough about this rental. Douglas/Sagatuck.is within minutes and offers great fun, shopping, beach, and casual dining. All around the perfect rental home.

House was immaculate and perfect for all 12 of us! Loved the decor! Beds were so comfy, even the bunks! Big kitchen had everything we could possibly need! Location was great...close to the beach and downtown but still secluded and private. We've been renting every summer in Saugatuck for the past 20 years and this house is by far and above, the best. The owner, Joshua was great and very responsive. Perfect getaway for our whole family! We didn't want to leave! Highly Recommend!!

We stayed in this beautiful house again this summer. It is just perfect. Enjoyed a bonfire with s’mores, dips in the hot tub, relaxing morning with views of the woods, and ended the nights playing games at the huge kitchen table. We ate almost every night at the house because they have everything! Literally there is an espresso machine, Weber grill, Kitchen Aid mixer, etc! Probably the cleanest rental I’ve ever been in. So close to Douglas and Saugatauk. We are always sad to return to real life. Joshua is an amazing host; accommodating and timely with response. Plan to continue the tradition.

The size of rooms are wonderful! Three plus bedrooms, 3 bathrooms,! This is great to have when you have 3-different families. Each room in the house can provide you with a peaceful getawa (if you need one). I love the fact that the only room with a TV is in the lower, large family room. This gives us all a great break from - the world so that we can enjoy what’s really important (our family). The huge, beautiful kitchen and dining area allowed is to make and prepare our food and celebrate. The woods surrounding the house makes you feel so tranquil. I highly recommend the places Joshua mentions. The diner down the road - great food! Picking blueberries, Thanks Joshua for sharing your slice of Heaven with us!

This property met the needs of our whole family of 11, plus a 3 month old puppy! Our 3 families spent the week together at Wildwood. Granna and Grandad had the master suite on the main floor level. The 5 grandchildren used the bunk room and the cozy nook in the lower level. The 2 couples each used one of the other bedrooms. The common spaces-kitchen,living room, family room are spacious! It’s secluded in the woods but has quick and easy access to the main Blue Star Highway. It was very easy to travel to shopping, dinner, and sunsets. We all had a great time, and the children didn’t want to leave! They had spent much of their outdoor time riding scooters up and down the paved private driveway ! Joshua is a great host, and has a quick response time for questions. We were so happy we found Wildwood!

We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous home - space for everyone, tons of windows, private yet close to everything, and a dream kitchen. Our weather was pretty awful (of course the sun came out when we left…) but the 6 of us and our pup had a great week regardless. Looking forward to next time!
